Thurlaston Meadows Care Home is a family-run care home that provides first-class care for elderly residents within a homely and relaxed environment. The dedicated and experienced caring team is committed to providing tailor-made care for each individual, ensuring each person is looked after with respect and dignity.

As well as permanent stay, the home also provides respite and recuperative care. Respite care allows the person's normal carer a break from their caring duties whilst recuperative care enables a person to recover from an illness or operation away from a clinical setting.

Thurlaston Meadows offers a choice of room styles to suit each individual's preference and budget. Some of the larger suites are designed for couples to share or for someone who requires more space.

Food is an important part of life at Thurlaston Meadows, providing healthy and appetising meals is a primary concern for the chef. Meals can be enjoyed in the bright and attractive dining room, in your room or outside on the terrace weather permitting.

Daily entertainment and stimulating events inside and outside are part of everyday life at the Meadows, which can be enjoyed by everyone or for those who wish to relax in a quiet lounge or library, this is available too.

Both my mother and late father have been residents for 3 years. I am happy that this care home provides a stable and good standard of service for my mother who is in her 90's. She seems happy and settled and joins in with the other residents.

On the whole, had a good experience. Staff are friendly, especially the receptionists. My father has received good care and the staff have handled him well.


The only negative is that the home is very dated and could do with a refurb to bring it more up to date.

Thank you for extending your appreciation to the Home, especially to our staff who were saddened when your father had to transfer to a nursing home as a result of the Home's transition into a residential care home. The transition had brought several changes as well as future improvements to the Home, which shall include building a new Orangery to update and enlarge the communal lounges including refurbishments of the Orchard Court Residents Room which shall have a similar theme as the double en-suites built/refurbished in May/June 2016.

Staff were friendly and kind to my Mother.
The home was clean and efficiently run in a period of my mother's life that need expertise and kindness.
The staff were always willing to help when called upon. Nothing was too much for them.
Management formulated a care plan which was altered as my Mothers
condition changed.
The homes Doctor was called to my Mother due to her medical needs.
The grounds of the home are beautifully kept. Although she was in no fit state to go out she enjoyed looking out, as Gardening was one of her favourite pass times.
There are plenty of activities for residents to join in if they so wish.

A lovely home in a quiet village location with beautiful countryside surrounding it. A warm welcome on every visit from the receptionists and from staff. The atmosphere in the home is very relaxing, warm and homely. Any concerns or questions to ask, the staff are straight onto it. Everywhere is spotlessly
clean. The domestic staff do a great job.

The staff at The Warwickshire Nursing & Residential Home were all extremely friendly, caring, attentive to my uncle and me. His suite was beautifully furnished and overlooked the extensive gardens and terrace. The food was varied and appealing with a good choice. There were many events organised, regular
outside entertainers provided for the residents' enjoyment.

The staff right from the receptionist, cleaners, kitchen staff, carers and the nurses (day and night) were all exceptionally approachable, friendly and very professional. It was like home from home. From the beginning of Moms stay until the end. Upon Moms arrival everybody who was working that day
came into her room and introduced themselves which I found to be very warm and welcoming. I never had any regrets about moving Mom to the Warwickshire other than Mom, who loved her room and the view, passed away too quickly.

Elvira Demaine

Job Title: Home Manager

Joined: 2024

Elvira’s passion for care has grown in health and social care from the age of 16. The roles consisted of support worker/ carer, senior carer, lifestyle coach, care coordinator, care manager, and head of care, which have flourished into a proud care home manager. In addition to ongoing mandatory training, Elvira has completed her extended diploma in health and social care and holds an honours degree in health and social care.


Elvira has experience working with elderly, frailty, dementia and mental health in residential care settings.


Creating a happy, homely and friendly environment that is safe for Residents to live and for staff to work is paramount. This includes ensuring residents' needs are met through person-centred care so that their quality of life can continue to bloom. Lyn Davies brings over 30 years of catering experience, with 20 of those years dedicated to the care sector.


Her background spans various settings, from neurological centres to nursing and residential homes. Lyn is highly knowledgeable in meeting diverse dietary requirements but prides herself on creating delicious, home-cooked meals that are both well-presented and appetizing.


Her patisserie chef, Carol, is exceptionally talented at producing mouth-watering cakes and pastries.

I began my professional journey at Thurlaston Meadows in July 2018 as part of the reception team.


After spending many years in the childcare sector, I decided it was time for a change. What a good decision I made, as I haven’t looked back! Over the years my job role has grown into a career, I thoroughly enjoy.


