Littleover Nursing Home offers twenty-four hour nursing for residents in a homely environment with scenic surroundings, staffed by registered nurses with many years of experience in achieving a satisfying service.

Although converted into a nursing home, Littleover retains much of its Victorian character.

All bedrooms have a hospital bed and a nurse-call system, most are en-suite and have a wet room. Service users have a choice of communal areas in which to socialise and enjoy a range of entertainments. There is also a separate dining room and hairdressing salon.

Food and activities are as important as the care at Littleover and a varied menu and leisure and wellness programme can be found in each home.

Far Fillimore Care Homes ltd is a small but growing provider with care homes providing residential, nursing and dementia care on a long or short-term basis.

My stepfather was admitted to the Littleover Nursing Home in July to receive palliative care at the end of his life. My mother and I were warmly welcomed from day one and looked after with exactly the same compassionate loving care and professionalism as my stepfather was given. Every single person
we encountered in the home from the caretaker with his beautiful aviary of birds outside to management - extremely qualified and very kind nurses and care workers made us feel calm and at peace on his passing. We cannot thank you enough and feel so lucky to have been placed in such an excellent nursing home.

As my husband was so near the end of his life, it became very hard for me to visit him. I found it emotionally extremely difficult, as a result, I was in tears when leaving him. The staff went out of their way to comfort me and talk to me so that by the time I left, I had regained my composure. The
staff are so caring, and the home is lovely and clean with a calm and peaceful atmosphere.

Mum moved into Littleover Nursing Home in March 2019 and settled in quickly. I was impressed by the variety of activities provided for the residents. Mum particularly enjoyed the singing and cooking sessions. Dad visited every day and they looked after him too. He stayed one night when Mum was ill and
was most impressed by his breakfast the next morning! When Dad passed away suddenly in November of that year the compassion and care and kindness and support they gave to Mum, and to us, was really appreciated. Mum was happy and well-cared for - all we could ask for in a home. In the last week of Mum's life, we just wanted to be with her. The staff were brilliant - they took care of us as well as Mum. Nothing was too much trouble. They kept us fully informed, making sure we were all right and explaining to us what to expect and we were so grateful that we were with Mum when she died.

Unfortunately, my father was only in the home for 9 days before he passed away. During that period my experience with the care home was that of satisfaction. I can only comment on my observation in that short period. We were kept informed of his condition, made to heel welcome on visits and, on his
passing, the help and cooperation from the management and staff was excellent and very dignified.

Thank you for taking the time to give us some feedback - I will ensure your comments are passed on to the whole team at Littleover and please accept our sincere condolences for your loss.

My uncle came to Littleover Nursing Home for end of life care. Unfortunately his stay was short but whilst at the home he felt comfortable in his own room with his belongings around him. All our dealings with the staff from admin, carers, nurses and manager all were very supportive at all times from
beginning to end. Both my uncle and family were very happy with the choice we made.

My wife was a resident at Littleover Nursing Home from August 2020 until she passed away at the beginning of October 2020. During her short stay, she was treated with both dignity and respect. I visited every day and always received a warm welcome from the staff and often offered a hot drink during
my visit. My wife was always kept immaculate, pain-free and as comfortable as was humanly possible throughout her stay. Staff showed great compassion, kindness and patience at all times. And, as her condition deteriorated, I was kept informed at every stage by the dedicated nursing staff. Not only did the staff care for my wife; they also took the time, particularly toward the end, to check that I was managing all right too. I would recommend the Littleover Nursing Home to anyone. The fact that all the staff get to know residents well means that they can provide excellent care, and along with approachable management staff who were able to answer any questions that I had. Many thanks to you all.

My mother came here after suffering a stroke which has taken away her independence. From myself and my sister's first visit here, we were impressed by staff and cleanliness and general appearance of the home as a whole. Mother seems settled here and nothing is too much trouble for the staff. This has
eased a lot of pressure for myself and my sister.

Both of my grandparents moved into Littleover Nursing Home and had adjacent rooms. Littleover was a kind, caring, clean place for them both to spend the last months of their life, and we appreciate the kindness, compassion and hard work put into the care of them both during the time they were in the
home. Special thanks to the night nurses and team for the support and care given to us all during the final few days of Gran's life, and special thanks to the activities team who tried so hard to include my grandma and grandad in making their lives more rewarding. Nothing was too much the staff, and we will always remember the staff with fondness. It was such a warm welcome whenever we visited, and we had confidence that they were looked after very well.

We can’t thank the staff at Littleover Nursing Home enough for the care that they have given to my mother-in-law, right to the very end. All of the staff get to know the residents very well, keep them well cared for, and it feels like a home from home. Thank you so much.

Mr relative has spent 4 happy years at Littleover Nursing Home. He has been treated with dignity and respect at all times even when he wasn't responding well. He had a lovely airy room which was cleaned every day. He was fed well and had plenty of stimulation in their daily activities.

We were very happy with this nursing home when they cared for Dad so well before he passed away 2 years ago. When Mum needed the same, 24 hour care, there was only 1 choice, The Littleover Nursing Home. It really is a home from home. In the intervening 2 years, the manager and the entire team have made
improvements we didn't even realise needed making. You can feel the positive atmosphere and the great culture in the team. It is a calm but happy place. If Mum is ever unsettled the team are so reassuring and take the pressure off. Massive thank you!

Current Review Score: 9.2 (9.184)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.2 (9.184) out of 10 for Littleover Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.3 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.284 for Littleover Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (59 Excellents x 5) + (42 Goods x 4) + (9 Satisfactorys x 3) + (1 Poors x 2) + (5 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 116 Ratings = 4.284

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Littleover Nursing Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 40 registered maximum number of service users is 8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
