Great care home, feel my nan is looked after fairly well. Sometimes no staff around in the day room, however majority of staff are friendly, easy to speak to, and treat us all like family. Always feel welcome when visiting. One staff member in particular always goes out of her way to speak to us on
every visit, whether it's a quick hello, or a general chat. Only downside is when arriving (especially at weekends) when nobody is on reception, the buzzer doesn't seem to attract attention to staff, and therefore, can be waiting up to 15 mins to be let in to see our relatives. Overall though, it's a good care home and I would recommend.

On entering the care home we are always greeted with friendly smiling faces from the reception team. The manager, nurses, and carers are always very hard-working, busy, caring, and very helpful ,they are all friendly and approachable and always willing to help if you have any questions that need answering.
The entertainments lady is always working very hard everyday to find different things to keep all the residents interested and happy.

Generally good care and food is good. The manager is very helpful, as are both the receptionists. Regularly do activities with the residents like bingo, dominoes and painting sometimes. Mum likes the exercises which one staff member in particular does a couple of times a week.

My mum is resident at Cedar Court Nursing Home and is really well looked after by amazing staff. Mum moved from another home and has come on so much. Mum loves the entertainment and crafts they have on daily. Every time I visit mum, she looks happy and content.

My wife has been in Cedar Court for the past 5 months and in that time, I have seen a great improvement in her eating and drinking. The staff have worked very hard to make this happen. She is always clean and tidy looking. The staff are very welcoming and helpful, so overall I'm pleased with the care
she is receiving.

The manager is clearly dedicated and very approachable. Her team of carers and nurses are very caring and efficient. The consistent provision of permanent staff (non-agency) helps maintain standards. I have every confidence in the good care; my wife is always clean, dressed and kept comfortable throughout
the day. The team are welcoming to visitors and keep me well-informed.

Dad was admitted initially for emergency respite. It was immediately apparent that the quality of care, the environment and thoughtfulness of the staff were exactly what he needed to continue with a safe, healthy and dignified life. As a family, we have every confidence in the quality of care he is

I was delighted with the change in my brother after his transfer to Cedar Court Nursing Home. I was happy to see him up and obviously less agitated. The staff have worked hard to improve his general well-being and I can't thank them enough. I live a great distance away and therefore rely on the staff
totally. I am kept well informed and they are lovely when I get down to visit. I have been very happy to leave my brother in their care this past year. Thanks.

Having made the decision to remove my mother from a brand new dementia home in our local vicinity we were recommended Cedar Court Nursing Home. The manager conducted us around Cedar Court to see all their facilities and to meet staff. The home was clean and homely and all the staff were very friendly.
Although the home was fifty minutes away we made the decision to take Mum there. Mum has settled in well. Her anxiety levels have dropped tremendously and her physical care is far, far better. Last year she was a frightened old lady of 99, badly bruised by mishandling and now she’s much calmer. The staff are bright and cheerful and I am confident Mum’s welfare is well catered for.

My mother has always received the very best care and attention during her stay. Although she has been in bed the whole time, she has and never has had, any breakdown of her skin which is truly remarkable given that she is now over 100 years of age, which is a testament to the quality of care she receives.

My wife has been a resident since 2015 and all the staff have been and still are brilliant. Always there to help and very friendly. I can't speak too highly of the staff. I just hope the owners realise what good and loyal staff they employ. I sometimes feel that they are under-appreciated by the management.

I am very happy with my mother's care at Cedar Court. She is well looked after. The care staff are very well trained and are excellent with the help they give my mother. My first visit to the care home today, a bit difficult to find. I think a better postcode would help with the sat nav that guided me to a muddy field. After a call to the care home, suitable instructions were given, maybe they could be added to the website. A warm welcome was given to me on arrival.
This is a clean secure place, set in very nice surroundings.

Job Title: Home Manager

"I have been the registered manager at Cedar Court Nursing Home since 2000, having started my career here in 1987. I have enjoyed those 34 years immensely. I qualified as a registered nurse in 1979 at Burton Hospital, fulfilling a lifelong ambition. I decided I wanted to be a nurse when I was four years old. Initially, I worked on the geriatric ward at Burton, followed by training as a midwife. I took a break after the birth of my first son, but returned to my calling when I started work at Cedar Court.


During my working life at Cedar Court, I have been able to recognise the passion that started when I was very young; to care for people. Cedar Court has enabled me to follow this calling in every way imaginable. It is such a special place for me, and this is enhanced by the team of dedicated staff who I work alongside. In my role as Home Manager I am able to maintain close contact with the staff and join them in the care we deliver to improve the daily lives of those entrusted to us. In my personal life I am married to John. He is the reason I can commit to my work, as he supports me every step of the way. I was able to return to work six weeks after the birth of my second son 24 years ago, as he was there to care for him. I live quite locally in a small village, but do not drive so John is also my chauffeur. My career has become a family affair in some ways! I feel honoured to be working for Cedar Court and have lots of fond memories over the years. This is complimented by my family life when I can spend time gardening, going fishing with my husband and enjoying the countryside. I feel so lucky to have recognised my dream, the majority of which has been at Cedar Court."
