Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is a family-run care home that provides first-class care for elderly residents within a homely and relaxed environment. The dedicated and experienced caring team is committed to providing tailor-made care for each individual, ensuring each person is looked after with respect and dignity.

As well as permanent stay, the home also provides respite and recuperative care. Respite care allows the person's normal carer a break from their caring duties whilst recuperative care enables a person to recover from an illness or operation away from a clinical setting.

Thurlaston Meadows offers a choice of room styles to suit each individual's preference and budget. Some of the larger suites are designed for couples to share or for someone who requires more space.

Food is an important part of life at Thurlaston Meadows, providing healthy and appetising meals is a primary concern for the chef. Meals can be enjoyed in the bright and attractive dining room, in your room or outside on the terrace weather permitting.

The care staff are excellent with my aunt who after a hospital visit was unable to live independently at home. At 94, she is well looked after and the care home provides lots of activities to keep the residents occupied and their brains stimulated. Whilst my aunt would prefer to be at home, she comments
on how good the food is and how she enjoys having her chats with the carers.

My mum has been a resident at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for nearly two years. She has been extremely happy there - she does believe she works there, due to her dementia! She is treated with extreme respect, made to feel safe, she is well fed and very well looked after. We feel her care goes beyond
just caring and we are always made to feel welcome and informed of any changes with the home or indeed with Mum.

Only my second opportunity to visit a dear friend at your excellent care home. The resident moved to a quiet area giving us privacy and the opportunity to chat away from other residents and activities going on. Staff popped over several times to make sure we were alright and an excellent welcome - cup
of tea and biscuits for us all. Not able to rate all boxes on a short visit, but those I can will all be excellent.

This place is amazing. Really cares for its residents. Goes over and above to make their experience a pleasurable one. Staff are very respectful, helpful and kind. Food is delicious and homemade. Any issues or worries are swiftly looked at and dealt with. Really feel like I am listened to, if there
are any concerns which are rare. Residents have lots of interaction and entertainment laid on. They are comfortable and we now find it hard to get my mum out and about for the day as she is worried about missing out on things at the home. I would recommend and give 5 stars. Overall, top-notch. Thank you for giving our family peace of mind that my Mum is being well cared for.

Look no further if you are looking for a quality home for your loved one. We cannot thank Thurlaston Meadows enough for the care our father enjoyed for nearly 18 months, all while enjoying the tranquil country setting. So many remarkable staff. The food is second to none and the most important was that
Dad found friends and happiness. Dad went from not wanting to move there as he wanted to stay at home, to a 2-week stay after a fall and then one night back at his own home to ask if he could go back to Thurlaston - the next day he moved in and never looked back! Gave us such peace of mind, knowing he was being cared for by people with a genuine love for what they do. Thank you to everyone at Thurlaston Meadow, you are amazing.

My Dad received absolutely outstanding care and all the staff made sure all his medical needs were met at all times. Made my mum very welcome and invited her to spend time with my Dad for lunches and activities during his stay. All staff at all times, were caring, kind and professional. They were always

Mum has resided at Thurlaston Meadows for nearly three years. We could not be happier with her experience there. Mum feels safe, comfortable, very well cared for and well known. She feels her room is her own place and enjoys having her things around her. Her window overlooks the beautifully kept garden
and further out to the big lawn and to the trees which border the grounds. The birds which visit the bird feeder outside her window, the squirrels and rabbits which appear, all add to her enjoyment every day. There are lots of communal activities and outings. Meals are social and shared in the dining room. The big sitting room is large, full of light and has doors out to the patio garden so it is easy for Mum to get outside and walk about. The carers are great company, they could not be kinder or more considerate and the reception staff are immediately responsive, whenever I email, and the newsletter keeps us all up to date with Mum's life. We feel very lucky that Mum lives at Thurlaston.

Mum told everyone how happy and lucky she was at Thurlaston Meadows. Being blind can be very scary but the wonderful staff soon helped her settle in and were thoughtful, kind, patient and kept her informed so she soon felt safe and secure. The homemade food was wonderful and she soon recovered her strength
and appetite. Her lovely room was big and airy with her own bathroom. She loved the activities, especially the regular visiting musicians. As well as the resident dog, Jason, she loved the visiting dogs and even horses, brought in by staff. Over two years she enjoyed the company of other residents, loving walks around the village, as well as family trips out. The gardens are wonderful and Mum loved sitting outside in the warm sunshine listening to the birds and running water. Everywhere was clean and well maintained. The standard of end-of-life care was compassionate, thanks to the loving staff and the support of local doctors. I thoroughly recommend Thurlaston Meadows Care home.

