Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is a family-run care home that provides first-class care for elderly residents within a homely and relaxed environment. The dedicated and experienced caring team is committed to providing tailor-made care for each individual, ensuring each person is looked after with respect and dignity.

As well as permanent stay, the home also provides respite and recuperative care. Respite care allows the person's normal carer a break from their caring duties whilst recuperative care enables a person to recover from an illness or operation away from a clinical setting.

Thurlaston Meadows offers a choice of room styles to suit each individual's preference and budget. Some of the larger suites are designed for couples to share or for someone who requires more space.

Food is an important part of life at Thurlaston Meadows, providing healthy and appetising meals is a primary concern for the chef. Meals can be enjoyed in the bright and attractive dining room, in your room or outside on the terrace weather permitting.

My father died in Thurlaston Meadows Care Home on 28th July 2020 aged 93. For over twelve years this was his home and, during all that time, he received the best care I could wish for. The staff are caring and proficient and the accommodation is second to none. It is a family-run concern in a lovely
setting. What more can I say. If you are considering a care home for your loved one put this at the top of your list.

My mother has just turned 96 and has been at Thurlaston for nearly a year. Friends and relatives cannot believe how much stronger she is than when she went in and how much more ‘with it’. This is undoubtedly due to good care and nutrition. The home has a lovely atmosphere, the staff get on well with
the residents and there is a continuity of care. My mother loves a little wander into the gardens to see the robins, the squirrels and the odd chicken. Best of all has been the care during lockdown with the staff even locking down with them so that we had no concerns. Finally, we were invited to meet for a provided picnic in the grounds.

My mother began residing at Thurlaston last year, it was a difficult decision but her physical health was deteriorating, and she clearly needed 24/7 support. Within a few days of mum being at the home, I relaxed knowing we had made the right decision for her. The staff were amazing ensuring she felt
welcomed and enabled her to socialise with the other residents. They listened carefully to her wishes and always acted in her best interests. The care home regularly put on musical shows, celebratory afternoon teas, quizzes and endless activities, some of which I have attended, particularly enjoying the foodie ones. Mum has gained much-needed weight since being at Thurlaston which is clearly down to the lovely food and the many delicious choices.
I cannot extend my thanks enough during the COVID outbreak and the commitment the staff have made to live in on a two-week rotation basis, in an attempt to reduce the risk of infection, absolutely above and beyond. Thank you.

My Uncle is a resident of Thurlaston Meadows and moved in about three months ago. He is 93 and had lived on his own for many years. Having looked at what care homes were available, I chose TMCH because of its impressive staff (at all levels), idyllic countryside location and superb facilities. Now with
the benefit of experience, I cannot recommend Thurlaston Meadows too highly. It is a fantastic care home and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. My Uncle is now in a safe place, is well looked after and thanks to the superb kitchen is even putting on weight.

Dad has been looked after very well by all the lovely staff here. It was comforting to know we didn't need to worry about him for two weeks and just be able to visit. It has been good for Dad too as his general health is so much better. It's been a good rest for us all.

Throughout my father's stay at Thurlaston Meadows, I was continually impressed by the exceptional levels of care and support given to him. Every single member of staff I met showed such kindness, support and professionalism, it made the process of moving from hospital to residential care so much easier
for my father (and me).
The facilities at Thurlaston Meadows are as exceptional as their staff. Freshly prepared food (with varied daily menus) cooked on-site using fresh ingredients and served in a lovely dining room with doors opening onto the terrace. Bright and welcoming orangery complete with a grand piano and easy access to the terrace and grounds; varied and well thought out activities arranged to engage and entertain residents. Thurlaston Meadows has the ambience of a country house hotel.
In my opinion, Thurlaston Meadows is a gold standard for care homes in Warwickshire (I only wish I could move in myself).

My mother was a resident of Thurlaston Meadows for 3 months prior to her death. She was admitted at short notice due to my father going into hospital and due to his death became a permanent resident. Mum was still quite active and I was particularly impressed with the way the staff allowed her as much
freedom as was safely possible.


The care my mother received was exceptional and she often told me how happy she was at the home and how well cared for she was.


The food at the home is of excellent quality, all cooked on the premises. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff and their kindness should be noted.


Mum was happy and well cared for, her room overlooked the beautiful garden and the many activities organised were very much appreciated by Mum.


Thank you so much. At this very difficult time, my family and I can rest assured Mum received the best care possible with the staff going above and beyond what was required.

Good food. Staff very helpful. No complaints. Some residents very noisy but it is a care home not a hotel. All staff very helpful to my wife who went there to recover from a fall (aged 85yrs)

Having visited this care home over a period of 4 years as I have a friend who is a resident there, I always found 'the carers' really attentive to their responsibilities. Elvira Demaine

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2024

Elvira’s passion for care has grown in health and social care from the age of 16. The roles consisted of support worker/ carer, senior carer, lifestyle coach, care coordinator, care manager, and head of care, which have flourished into a proud care home manager. In addition to ongoing mandatory training, Elvira has completed her extended diploma in health and social care and holds an honours degree in health and social care.


