Staff at Harley House have been fantastic in every way. They made efforts to find out about my partner so they could have meaningful interactions. They were so kind and caring and kept him clean and fresh. They were always happy to answer questions and give honest updates. Staff members were with him
at the end of his life. He was only in the home about a month but he could not have been in a better place or receiving better care. Many thanks to the lovely staff!

Harley House from the outset is in a quiet and attractive neighbourhood. The initial sight of the property was clean and well maintained with excellent security, both intercoms, locks and cameras and staff.
It was the only care home visited out of many in the area which were very transparent and open.
There was a clear display of all the staff with photos and roles together with details of those on duty. All management has been most welcoming and informative. Nurses have an excellent link with the local surgery and totally reassuring with no doubt whatsoever in control of medication. Genuine care shone through at all times.

Harley House received my aunt with advanced dementia made worse by an operation and hospital stay. She was discharged to Harley House as discharge to assess patient.
The care she received was exceptional. In her confused state, she was very agitated and needed one to one care. This care was delivered
with kindness, dignity, love and understanding by everyone.
The management team were excellent and provided highly experienced guidance and advice.
I cannot praise Harley House staff highly enough.

My mother moved into Harley House last year. She has complex health care needs and now needs 24 hour care.
It was not a decision myself and my sister made with ease, but we have been completely blown away by how she has thrived in their care.
She is so happy there - she has a great relationship with
all the staff and enjoys their company and the laughs they have throughout the day. She is spoilt for choice with her meals - nothing is too much trouble for them including their never ending supply of tea!
My sister and I are able to take her out for visits and to see her grandchildren and now great-grandchildren which is totally supported by the manager. She assists all she can (covid restrictions permitting) in ensuring my mum keeps in touch with her family.
She recently had a birthday but we could not be together - yet the manager and her staff made the day completely memorable - she had a cake, singing and lots of attention!
Thank you and God bless.

My father has been very well looked after at Harley House. The home has a motto in a frame: love lives here, and I really feel that is the case. They moved a piano up from the basement to help my father settle in, and he loves all the group activities and the very good food. I highly recommend Harley
House.

Harley House has looked after my mother very well. It was a difficult life change for moving to Harley House, one that was not looked forward to by any of her family, or my mum, obviously. Harley House has done well to have her settled and comfortable after a relatively short time and her family have
felt confident about her care and wellbeing as a result.

The staff seem to genuinely care for the residents, not only in terms of personal care but also, your emotional and social needs. There is always a warm, friendly and most importantly homely atmosphere, enhanced by hospitable offers of tea and cake.

My mother moved here three weeks ago. So far, so good. She seems much better than in her previous home. It is clear the staff really care about the whole person. Mum said, "I feel privileged to be here."

Mum has been here since March and the staff have always treated us with courtesy and kindness.
She is not always the easiest person to care for but they have always endeavoured to help her as best as possible. I am happier with the new management since the previous one left some weeks ago.

Current Review Score: 8.2 (8.179)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.2 (8.179) out of 10 for Harley House Nursing and Residential Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 5.0 out of 5 from 1 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.2 out of 5 from 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

The Average Rating of 5.000 for Harley House Nursing and Residential Home is calculated as follows: ( (10 Excellents x 5) ) ÷ 10 Ratings = 5

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.179 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Harley House Nursing and Residential Home is based on 1 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 = 3

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 28 registered maximum number of service users is 5.6. 1 Positive Reviews ÷ 5.6 = 0.179

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
