Harley Grange is very friendly and caring. My husband had 6 months in here after leaving hospital in 2016. He has been back since for respite. It was like seeing old friends.

I attended Harley Grange in late 2016/early 2017 for 6 months. I have returned this time for 5 days only. In my stay, as in the previous visit, I found the staff to be happy wherever I go and it was like I'd never been away. God bless you all.

From the time my uncle arrived, in a very nervous state, he was made to feel welcome and the affinities with members of staff in terms of knowing their parents further paved the way for a relaxed transition from hospital.
Throughout his stay, my uncle often said how kind and understanding the staff
were and that he felt safe and comfortable. As family and friends, we echo this and also found the surroundings and facilities excellent. Staff were always ready to discuss my uncle’s care and where possible implemented outcomes from these discussions.
We cannot emphasise how much we appreciate the support that allowed our uncle to pass away peacefully and would recommend Harley Grange to others.

I think all there involved with my aunt did their very best looking after her from January 2005 until February of this year.
Thank you to everyone at Harley Grange Care Home including the nursing staff who did a wonderful job.

My mother-in-law lived at Harley Grange for the last 13 years. During that time her condition gradually deteriorated and she was totally dependent on the carers for all care at the end. I was always impressed with the compassionate care given by the matron. I felt the staff did their best to make my
mother-in-law comfortable.

A celebration tea for Valentines' Day had been organised and friends of the residents were kindly invited to join in. The room was beautifully decorated with banners and bunting and the tables had red cloths and roses and looked very pretty. The tea was delicious and there was a lovely atmosphere with
music etc. We enjoyed it very much.

The staff put themselves out to accommodate our friend by putting a table at their disposal for a game of Bridge. After our game, a beautifully arranged afternoon tea was given. Many thanks to all concerned on this Valentine's Day.

My father liked the care home and staff very much and said he did not want to go back to his home as he was being looked after in such a good way.

My mother was transferred from a North London Hospital to Harley Grange to be nearer family. We are very happy with our choice of care home. Lovely caring staff and team, room and facilities. Overall care is excellent. Early days but mum is pleased with our choice and thinks the staff are lovely. She
likes her room very much to which we have brought lots of her personal possessions to remind her of her home.

Hospital discharge team found a place as my mother needed a nursing home, NHS funded for 4-5 weeks, brilliant support and care. After an NHS update meeting, my mother no longer needed nursing care and unfortunately, unable to find top-up fee required so had to move her. Staff were brilliant, food amazing.
Brilliant Christmas day support for my father very much appreciated.

It was a huge relief to have found Harley Grange. Mum very much appreciated its attractive surroundings and homely atmosphere and relished time spent in its lovely, sheltered garden. She was extremely well looked after throughout the 2 and a half years she was there, and during the final weeks of her
life, the dedication shown by nurses and carers was exceptional.

Visiting mum, I was always made to feel welcome and found staff members and management to be friendly, approachable and responsive, combining professionalism with genuine kindness.

I was transferred from an A&E admittance with severe back pain and some heart problems. A halfway house to returning home. The sympathy and care have enabled me to overcome the acute pain. The sympathy and encouragement of the staff have made it possible to return home after just over a week's care.

Harley Grange provided my friend very good care in the last few months of her life. Not ideal, but no nursing home can be for an independent lady. Staff were really caring and did as much as possible for a fairly cantankerous lady.
Management and admin were particularly good.

Current Review Score: 9.6 (9.574)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.6 (9.574) out of 10 for Harley Grange Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.8 out of 5 from 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.774 for Harley Grange Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (75 Excellents x 5) + (15 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 93 Ratings = 4.774

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.8 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Harley Grange Care Home is based on 8 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.8

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 34 registered maximum number of service users is 6.8, which has been reached with 8 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
