Tixover House provides high quality residential and nursing care for older people, including those with dementia. They are located in Rutland, and the home is easily accessible from Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Corby. The home is surrounded by 14 acres of beautiful countryside and is an integral part of the rural community, with strong links to surrounding villages.

The warm and inviting residential communities provide the comforts of home with 24-hour support. Predominantly residential, the home provides nursing care, and facilities meaning should your needs change, you can remain in familiar surroundings, with the same standards of care, and staff.

All care is provided by friendly, experienced and well-trained staff, who focus on the individual and support residents in maintaining their own interests and hobbies.

The life enrichment activities coordinators are committed to ensuring that all residents continue to live a full and active lifestyle, facilitating varied and stimulating ways to enjoy their days. From gardening and music, to outings or just a cup of tea and a friendly chat – there’s something for everyone!

The home has a strong sense of community and the team are confident you’ll find the home ideally situated to meet your needs. Whether you require long-term or short-stay care, respite breaks can be pre-booked up to 12 months in advance.

The care home provided exceptional support for my mother with Lewy body dementia. The staff were compassionate, understanding and provided personalised care, ensuring her comfort and well-being. They supported her appropriately for three and half years, during this time, her health deteriorated and
they adjusted her care accordingly. Highly recommended.

I am perfectly happy with the care my mother is receiving. Having fallen out of bed, the home has now installed a motion sensor as well as the pressure sensor which seems to have sorted the problem.

This is only the second time I have visited the home to visit my friend. We were made very welcome by the staff. The atmosphere of the home is peaceful and friendly. Home from home. Refreshments which were excellent provided as well.

I have lived in one of the assisted living bungalows at Tixover Grange for 10 and a half years. During this time I have had a very good relationship with the care home, where I have been made welcome at events, also helping when I could with the residents: baking, card making and chatting with them.
You always get a friendly reception and a cuppa with biscuits or cake!

A faultless experience from start to finish, my mother had a week of respite here. Her first time. The appraisal at home was fantastic and I left Mum with absolutely no qualms. I had been wary of embarking on this journey but I was reassured at every stage and Mum left the care home saying she had had
a lovely stay and she thought it had done her good. Thank you to everyone involved. You are brilliant.

My dad has been a resident since Dec 2022, his needs have changed since he moved into Tixover. The management and team have supported us all and explained perfectly the additional care our dad needs. More recently they have been extra supportive and patient which has been a comfort. He's doing well
and we know he is cared for and looked after day and night. He continues to be involved in activities and feels part of the Tixover family.

Our dear friend came to Tixover House straight from the hospital for his final months. Being completely aware, our friend was able to acknowledge and appreciate the kindness and care shown to him. We have been invited to several of the events at Tixover. My husband spent a week at Tixover and we were very happy with his care. All the staff are friendly and very helpful and caring. Very pleased all around.

I live in America and needed somewhere I could trust to look after my mother as I can only visit once every 3 months. Every time I visit she tells me how happy she is to be living there and how I and the staff are.
The staff often make her laugh and cheer her up. When I am there she checked on at
least once an hour and often more. The staff are very good about keeping me up to date on her medical health by email and the results of all GP visits which is reassuring.

Hello. My name is Tony, and I am the Head Chef here at Tixover House. I have a huge passion for food and believe that meal times are a vital part of our residents’ day. It’s something they look forward to and I'm happy to tailor dishes and menus to meet their wishes.


One of the regular favourites is the homemade Devonshire scones served during afternoon Cream Tea, with fresh cream and strawberry jam, alongside finger sandwiches.


I love spending time with our residents and guests of the home, chatting through their likes and dislikes, and nutritional and hydration needs so I can adapt menus to suit everyone.
