The Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home is located in a conservation area, close to the town centre. The Home's gardens and Georgian architecture helps Residents and visitors feel at home and in 2023, the home was awarded a Silver award by Leamington Town Hall for the lovely gardens.

The Home has its own Activities Co-ordinators, who undertake group activities and one-to-ones with the residents. Mealtimes are also an important part of the day for residents and the home's talented cooks provide tasty, nutritious meals throughout the day.

The nursing home also has an in-house hairdressing salon, while all rooms are equipped with TVs with access to digital channels and all rooms have fully adjustable electrically operated nursing beds.

Following an extremely bad experience in a Care Home, I moved my Mum into Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home. She spent the last two years of her life (up to 98) there and they really gave her a home in every sense of the word. The staff are wonderful, extremely professional, caring and above all so
warm and loving. They developed a lovely relationship with my Mum and she was extremely happy, indeed thinking of it as 'home' which is a difficult transition to make from her own home and independence. I would highly recommend 'The Royal' to any family having to consider placing their loved one into care but needing confidence that they are placing them into a home where they will be really taken care of in every sense, physically, medically and emotionally.

The home's care and support of Mum is exceptional and, in the current circumstances (COVID-19) is second to none. I haven't been able to visit Mum now for over a month due to the lockdown, but I know I can call the home at any time for an update on Mum's condition and wellbeing. At the time of writing,
the staff have been able to keep the home COVID-free which is exceptional given the terrible news from elsewhere. Staff have always been happy and friendly and I hope they have remained so in these trying times. These key workers deserve much more than they receive and are seriously under-valued.

I heartedly recommend this home. It was highly recommended to us when we asked friends about their views. It was such a relief to entrust our Mum’s care to the staff and indeed she improved in their care although is extremely frail. Their care of her physical needs is brilliant and we no longer have
to worry about that. Her emotional health is also well supported with the loving-kindness and respect given by all the staff which includes support with video calling relatives and giving her company so she isn’t frightened when the fire alarm is tested and the time they take feeding and encouraging her and making sure she sees her Sunday Service and hears her daily thought for the day. Thank you doesn’t seem enough.

I would just like to say a heart full thank you to all the staff at the Royal Leamington, my dad has been a resident there since November 2019 and sadly passed away last week March 4th 2020, the thoughtfulness and love shown by all members of staff there has been overwhelming. From day one, they looked
after and cared for my dad with so much love, respect and dignity, from the day dad moved in there, to the day dad left them.
Not only have they cared for my dad for the past four months, but they have also cared for the rest of dads family who came to visit. We as a family can not fault anything during dads short stay there. I would highly recommend anyone if they were thinking of residing in the Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home. Thank you once again from all of our family.

I would like to mention the help and support the staff at Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home gave to my father. Sadly he passed away in hospital. My MUm, who is also a resident, has been supported very well since Dad died. The time and care the care team gave my Mum to get ready on the day of the funeral
really helped her and the family, and the tribute from the staff was very moving on the arrival of the hearse.

The Royal is a very well organised professionally run home and my Cousin is well cared for and treated with dignity and respect. The carers and nursing staff are excellent and take the time to listen to the needs of my Cousin with kindness and really are amazing. Thank you!

Absolutely stunning service for my grandmother at the nursing home. They treat all the of the people in need, like they are their own family members and always put them first. The nurses should all be proud of their kindness towards others. The environment in the home is beautiful and I could not recommend
a better place for you to bring your family members or friends. I would give it a 100 out of 5 but unfortunately, that is not possible.

I am happy that my mum receives excellent care from all the staff at the home. They are caring and patient with her.
The activities coordinator tries to include her as much as possible. She enjoys the musical afternoons when singers come in to perform.

Warm and friendly staff. Rooms/home a bit tired needs updating, however, dad seems happy and comfortable, support is 100%. Management is attentive to all family's and dad's needs.

I have been most impressed by the level of care, support and competence of all staff in this home. This applies both to the care of my friend and the helpful, encouraging attention to myself. Anybody is really lucky to be here. The staff also seem to be very well supported.

For 8 years and counting, my journey with Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home has been marked by an unwavering dedication, and a tenure with full support from the Owner, Mark Mendelson. He has been my backbone from day 1! My role is a privilege, a conduit to make a meaningful impact on the lives of others. With a career spanning over two decades within the realm of caring, I continue to approach each day with unwavering enthusiasm. Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home holds a special place in my heart, a true embodiment of a welcoming abode.