My current position within the company is Office/Training Manager, of which my duties include supporting the daily running of the reception office and managing the training for the company workforce.


Recognising the crucial role of training in the care sector, we ensure it receives continuous attention. Alongside Mandatory training, we encourage and support staff to pursue further learning opportunities that are relevant to their roles.


Thurlaston Meadows holds a special place in my heart. It’s a genuinely caring environment, where the owners and directors strive to create a safe, welcoming, and friendly atmosphere for both residents and staff.

Sam Tuckey

Job Title: Head of Maintenance

Sam began his professional journey with Thurlaston Meadows Care Home in May 2022 as Head of Maintenance, working alongside a team of two other maintenance staff.


With a decade of experience in industrial maintenance and commissioning for heavy plant equipment, Sam has worked in diverse roles across agriculture, aerospace, and the steel industry. His passion for family and caring for relatives led him into the adult care industry, where he thrived in a facilities management role for a large franchise.


In 2022, Sam seized an incredible opportunity to join the exemplary team at Thurlaston Meadows. He now oversees and manages the health, safety, and welfare of the site and the residents' environment. His role involves working with legislation, ensuring compliance, and applying various manual and hands-on skills.

Angie Jones

Job Title: Team Leader

Joined: 2019

Angie has been a Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows Care Home for five and a half years, where she oversees care shifts with dedication and compassion. Inspired by the exceptional care her family received at Myton Hospice during her father's battle with cancer, Angie chose to pursue a career in caregiving to make a positive difference in others' lives.


Angie began her career in care 12 years ago, working primarily on the dementia unit in a nursing and secure dementia home. She spent over five years there before joining Thurlaston Meadows in 2019. Angie holds an NVQ Level 3 in Social Care and is currently pursuing her Level 4 qualification. Additionally, she is a Mental Health First Aider, a First Aider, and a champion for several frameworks, including Veteran Friendly, Skin Integrity, Dementia, Medication, End of Life care, and Manual Handling training.


Angie takes immense pride in the excellent care provided to the residents and is dedicated to ensuring their happiness and well-being. She says, "I am more than happy here. I take pride in the excellent care that our residents receive and seeing how happy they are."

Emily Clews

Job Title: Head of Activities

Emily started working at Thurlaston Meadows care home in March 2024 as a Receptionist, but has now changed roles and is well positioned in the Head of Activities role so that she can spend more time with the residents and improve the quality of activities within the home. The change in career came about from the wonderful care provided by the Macmillan nurses for her family a couple of years ago and a strong sense of wanting to give something back to the care industry. Emily is passionate about making a difference and firmly believes that ‘where there’s a will, there’s a way’ and will go above and beyond to help someone. Emily is motivated by bringing laughter and happiness to Thurlaston Meadows, seeing the residents and staff smile and by creating a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels that they are listened to. Her specialities include cognitive games and adapted sports and exercise – particularly enjoying the armchair exercises in the morning with Oomph on Demand, playing group games with the residents and bringing creative ideas to our arts & crafts.

I embarked on my professional journey at Thurlaston Meadows in January 2022 as part of the care team. After many years in the pub trade (2017-2020) and the warehouse industry (1997-2020), I decided it was time for a change. During this transition, I achieved my NVQ Level 3 in Hospitality Supervision and Leadership, as well as my Level 2 in Team Leadership.


My journey into care began in 2021, working as a care assistant for vulnerable adults in their homes, ensuring their safety and providing social and emotional support. This experience sparked a passion in me for making a difference in the lives of the elderly.


Currently, I serve as the nightshift Team Leader at Thurlaston Meadows. My responsibilities include overseeing a team and ensuring the delivery of quality care, fostering a safe and friendly environment for both residents and staff. Along the way, I have also completed my NVQ Level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care.

Job Title: Lead Receptionist

Chris Howard, our dedicated Lead Receptionist, Staff Council Leader and Digital Champion has been an integral part of Thurlaston Meadows since January 2024. With a warm smile and a welcoming demeanour, Chris is the unifying link in our communication hub. Whether answering calls or greeting visitors at reception, Chris ensures that everyone feels valued and heard.


But Chris’s journey didn’t start here. Back in April 2010, he embarked on a career in care—a path that would shape his passion and purpose. As a care assistant for vulnerable adults in their own homes, Chris discovered his calling. His empathy, patience, and commitment made a difference in the lives of those he cared for.


In June 2015, Chris took on the role of a field-care supervisor, overseeing a team and ensuring quality care delivery. Along the way, he earned his NVQ level 3 qualification in Health and Social Care, further enhancing his expertise.
