Mum was only in Cedar Court Dementia Care Home briefly before she passed away, but the care she received was second to none. The manager and her team of dedicated carers looked after her with great sensitivity, love and respect. Similarly, the way they welcomed our family when visiting Mum was wonderfully
sympathetic and understanding.
Our wish would be that Mum transferred there sooner as she just might have been with us longer.
Moving a loved one into care is never an easy choice. Knowing the care experienced first-hand, I would recommend this home to anyone considering such a placement.

The manager has gone above and beyond the call of duty to welcome my mum, make her feel at home and meet her individual needs. The manager and all of her staff are so kind, warm and friendly - they show genuine care and concern for the residents they look after and every one of them shows compassion
and understanding of the residents' needs. Mum had a beautiful, large, well-equipped bedroom while she stayed here, with a lovely view of the very pretty garden. Would not hesitate to recommend.

My dad has recently moved to Cedar Court at the age of 89. We couldn’t be more pleased with the care and support he has received from all staff at the home. He has lived alone for a long time and we were really concerned over how he would settle. He is happy and content and is clearly being well looked
after, which brings us tremendous peace of mind. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone looking for quality care for an elderly relative.

Dad entered into Cedar Court Dementia Care Home in May and especially in these difficult times the staff were very reassuring and kind during Dads transfer from home. They seem to work tirelessly and despite this are always considerate and helpful. Dad's room is lovely and the views and tranquillity
of the home are unsurpassed.

I recently reviewed Cedar Court, but today 3/7/2021 they have excelled themselves and have done something I've not seen for a good few years.
My husband was smiling whilst watching England play.
No one will ever know how much that smile means.
And it's down to the hard work, determination, and commitment
of the manager and all of her team.
Thank you.

I would like to say a huge thank you to all the team who have looked after my father-in-law during the last ten months.
When he was transferred from hospital to Cedar Court the initial thought was that he had limited time left with us due to his condition, but remarkably you have rebuilt his strength
and willingness to survive as well as being supportive to the family.
Thank you all seems so little, but we are just so grateful for what you have done for my father-in-law whilst battling a pandemic.

I moved into Cedar Court in July 2020, I have been met with such kindness from the staff. I think it's brilliant here. I have a pet bird to look after. I like to water the plants in the enclosed garden and I have recently planted some veg. I get to go out and walk with the dog, I do like animals. I
am able to keep some independence.

Last year after a short stay in hospital the doctors told me and my sister that there was nothing more that they could do to help my dad, and he only had a few weeks to live at the most, and that it would be in his best interest to move him into palliative care. A place was found for him at Cedar Court.
That was nearly a year ago now but due to care and attention paid to him by the superb care staff at Cedar Court, he is still with us. I am sure if it wasn't for the Cedar Court team he would not have survived beyond the time given to us by the hospital and cannot praise everyone at Cedar Court enough.

My dad has been at Cedar Court after searching for the best Residential Care Home.
The manageress is not only understanding of residents needs, but also their families.
The manageress and her team work tirelessly to not only support the residents but their families also.
Highly recommend.

My sister in law was taken into Cedar Court dementia unit last July. I have visited several times between July 2020 and June 2021. I have found all the staff to be very friendly and helpful. I was particularly impressed with an anniversary tea that they surprised the family with, it was a very touching
moment and appreciated by all the relatives involved.

Thank you for your review, the care and nursing team have all worked incredibly hard, especially during the pandemic, and it's so nice to hear that it is appreciated. I saw the pictures of the afternoon tea on the lawn, and it looked fantastic, I'm glad you all enjoyed it.

My aunt was admitted into the care home after a short stay in hospital in January, she has dementia and all the staff were and still are amazing, so caring, they are keeping me informed on my aunts individual care on a regular basis, especially difficult during the pandemic. I would highly recommend
this care home and it is in a lovely location.

Back at the end of July, I was given the heartbreaking news that my dad was at the end stages of dementia! The hardest decision I have ever had to make was to put him into palliative care! The hospital told me he only had weeks and wanted to get him somewhere comfortable to see him through his last
few days/weeks!
Dad was moved to Cedar Court dementia unit. The first couple of weeks were very sad, he looked very poorly. But slowly and surely Dad has improved! I believe the staff have given him the time and support that he so needed, and it’s quite clear that he isn’t going anywhere anytime soon!
Well done Cedar Court, my dad seams happy and settled and is almost walking again! You have given him the time and patience and made him realise that his time here is not over!
We, as a family, are so great full for giving us more time with him, and give you 5 out of 5 for all that you do!
Keep up the good work!

In the time my husband has been in Cedar Court, 6 months I cannot fault the care and kindness that has been given to him and to me. With the pandemic affecting everyone in the home, everyone went that extra mile to protect themselves for the wellbeing of the residents and care workers. I cannot thank
everyone involved enough. A happy place to be in anytime.

I have found all of the staff at Cedar Court Dementia Care Home extremely caring for my wife in what is a very difficult time for her, adjusting to life in a home following the rapid onset of dementia during lockdown. My wife has settled as well as can be expected and this, I feel, is due to the care
and attention of the carers and nurses attending to her needs.
Unfortunately, I haven't been allowed to go into the home as yet, due to COVID restrictions, but I have been allowed regular visits to the outside pod which is a good compromise in the circumstances. However, thanks to the wonders of modern technology, I have had a video walk around and the facilities and cleanliness look to be very good. My wife struggles with technology now but the staff have helped her make video calls on a number of occasions or replied to text messages on her behalf.
The home are always happy to discuss any concerns I have and are quick to contact me if they have any concerns.

Current Review Score: 9.7 (9.749)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.7 (9.749) out of 10 for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.849 for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (90 Excellents x 5) + (16 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.849

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Cedar Court Dementia Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 45 registered maximum number of service users is 9, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
