A home rich in cultural diversity, Sherwood Forest provides residential, dementia, nursing care and palliative care.

The team, many of whom have been with the home for over 10 years, also offer respite care breaks, which can be booked in advance. These are ideal for family carers who would like to plan a short break themselves, with the peace of mind of knowing their loved one is being well cared for.

There are so many faiths and cultures in the home, with a team who speak several Asian languages, as well as English.

The residents enjoy home-cooked meals, with a variety of Asian and English dishes, from roast dinners with all the trimmings to homemade curries and daal dishes. And there are freshly baked cakes and treats every day for afternoon tea. The chef likes to spend time with the residents to get their feedback, which helps to shape the menu. And there is a special menu for special occasions, from Diwali to traditional afternoon tea.

There are lots of activities to enjoy, from baking and pamper sessions, with manicures and hand massages, to crafts, music and visits from well-behaved dogs. And the enclosed garden is a lovely space to enjoy the warmer weather.

The local community is embraced into life in the home, from visiting school children to musical entertainers.

There is a conservatory and welcoming lounges to relax in and spend time enjoying activities or relaxing with loved ones, who are welcome at any time. And the home has a private family and friends Facebook page, where members can see what the residents have been enjoying doing.

The home also has a hair salon, for weekly appointments with a mobile hairdresser.

The nursing staff in this home are excellent. The care staff are numerous and well trained. All staff are polite, communicate well and show a kind and caring attitude. The home is well furnished and always warm and inviting.
Everywhere is cleaned to a high standard. Bedrooms are simple but functional
and laundering is provided to all residents.
Overall the residents are treated with respect and dignity.
The management and all staff are committed to providing a good standard of care.

All staff at all levels provide quality care for residents. All are very pleasant and treat the residents with dignity.
The standard of meals is very high with plenty of food options.
All areas appear clean and tidy.
Overall, good quality of accommodation and care.

I am very satisfied with all the care and respect given by all the staff. My husband has shown some improvement since being here. He was admitted with "end of life" from hospital 9 months ago. I am also welcomed by the staff at any time of the day to visit.

My Father has been at the Sherwood Nursing home for most of this year since his diagnosis of Dementia. Not having any previous experience with care homes we were very lucky to find a placement within this care provider. Since he arrived he has been treated with the utmost dignity and respect despite
presenting some challenging behaviour. The team at Sherwood have gone out of their way not only to support my Father but also they have made themselves available to support the entire family at this challenging time. One of the hardest decisions we have ever had to make was to find a placement for our father however, we have peace of mind in knowing that he is safe, cared for and treated with dignity and respect. The entire team are passionate about the role they each play in caring for a wide range of residents each with their own care needs. The Management team are very approachable and its clear to see they ensure their team are not only well trained but understand how important what they do is.
