The team at The Park are what makes this care home special, providing residential, nursing, dementia, palliative and respite care, which can be pre-booked in advance. They are dedicated to enriching the lives of their residents each and every day, and embrace family and friends into life in the home.

The gardens at the home, run by not-for-profit leading care provider Sanctuary Care, are absolutely stunning and are the perfect place to relax with loved ones, who are welcome to visit at any time.

They are landscaped with wheelchair-friendly pathways, sensory planting and a vegetable patch, for residents who enjoy a spot of gardening. They are a wonderful space to enjoy gatherings in the summer. Some of the ground floor bedrooms also have patio access direct to the gardens.

Mealtimes are a highlight of the day for so many residents, with an excellent chef who makes delicious, nutritious meals, and home-baked treats for afternoon tea each day. If residents don’t fancy what’s on the menu, there are lighter bites available so don’t hesitate to ask.

There are welcoming lounges to socialise in and enjoy activities, as well as a hair salon, for the residents to enjoy regular appointments with a mobile hairdresser, as well as a spot of pampering.

At The Park there are a range of activities on offer, from painting and reading in the library, to baking and gentle exercise.

The bedrooms are tastefully decorated, and the residents are encouraged to bring small items of furniture, pictures and ornaments so the devoted team can support them to make their rooms their own.

The home is situated in a residential area, close to shops and a library and there is a large car park, which makes visiting so easy.

The home is going through refurbishment which will make the facilities much better when complete. The staff and care workers are of a high standard and the management very helpful, cooperative and supportive.
My only concern is the level of mental activity available, it could be that many residents
have reached a point where it is difficult to get involved but I am able to get Mum more involved with encouragement. There are charitable organisations that would help if invited to do so.

We have found management very easy to talk to and very helpful. There are some very caring staff who go the extra mile for our mother. The food is excellent and drinks are always available. The rooms are clean and tidy with fresh sheets etc every day. The nurses keep us up to date without mother's care
and will phone me if necessary. Everyone is kind and polite to us. Our mother is very comfortable and happy. The carers are lovely to her.

Since my wife moved to the park 16 months ago she has been treated with care, dignity, respect and compassion.
I visit my wife for a few hours every day and I see management, nurses, carers and domestics going about their daily tasks in a most professional way.

Having worked alongside the staff in the home on several occasions - I was always made to feel part of the team within the home and was always offered additional support when needed with my client. Any concerns or issues could be raised with the management team, who listened and responded promptly,
offering solutions to enable my client's care to be maintained and enhanced.

The Park has lovely friendly staff, who are really caring and helped our family through a lot whilst our mother was in the home. Staff always made our family feel welcome, and important even though there are many other residents. We hope to attend open events soon, to see the staff and home.

Very disappointed with the lack of communication and ignorance of management. Unfortunately, you can count only on one hand the number of carers who actually care about the residents in the home. Only after a complaint and safeguarding raised was my dad starting to receive the care he should of received
from day one, this was then too late. I have also called 6 times since the passing of my dad for his missing clothes and still no phone call back.

It's a difficult thing to manage something with so many competing demands and so in the spotlight for all the wrong reasons. There's always things that could be done better. I feel in all respects from the care of my mother to my access to management of the home, they do a terrific job. My mother couldn't
be in better, safer or more caring hands.