We struggled with the decision that Mum needed to go into a care home. We looked at several, and they were pretty much as we expected. Then we looked at Thurlaston Meadows, we could not go inside due to Covid restrictions, but we met two senior staff outside and looked in through windows. What struck
me was the dining room, table cloths and flower arrangements, it looked like a hotel dining room! We could see staff interacting with residents, activities going on.
The house and gardens are fantastic, but it is the staff that provide the quality and standard of care. All staff have been friendly and welcoming. Mum is clearly very happy and enjoying the wide range of activities and entertainment! Although she has dementia, we would definitely know if she was not happy about something! Staff take the time to ask us questions about Mums past and interests, so they know what to chat to her about. For me, that says an awful lot, they do not need to go out of their way like that, but they do.

My father-in-law was only here for a little while, but the kindness shown to him was exceptional. Towards the end of his life, he was shown the utmost care and attention from everyone involved. Although we hadn't been able to enter the property due to Covid, it was great to have the garden pod, which

Mom came to stay in July 2020 at Thurlaston Meadows. When she arrived, Mom was very anxious as she suffers from dementia, and change has a massive effect on her. But with the love, care and kindness of the staff and management she soon settled and is very happy.
Mom goes on her daily walks and is encouraged
to participate in the many activities they have available, she has also put on weight (which was greatly needed) with the fantastic food and choices available. I can't recommend Thurlaston Meadows enough. It was very hard for me to make the decision that it was time for Mom to have professional help, but I wish, now, I would have done it sooner!
Lastly, I just want to say a big thank you to everyone for everything you do for Mom. I couldn't ask for more, and thank you for giving me peace of mind.

My mother was a resident at Thurlaston Meadows for just over two years and has, unfortunately, recently passed away. I and my family are very grateful that my mother was able to outlive her last years in such a lovely place, amongst beautiful surroundings receiving the best care we could have ever wished
for. I would like to thank all of the staff who looked after her during this time, nothing is too much trouble for them, and all of the staff are always very friendly and welcoming. I would also like to thank all of the external staff who have also had a part to play in caring for my mother during her time at Thurlaston, such as local GP, Chiropodist's, Dentist's etc.

Elvira Demaine

Elvira’s passion for care has grown in health and social care from the age of 16. The roles consisted of support worker/ carer, senior carer, lifestyle coach, care coordinator, care manager, and head of care, which have flourished into a proud care home manager. In addition to ongoing mandatory training, Elvira has completed her extended diploma in health and social care and holds an honours degree in health and social care.


Elvira has experience working with elderly, frailty, dementia and mental health in residential care settings.


Creating a happy, homely and friendly environment that is safe for Residents to live and for staff to work is paramount. This includes ensuring residents' needs are met through person-centred care so that their quality of life can continue to bloom. Jonathan Perry

Jonathan Perry is the Finance Director and joined Thurlaston Meadows in February 2014.


The Perry family have been running the home since 1991. The home is committed to delivering personalised care and support to its residents and their relatives. Jonathan is deeply involved in operating a Quality Management System to ensure the home provides the best care in a homely environment. His vision focuses on continuous improvement across all areas of the business, valuing the support and suggestions from residents, families, and staff.


Jonathan believes that recognising everyone's contribution is key to the home's success.


Jack

Jack Perry

Job Title: HR Manager

Joined: 2013

Jack began his journey at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home in 2013, working part-time in the kitchen. After completing his education with the Peter Jones Business Enterprise Course at Warwickshire College in 2014, he transitioned to a full-time role at Thurlaston Meadows, starting as an Admin Assistant in the office. Through dedication and hard work, Jack gradually advanced to the position of HR Manager, where he now takes responsibility for the company's payroll and recruitment processes.

Nicky Hazzard

Job Title: Quality and Compliance Manager

Nicky began her career in the pharmaceutical industry, working with the NHS, Prison Service, and Community sectors. Over time, Nicky transitioned into Quality and Compliance roles within the Health and Social Care sector.


Nicky says, "Since joining the Thurlaston Meadows family in July 2023, I have felt incredibly welcomed and supported. In Health and Social Care, it's crucial to meet the fundamental standards of being Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well-Led. Linda Davies

Job Title: Catering Manager

Joined: 2016

Lyn Davies brings over 30 years of catering experience, with 20 of those years dedicated to the care sector.


Her background spans various settings, from neurological centres to nursing and residential homes. Lyn is highly knowledgeable in meeting diverse dietary requirements but prides herself on creating delicious, home-cooked meals that are both well-presented and appetizing.


Her patisserie chef, Carol, is exceptionally talented at producing mouth-watering cakes and pastries.


Lyn firmly believes in ensuring that every resident enjoys the foods they need and love, reflecting her and her team's commitment to quality and satisfaction.

