Due to an in-ability to look after themselves (Dementia), my Aunt and now late Uncle were admitted in December 2013
First impressions were not of a swish, modern home, but a caring peaceful environment where they have both been well looked after.
The staff have always been very patient and kind,
and management fair and communicative .
They have moved rooms now three times, for improvement at the homes recommendation, and my Uncle was latterly very difficult/challenging to care for!
The home has undergone significant upgrading of windows decoration etc (that we can see) in this time.
I would have no hesitation in thoroughly recommending it to those looking for care for their loved ones .

My mother has been a resident at then nursing home since February 2015, suffering from dementia. I had no hesitation in placing her at The Grange. As I live abroad I can only visit several times a year, but I found that she has been extremely well cared for in a homely environment and now I get regular
updates as to her wellbeing.
When visiting I have always been greeted by friendly smiling staff. The atmosphere is very calm and I know that my mother is getting the very best of care and all her needs catered for. I would like to thank all the staff at The Grange.

First impression- A fine looking house with picturesque surroundings mature trees etc. Always greeted by staff with a smile and an unhurried attitude. A friendly, calm atmosphere. The only suitable room for my mother faced a brief wall and was rather gloomy, though immaculately clean. This was acknowledged
by the manager and promised a move as soon as a better room became available. I was allowed to put our own curtain and bedding in. On admission it was recognized mother had had no lunch and she was fed with appropriate pureed food. At all times mother's need have come first. The nursing care has been of a very high standard. My own requests have been listened to with sympathy regarding end of life care and passed on to the visiting doctor. I therefore feel she is in very safe hands and have no worries about her continuing care.

My father was admitted to The Grange in September 2015, he had been diagnosed with dementia, he seems very happy there and he was well cared for. For the first few weeks he seemed OK he ate well and was always on the move, in Dec he had a couple of falls which resulted in him being bed ridden, he deteriorated
from then and passed away Feb 8th 2016 he was kept comfortable and looked after very well up to his passing. The staff were excellent, always on hand to help him, feed him and keep him clean i could not praise them more highly. Thank you all staff at The Grange.

My husband has been a resident since June 2015, coming to The Grange after 5 weeks in the LRI subsequent to a fall. He has Lewy Body Dementia and Parkinsons. He is unable to walk or feed himself, and I have been so impressed with the kindness and care given to my husband by all the staff, who at times
have to cope with some challenging behaviour due to the nature of his illness. My husband has been a lifelong vegetarian, and the staff go out of their way to see he has appropriate meals provided.

My experience of The Grange Nursing and Residential home is very good. My Dad is very happy and is always found to be lovely and clean. I cant fault the cleanliness of the place at all and the staff and management are very caring and polite on the visits to see Dad. He really enjoy the exercise class
twice a week and the sing along's. Dad is happy, so we're happy.

I am very happy with the care my mother receives, which is second to none. The staff are always on hand to help and although I have a 50 mile round trip to see my mum I wouldn't have her staying any where else. I feel relaxed when I have to go.

My wife who has vascular dementia has been in the Grange for nearly two years and during this time has been very well looked after.
Both the Management and Staff have a very caring and positive attitude and she could not be in a better place.
Everyone is so kind and caring and I am reassured that
she is in such a safe environment.
Nothing is too much trouble and all her needs are catered for.

Mum didn't spend long at The Grange only four months. The staff/nurses were wonderful. I now wish we had gone to The Grange rather than the other hoe mum was in for three years.

This was my first experience of a Care Home when my mother was admitted for Respite Care. I was pleasantly surprised and need not have worried. Mum settled fairly quickly and enjoyed her food for the first time in weeks. The staff respected her desire for privacy and were patient when she was stubborn.

The owners and all the staff are excellent,polite and respectful towards my Mother and being a regular visitor they also show the same kindness to the other residents at all times. I would highly recommend

My mother has been in this care home for 3 years and 3 months. In that time I have visited her 3 to 4 times per week at various times of the day. I have always been impressed with her care and also note the care given to other residents. At this moment my mother does not require nursing care but has
dementia. She is settled and now regards this facility as her home. I am vigilant to her requirements but in the main these are always taken care of by the members of staff. I would have no problem in recommending this home to her prospective residents and their relatives.

My wife has been a resident in the home since January 2015 with a severe left sided stroke and vascular dementia acute right MCA infarct Myeloproliferative disease, congestive cardiac failure hypertension and CKD stage 3. For the first few weeks she found it very hard to settle in at the residential
home but now as her conditions have improved slightly she has now found it more tolerable in the last few weeks and is now coming to terms with the situation.

I am very passionate about my job and my first priority is to make all residents feel at home.


We have a range of daily activities which include exercise, singing, bingo, and arts & crafts. We also have special events celebrating religious and social occasions regularly throughout the year as well as arranging day trips for residents to places of interest.
