We visit our son three times per week and are always welcomed by friendly staff. If we have any questions staff are always on hand to give an answer. Our son is very happy to be here and loves all of his meals. The home is very clean and tidy. The staff are very friendly and always speak to him if they
are passing his room. We as his parents are very happy he is here.

My Father has been at London Road since June 2022, always found the staff approachable and friendly. My father has always enjoyed the food, good choices! His own words, I feel he is safe and well looked after and has good person-centred care, keep up the good work everyone, many thanks.

The staff are very friendly and approachable. They are professional in their caregiving and knowledgeable. They take care of my sister as though she was at home. They work really hard and do their best to communicate any change in my sister's health. Her room is always tidy and clean. They make regular
checks no later than 30 minutes at a time and attend to her every need.
They work very well in teams.
Being in this care environment means that I don't have to worry about my sister. The care is so excellent. She's always clean and creamed and her hair moisturised. I cannot thank the staff enough.
I don't live locally, but they are happy to give me updates. The lovely manager is about to send me a copy of my sister's care to add to her medical folder I have as I am also POA.
I feel that they're as family and treat my sister as being precious to them as she is to me.
Fantastic staff.

The personnel are outstanding, they are kind, extremely diligent, and do a terrific job. Every time I enter those doors, I can see my husband is well-maintained. The patients in the care facility receive excellent attention from the nurses and carers. Having such carers and personnel is a delight.

Our mother had the best possible care, love and attention. Went in for roughly a week and was there until the end, three years later. Excellent Care Home.

We cannot recommend this nursing home highly enough. The quality of care and attention given to our mum over the last eight months has been astonishing.
The highly trained nursing staff understand Mum's condition completely, giving her the special care that is required. This, in turn, allows the
family to function normally knowing that Mum is in the best hands possible.
Each and every member of staff at the London Road Neurological & Specialist Care Unit are worth their weight in gold. So thank you.

My mother spent three years at the home and, during that period, received the most caring and loving attention possible. There was genuine involvement from the nurses, carers, caterers and all members of staff who came to know her and our family are grateful and privileged to have known them.

Current Review Score: 9.0 (8.973)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.0 (8.973) out of 10 for London Road Specialist Nursing Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.5 out of 5 from 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.464 for London Road Specialist Nursing Home is calculated as follows: ( (35 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 69 Ratings = 4.464

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.509 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for London Road Specialist Nursing Home is based on 6 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 = 3.6

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 33 registered maximum number of service users is 6.6. 6 Positive Reviews ÷ 6.6 = 0.909

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
