Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is a family-run care home that provides first-class care for elderly residents within a homely and relaxed environment. The dedicated and experienced caring team is committed to providing tailor-made care for each individual, ensuring each person is looked after with respect and dignity.

As well as permanent stay, the home also provides respite and recuperative care. Respite care allows the person's normal carer a break from their caring duties whilst recuperative care enables a person to recover from an illness or operation away from a clinical setting.

Thurlaston Meadows offers a choice of room styles to suit each individual's preference and budget. Some of the larger suites are designed for couples to share or for someone who requires more space.

Food is an important part of life at Thurlaston Meadows, providing healthy and appetising meals is a primary concern for the chef. Meals can be enjoyed in the bright and attractive dining room, in your room or outside on the terrace weather permitting.

Daily entertainment and stimulating events inside and outside are part of everyday life at the Meadows, which can be enjoyed by everyone or for those who wish to relax in a quiet lounge or library, this is available too.

I had 2 weeks respite care after an operation. The peaceful rural setting helped my convalescence and my stay enabled me to regain more confidence and mobility in order to return home. All the staff were friendly and helpful. If I had stayed longer I would have enjoyed taking part in the outings offered.

My aunt was with Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for 6 weeks, over that time we see a great improvement in her.
She was eating well, which she hadn't been. The staff were so kind to her, and friendly. I do feel she would have been quite happy to have been a permanent resident.

My mother was very happy during her 12-month stay in Thurlaston Meadows Care Home, nothing was too much trouble for the staff who are compassionate and helpful at all times. Lots of activities were organised and a real effort was made to keep the residents motivated and to make their stay in the home
safe and comfortable. Mum always looked very well presented and really enjoyed the delicious home-cooked food at the home. During my mother's final weeks in the care home before she passed away, the palliative care she received was uncompromising and gave us all the feeling she was being very well looked after and not alone. We can't thank all the management and staff enough for looking after Mum for the last year of her life, I know she was always very happy in Thurlaston Meadows throughout that time.

Since my aunt has returned into Thurlaston Meadows Care Home she has returned back to her previous pre-hospital self. Since the pandemic she has suffered badly healthwise, especially being in hospital for a good proportion of the last 12 months. Her newfound brightness and enjoyment of life again is
incredible to see, this is purely down to her fantastic care at Thurlaston. In the last three weeks she has mixed more, joined in activities and actually been out on trips more than the whole of the last four years. The staff are amazing.

I spent a week at Thurlaston Meadows recuperating from major surgery. It's in a small quiet village overlooking open countryside. My individual en suite room was pleasantly furnished and very comfortable. I especially appreciated the electrically operated rise and fall bed, new TV, adequate wardrobe
space and comfortable chair with footstool. All staff were caring, helpful and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble. There seemed to be adequate numbers of staff at all times. I was very grateful that they were able to pick me up from the hospital in a vehicle equipped with ramps and a wheelchair on hand. There were several choices for each meal and portion sizes were generous. My only minor quibble was the very early dinner time (5-5:30) but can understand the challenges of serving so many people and that this tends to be normal practice in the care sector. Overall a satisfactory experience and I would highly recommend this place for anyone in similar circumstances.

My mum was admitted to hospital with severe dehydration and was very poorly. Also, she has dementia. She went to Thurlaston on a discharge to assess for five weeks. The care she received was outstanding and turned Mum's life around. She was walking better, sleeping better - a totally different person
and able to take part in activities during the day ie Bingo, quizzes and dominoes. All the staff made Mum feel very welcome and cared for and gave her a meaningful hug on departure. Thank you to everyone who helped Mum onto a better future.

When the time came for Mum to need full-time care, I felt happy leaving her in this home, with its lovely setting in the village.
The staff were very caring and kept me informed about her welfare.
Night staff were very patient with her, she was warm and comfortable.
The home is not too big and the
lounge has a very homely feel to it.

I am a volunteer driver and such am unable to fill in all the boxes below but the resident I pick up says they should all be marked excellent!
The staff are all very pleasant and helpful. As my passenger is now in a wheelchair, there is always someone waiting to get the chair in and out of my car cheerfully!

I am writing this review as I feel that the staff and service providers at Thurlaston Meadows deserve recognition for the wonderful service that they provide. My brother and I were both sceptical about our father going into a care home and we had our reservations as to whether it was a good idea or
not however when our father went into Thurlaston Meadows he was welcomed by all and treated with kindness and dignity in a warm clean friendly environment. The care staff should be recognised for their constant support they always tried to encourage our father to join in the many activities on offer many of which he enjoyed. Our father passed away in December and the staff continued to be helpful and support to us at a difficult time. I do not write reviews as a rule but in this instance, I am happy to do so.

My mother stayed at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for 1 1/2 months after being hospitalised by a series of falls. We found the home to be clean, inviting and homely. I thought it seemed like a home rather than an institution, for example: friendly and welcoming. The staff are superb and could not help
us enough. If I had to be critical I would have to mention the lift which is old and needs updating otherwise in our view Thurlaston Meadows is very good indeed.

My father-in-law was at Thurlaston Meadows for Rehabilitation Care from September to December 2023. During his time there he made many friends amongst the kind and caring staff, and enjoyed the variety of activities laid on, from crafts to musical entertainment. He was particularly complimentary about
the quality and variety of the food. He was an exacting man with full cognitive awareness and strong views so he would have quickly raised any issues, of which there were none. I must especially thank the home manager and all the staff for their generous and loving support to both him and the rest of the family on the sudden death of his son during his stay there. We could not have asked for better care during his final days.

My dad spent three months in Thurlaston Meadows and was very comfortable and happy there. Unfortunately, he was quite poorly towards the end of his stay so did not join in with many activities. He was looking forward to returning after his last hospital stay but was unable to do so as he passed away.

An amazing home from home. The staff are all dedicated professionals that give excellent care to the residents and families of loved ones who stay at Thurlaston. We as a family always felt welcomed, respected and at ease, knowing that our loved one was having amazing care when we left them. From the

The care staff are excellent with my aunt who after a hospital visit was unable to live independently at home. At 94, she is well looked after and the care home provides lots of activities to keep the residents occupied and their brains stimulated. Whilst my aunt would prefer to be at home, she comments
on how good the food is and how she enjoys having her chats with the carers.

Elvira has experience working with elderly, frailty, dementia and mental health in residential care settings.

Angie has been a Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for five and a half years, where she oversees care shifts with dedication and compassion. Inspired by the exceptional care her family received at Myton Hospice during her father's battle with cancer, Angie chose to pursue a career in caregiving to make a positive difference in others' lives.


Angie began her career in care 12 years ago, working primarily on the dementia unit in a nursing and secure dementia home. She spent over five years there before joining Thurlaston Meadows in 2019. Angie holds an NVQ Level 3 in Social Care and is currently pursuing her Level 4 qualification. Additionally, she is a Mental Health First Aider, a First Aider, and a champion for several frameworks, including Veteran Friendly, Skin Integrity, Dementia, Medication, End of Life care, and Manual Handling training.

Emily started working at Thurlaston Meadows care home in March 2024 as a Receptionist, but has now changed roles and is well positioned in the Head of Activities role so that she can spend more time with the residents and improve the quality of activities within the home. The change in career came about from the wonderful care provided by the Macmillan nurses for her family a couple of years ago and a strong sense of wanting to give something back to the care industry.