Jenna Tapp

Job Title: Office & Training Manager

I began my professional journey at Thurlaston Meadows in July 2018 as part of the reception team.


After spending many years in the childcare sector, I decided it was time for a change. What a good decision I made, as I haven’t looked back! Over the years my job role has grown into a career, I thoroughly enjoy.


My current position within the company is Office/Training Manager, of which my duties include supporting the daily running of the reception office and managing the training for the company workforce.


Recognising the crucial role of training in the care sector, we ensure it receives continuous attention. Alongside Mandatory training, we encourage and support staff to pursue further learning opportunities that are relevant to their roles.


Thurlaston Meadows holds a special place in my heart. It’s a genuinely caring environment, where the owners and directors strive to create a safe, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere for both residents and staff.

Sam Tuckey

Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Joined: 2022

Sam began his professional journey with Thurlaston Meadows Care Home in May 2022 as Head of Maintenance, working alongside a team of two other maintenance staff.


With a decade of experience in industrial maintenance and commissioning for heavy plant equipment, Sam has worked in diverse roles across agriculture, aerospace, and the steel industry. His passion for family and caring for relatives led him into the adult care industry, where he thrived in a facilities management role for a large franchise.


In 2022, Sam seized an incredible opportunity to join the exemplary team at Thurlaston Meadows. He now oversees and manages the health, safety, and welfare of the site and the residents' environment. His role involves working with legislation, ensuring compliance, and applying various manual and hands-on skills.

Angie

Angie Jones

Job Title: Team Leader

Joined: 2019

Angie has been a Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for five and a half years, where she oversees care shifts with dedication and compassion. Inspired by the exceptional care her family received at Myton Hospice during her father's battle with cancer, Angie chose to pursue a career in caregiving to make a positive difference in others' lives.


Angie began her career in care 12 years ago, working primarily on the dementia unit in a nursing and secure dementia home. She spent over five years there before joining Thurlaston Meadows in 2019. Angie holds an NVQ Level 3 in Social Care and is currently pursuing her Level 4 qualification. Additionally, she is a Mental Health First Aider, a First Aider, and a champion for several frameworks, including Veteran Friendly, Skin Integrity, Dementia, Medication, End of Life care, and Manual Handling training.


Angie takes immense pride in the excellent care provided to the residents and is dedicated to ensuring their happiness and well-being. She says, "I am more than happy here. I take pride in the excellent care that our residents receive and seeing how happy they are."

Emily Clews

Job Title: Head of Activities

Joined: 2024

Emily started working at Thurlaston Meadows care home in March 2024 as a Receptionist, but has now changed roles and is well positioned in the Head of Activities role so that she can spend more time with the residents and improve the quality of activities within the home. The change in career came about from the wonderful care provided by the Macmillan nurses for her family a couple of years ago and a strong sense of wanting to give something back to the care industry. Emily is passionate about making a difference and firmly believes that ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’ and will go above and beyond to help someone. Emily is motivated by bringing laughter and happiness to Thurlaston Meadows, seeing the residents and staff smile and by creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels that they are listened to. Her specialities include cognitive games and adapted sports and exercise – particularly enjoying the armchair exercises in the morning with Oomph on Demand, playing group games with the residents and bringing creative ideas to our arts & crafts.

I embarked on my professional journey at Thurlaston Meadows in January 2022 as part of the care team. After many years in the pub trade (2017-2020) and the warehouse industry (1997-2020), I decided it was time for a change. During this transition, I achieved my NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, as well as my Level 2 in Team Leadership.


My journey into care began in 2021, working as a care assistant for vulnerable adults in their homes, ensuring their safety and providing social and emotional support. This experience sparked a passion in me for making a difference in the lives of the elderly.


Currently, I serve as the nightshift Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows. My responsibilities include overseeing a team and ensuring the delivery of quality care, fostering a safe and friendly environment for both residents and staff. Along the way, I have also completed my NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.

Chris Howard

Job Title: Lead Receptionist

Chris Howard, our dedicated Lead Receptionist, Staff Council Leader and Digital Champion has been an integral part of Thurlaston Meadows since January 2024. With a warm smile and a welcoming demeanour, Chris is the unifying link in our communication hub. Whether answering calls or greeting visitors at reception, Chris ensures that everyone feels valued and heard.


But Chris’s journey didn’t start here. Back in April 2010, he embarked on a career in care—a path that would shape his passion and purpose. As a care assistant for vulnerable adults in their own homes, Chris discovered his calling. His empathy, patience, and commitment made a difference in the lives of those he cared for.


In June 2015, Chris took on the role of a field-care supervisor, overseeing a team and ensuring quality care delivery. Along the way, he earned his NVQ level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, further enhancing his expertise.
