A home rich in cultural diversity, Sherwood Forest provides residential, dementia, nursing care and palliative care.

The team, many of whom have been with the home for over 10 years, also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is being well cared for.

There are so many faiths and cultures in the home, with a team who speak several Asian languages, as well as English.

The residents enjoy home-cooked meals, with a variety of Asian and English dishes, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to homemade curries and daal dishes. And there are freshly baked cakes and treats every day for afternoon tea. The chef likes to spend time with the residents to get their feedback, which helps to shape the menu. And there is a special menu for special occasions, from Diwali to traditional afternoon tea.

There are lots of activities to enjoy, from baking and pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages, to crafts, music and visits from well-behaved dogs. And the enclosed garden is a lovely space to enjoy the warmer weather.

The local community is embraced into life in the home, from visiting school children to musical entertainers.

There is a conservatory and welcoming lounges to relax in and spend time enjoying activities or relaxing with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. And the home has a private family and friends Facebook page, where members can see what the residents have been enjoying doing.

The home also has a hair salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

The staff provide and give support to Mum that keep her comfortable on a nice environment. I cannot fault the care provided by all of the staff at Sherwood Forest and would highly recommend this facility to anyone requiring assistance, either short or long term.

While my partner was here the staff always looked after him really well. The food was good. When he passed away, the staff were really helpful and supportive. I still come to the home for coffee morning and always made welcome.

My husband's stay in Sherwood was a very good experience for him. The carers were absolutely kind and helpful and nothing was too much trouble. The food was very good and plenty of it. He passed in December and the staff were so kind. Would recommend it to anybody wanting to place their relative here.

Mum seems happy most of the time although she does have her favourite carers 95% of the carers are amazing with all residents. We have had a few issues regarding laundry and personal care. The manager is very good and approachable and is always happy to help with any problems. Overall Sherwood is a
lovely home and well-run. While Mum's happy I'm happy.

My mother seems happy enough with living there. We have had a few issues over clothes and personal belongings going from Mum's room. She's also had quite a few bruises and skin tears over the last year some of which I feel could have been avoided with a bit better care.

very good place overall. Mum has improved massively since being here, mentally and physically and in general appearance. She is clearly very well looked after by the staff who always have time for everyone and always try their best to cater to any requests.

Friendly, attentive staff. It's clear to see my mother-in-law is really well looked after. Hair nails etc. She's bright, cheerful, alert and appears happy. Need tings to do, colouring, activity sheets perhaps.

Would highly recommend this home to anyone. The staff go above and beyond to care for the residents and for us relatives too. The entertainment that I have been to is just great - lovely, friendly atmosphere. The food and dining experience looks very much improved too. My dad seems very satisfied; he

Mum went in April 2023 for respite care and had extensive nursing needs due to multiple health issues. Her medical conditions improved greatly with care from all the nursing team, especially one staff member in particular. The care team were excellent and all, apart from two persons, would always smile
and engage positively when you visited. Cleaners, especially one cleaner in particular, look out and engage with the residents. We had one complaint regarding Mum's care and it was dealt with professionally by the deputy manager and we felt we were listened to and the staff member was advised accordingly. The previous manager was excellent from the start, when we started the process of moving Mum in she was always accessible and had time to discuss any concerns. This manager moved on, but we felt that the deputy manager and the new manager have picked up the reigns. Another staff member was always accessible with queries re finance, admin etc. Only improvement, the door bell confusion for visitors and waits at times! Mum came home in September so well done to the team. Success.

My husband has been in the nursing home for over two years, and I have nothing but praise for the staff. Nothing is ever too much trouble for them. They treat the residents with such kindness, care and respect, which also extends to their families. There are also activities every day for residents who
are able to take part. It is a homely, happy atmosphere when you walk in. I would not wish for my husband to be anywhere else.

The staff here are brilliant. They are taking good care of my grandmother. It's so sad to see your grandparents here, but at the same time, they are very well supported and looked after, giving you the reassurance they are in the best place for them and the safest place for them.