Elvira has experience working with elderly, frailty, dementia and mental health in residential care settings.


Creating a happy, homely and friendly environment that is safe for Residents to live and for staff to work is paramount. This includes ensuring residents' needs are met through person-centred care so that their quality of life can continue to bloom. Lyn Davies brings over 30 years of catering experience, with 20 of those years dedicated to the care sector.


Her background spans various settings, from neurological centres to nursing and residential homes. Lyn is highly knowledgeable in meeting diverse dietary requirements but prides herself on creating delicious, home-cooked meals that are both well-presented and appetizing.


Her patisserie chef, Carol, is exceptionally talented at producing mouth-watering cakes and pastries.

After spending many years in the childcare sector, I decided it was time for a change. What a good decision I made, as I haven’t looked back! Over the years my job role has grown into a career, I thoroughly enjoy.


My current position within the company is Office/Training Manager, of which my duties include supporting the daily running of the reception office and managing the training for the company workforce.


Recognising the crucial role of training in the care sector, we ensure it receives continuous attention. Alongside Mandatory training, we encourage and support staff to pursue further learning opportunities that are relevant to their roles.


Thurlaston Meadows holds a special place in my heart. It’s a genuinely caring environment, where the owners and directors strive to create a safe, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere for both residents and staff.

Sam began his professional journey with Thurlaston Meadows Care Home in May 2022 as Head of Maintenance, working alongside a team of two other maintenance staff.


With a decade of experience in industrial maintenance and commissioning for heavy plant equipment, Sam has worked in diverse roles across agriculture, aerospace, and the steel industry. His passion for family and caring for relatives led him into the adult care industry, where he thrived in a facilities management role for a large franchise.


In 2022, Sam seized an incredible opportunity to join the exemplary team at Thurlaston Meadows. He now oversees and manages the health, safety, and welfare of the site and the residents' environment. His role involves working with legislation, ensuring compliance, and applying various manual and hands-on skills.

Angie has been a Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for five and a half years, where she oversees care shifts with dedication and compassion. Inspired by the exceptional care her family received at Myton Hospice during her father's battle with cancer, Angie chose to pursue a career in caregiving to make a positive difference in others' lives.


Angie began her career in care 12 years ago, working primarily on the dementia unit in a nursing and secure dementia home. She spent over five years there before joining Thurlaston Meadows in 2019. Angie holds an NVQ Level 3 in Social Care and is currently pursuing her Level 4 qualification. Additionally, she is a Mental Health First Aider, a First Aider, and a champion for several frameworks, including Veteran Friendly, Skin Integrity, Dementia, Medication, End of Life care, and Manual Handling training.


Angie takes immense pride in the excellent care provided to the residents and is dedicated to ensuring their happiness and well-being. She says, "I am more than happy here. I take pride in the excellent care that our residents receive and seeing how happy they are."

Emily Clews

Job Title: Head of Activities

Emily started working at Thurlaston Meadows care home in March 2024 as a Receptionist, but has now changed roles and is well positioned in the Head of Activities role so that she can spend more time with the residents and improve the quality of activities within the home. The change in career came about from the wonderful care provided by the Macmillan nurses for her family a couple of years ago and a strong sense of wanting to give something back to the care industry. Emily is passionate about making a difference and firmly believes that ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’ and will go above and beyond to help someone. Emily is motivated by bringing laughter and happiness to Thurlaston Meadows, seeing the residents and staff smile and by creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels that they are listened to. Her specialities include cognitive games and adapted sports and exercise – particularly enjoying the armchair exercises in the morning with Oomph on Demand, playing group games with the residents and bringing creative ideas to our arts & crafts.

I embarked on my professional journey at Thurlaston Meadows in January 2022 as part of the care team. After many years in the pub trade (2017-2020) and the warehouse industry (1997-2020), I decided it was time for a change. During this transition, I achieved my NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, as well as my Level 2 in Team Leadership.


My journey into care began in 2021, working as a care assistant for vulnerable adults in their homes, ensuring their safety and providing social and emotional support. This experience sparked a passion in me for making a difference in the lives of the elderly.


Currently, I serve as the nightshift Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows. My responsibilities include overseeing a team and ensuring the delivery of quality care, fostering a safe and friendly environment for both residents and staff. Along the way, I have also completed my NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.

Chris Howard

Job Title: Lead Receptionist

Chris Howard, our dedicated Lead Receptionist, Staff Council Leader and Digital Champion has been an integral part of Thurlaston Meadows since January 2024. With a warm smile and a welcoming demeanour, Chris is the unifying link in our communication hub. Whether answering calls or greeting visitors at reception, Chris ensures that everyone feels valued and heard.


But Chris’s journey didn’t start here. Back in April 2010, he embarked on a career in care—a path that would shape his passion and purpose. As a care assistant for vulnerable adults in their own homes, Chris discovered his calling. His empathy, patience, and commitment made a difference in the lives of those he cared for.


In June 2015, Chris took on the role of a field-care supervisor, overseeing a team and ensuring quality care delivery. Along the way, he earned his NVQ level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, further enhancing his expertise.
