Tixover House provides high quality residential and nursing care for older people, including those with dementia. They are located in Rutland, and the home is easily accessible from Oakham, Stamford, Oundle and Corby. The home is surrounded by 14 acres of beautiful countryside and is an integral part of the rural community, with strong links to surrounding villages.

The warm and inviting residential communities provide the comforts of home with 24-hour support. Predominantly residential, the home provides nursing care, and facilities meaning should your needs change, you can remain in familiar surroundings, with the same standards of care, and staff.

All care is provided by friendly, experienced and well-trained staff, who focus on the individual and support residents in maintaining their own interests and hobbies.

The life enrichment activities coordinators are committed to ensuring that all residents continue to live a full and active lifestyle, facilitating varied and stimulating ways to enjoy their days. Mum is very well looked after. The team in the memory lane are marvellous, very patient and caring. The food is excellent, as is the activities provided to the residents.

Invited to King Charles III celebration held at Tixover House Care Home. Wonderful event of afternoon tea with residents and staff and planting of a tree in their glorious surroundings. Listened to a fabulous singer while partaking in a substantial quality spread of sandwiches, savouries and a wide
variety of cakes with copious amounts of tea. Thoroughly enjoyed the afternoon as I am sure the residents did. The staff were superb with making us most welcome while looking after all. They obviously care very much for their residents. Just like to thank all the staff there for a wonderful afternoon and for making us most welcome.

All the staff are very helpful and caring. Food and entertainment are varied, though cannot be used by my partner because of the medical condition she suffers from. The management is also good and helpful when any queries arise.

This is a very good care home. My wife couldn't be in a better place. The food is first class and all the staff are so caring and helpful. Knowing they check on her 24/7 and see to all her needs puts my mind at rest.

My mum moved to Tixover House a week or so ago.. my family and I are so very happy. The staff are all amazing they genuinely care for the residents. Staff even come in to see the residents on their days off. The care home is set in wonderful country side and everyone is made to feel welcome. It feels
like one big happy family. It is spotlessly clean thanks to the house care assistants. The food is exceptional. There are daily activities and you can sit and have a chat with the residents in the main lounge.

Tixover House has provided Mum with a caring and safe environment. Mum feels comfortable and feels very "cared" for by the friendly staff. We feel Mum's needs are met very well and with dignity and genuine interest. She is very happy in Tixover House and happily joined in with activities run by the

The views of a retired district nurse - Tixover House Care Home is of the highest standard. The residents are cared for with respect and dignity, regardless of their physical and mental state. The care staff are amazing, hardworking with good humour. The home is immaculate and clean. I would not hesitate

A beautiful place with a lovely surrounding area. Staff couldn't have been more helpful. I can understand what staff work there. The residents appreciate you beyond words, and all the little things mean a lot. I put on a song on my mobile, and instantly, the staff (and I) started singing. It brought

My mother has been a resident at Tixover Grange for almost a year now. She was transferred from Residential to the Memory Lane Wing after only 1 week because her dementia was advanced. The staff, from management to ancillary staff are wonderful. They do their utmost to engage with mum and meet her needs
whilst treating her with dignity. Some go the extra mile, taking lunch to her room or putting her soup in a china mug. They understand that these small personal actions make a significant difference to someone with dementia. Staffing could be improved by employing more permanent, and therefore familiar, staff, especially at weekends as mum is mobile and prone to falls. The home is always clean and the wide range of activities provided could only be improved by the addition of more singing/dancing/outside walks.

My father has been in Tixover for over 3 months now and the staff have been extremely friendly and caring towards both Dad and myself and my mum.
They follow all Covid protocols to keep both patients and visitors safe and although it’s a sad situation for us to be in I would absolutely recommend them
to anyone looking for nursing care

I find the staff friendly, caring and helpful. They have worked very hard to keep residents and visitors safe through the pandemic. I do find though that visiting at the weekend the staff are very busy and there can be a wait for someone to answer the door and clean he visiting suite. The doorbell has
been removed for some reason and the intercom in the suite isn't very clear. Elderly relatives visiting cannot hear properly. I would like to see more photographs of the activities my relative takes part in whether through and email or facebook page.

Excellent in every area.

Hello. My name is Tony, and I am the Head Chef here at Tixover House. I have a huge passion for food and believe that meal times are a vital part of our residents’ day. It’s something they look forward to and I'm happy to tailor dishes and menus to meet their wishes.


One of the regular favourites is the homemade Devonshire scones served during afternoon Cream Tea, with fresh cream and strawberry jam, alongside finger sandwiches.


I love spending time with our residents and guests of the home, chatting through their likes and dislikes, and nutritional and hydration needs so I can adapt menus to suit everyone.