My qualifications are as follows; Bachelor's in Adult General Nursing; Bachelor of Arts Degree with a Post Graduate Diploma in Education; District Nursing Degree, Master's Degree in Health Care Management and an NVQ Level 5 in Leadership and Management.


As a seasoned and qualified nurse, my dedication to care has fostered a deep-rooted connection, and I derive immense satisfaction from hands-on interaction with our cherished residents.

Hi, my name is Brankica,


I’m the Head Care Supervisor at The Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home. I have been working at the Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home since 2018, after coming to England from Macedonia where I was working as a nurse in the private polyclinic. I love to care, full of compassion, strength, passion, positivity and courageousness in all my work. I also love to help people and my staff at all times. For example, on my days off I am always available to be contacted and I support our carer staff. I have gained different experiences at The Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home in all areas of care. For example, I don't only deliver exceptional care to residents, but I also assist in the training and induction of new staff, so that they can achieve the high care standards required when working for the home.


I have gained the following qualifications since I started work at the Home. These qualifications have helped me to execute my role excellently. These are the Level 4 Advanced People Handling and Risk Assessment Key Trainer’s Certificate; Certificate in Conflict Management (CPD Online College); Certificate in Team Leading Level 2 (CPD Online College); and Certificate in Tracheostomy Care Awareness.


I am always trying to do better and level up in providing care for our residents. I am also one of the Homes Infection Control Champions. Some of my daily work involves verbal or written supervision with carer staff, support, updating, teaching, training, and advice on residents' activities of daily living. My goal is to see content, positive and happy staff, residents families and residents. I believe if all staff are happy, content and proud, our residents will be more happy and content as well including their families. I am happy to see our staff, residents and family happy.

Job Title: Activities Coordinator Supervisor

I am the activities coordinator supervisor at the Royal. I have worked here for the last 3 years and enjoy my role within the home.


I am originally from Lancashire and moved to Leamington Spa 10 years ago with my husband and 4 children the youngest is now 16. I have 2 adult stepdaughters who still live in Lancashire.


My working life has varied from working in Quality Control and as a Master Recorder of CDs and 12" Video Discs to dealing with our emergency services through my role in monitoring alarms for a security company. I had short spells of working in Holland and also studying in Greece towards my degree. However, my most rewarding role was being a full-time mother which I was very fortunate to be able to do.


It is the experience through 40-plus years of my working life that I bring to my current role, in particular, my confidence in communicating with people of all backgrounds. I have also successfully completed a number of relevant courses to further enhance my knowledge and skills.


I always strive to treat each resident with respect and as an individual and warmly welcome them into our family here at the Royal. I feel privileged to be able to spend time with each person and am always fascinated by the life stories they have to tell, whether vocally, through photos or via their loved ones.

Job Title: Deputy Care Home Manager

Hello, my name is Jackie and I am Deputy Manager/ Clinical Lead at The Royal Leamington Spa Nursing Home. I will have worked here for 10 years come Easter 2025.


I have a very diverse history in Nursing. I started as a carer before my nurse training and passed my exams in 1991.


During my career, I have worked in Acute Psychiatry, drugs and alcohol services, rehabilitation services, and Secure units and have also trained as a Prison Officer. I specialised in conflict resolution and was known as a ‘troubleshooter’ in my field.


I have worked all over the UK, from North to South and also in Germany and Belgium.


I originally hail from Lancashire and have the typical Lancastrian ways. I say things as they are and like to think I am honest and open. I also have the Lancashire sense of humour and believe a stranger is a friend I haven’t yet met.


I have an NVQ 4 and 5 in management and when I started working at ‘The Royal’ it was as a staff nurse. I had decided to come away from management and do what I do best, Nurse. However, here I am in another management role, seems I am destined to remain this way.


I never intended to remain at ‘The Royal’. I thought a year, 2 years at most, but I fell in love with the place, with the staff, the culture and of course the wonderful residents I have had the honour to care for over the last 10 years.


My skills, to name but a few, are Medication Management and Traner, PEG/RIG care and management, Tracheotomy care and management, Catheter care and management including male, female and suprapubic, Palliative care including Syringe Drivers and Verification of death, and Dementia care.
I enjoy photography, wildlife and bird photography though since acquiring my Shih Tzu boy this has not been possible as he scares the wildlife away. I speak Dutch, adequately though not fluently from my time working in Belgium.
