Eccleshare Court is a purpose-built care home offering nursing, residential and specialist dementia care. The home is located in the quiet residential area of Hartsholme in Lincoln, close to Hartsholme Country Park.

The home features a dementia friendly village with its very own pub, café, shop, hairdressers and nail bar. The facilities provide the opportunity to offer person centred activities in themed areas of the care home. Residents can enjoy dominoes and games in the pub, pampering in the nail bar and socialising and reminiscing over tea and cakes in the café.

The recently refurbished home offers spacious accommodation and each self-contained flat has a kitchenette, sitting area and WC. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with their own furniture. The newly refurbished lounges have a warm, homely feel and themed areas in corridors have been thoughtfully designed to reflect residents' interests and to stimulate reminiscing.

Our mum spent her last fourteen weeks in Eccleshare Court Care & Nursing Home. She was transferred as palliative/end of life. We cannot thank staff enough. She was looked after so well. She passed away with dignity and respect. Staff very friendly, kind to both us and Mum. Can't praise all staff highly
enough. They couldn't do enough for us as a family on Mum's passing, offering us drinks etc. and even a guest room.

I expected the home to be friendly, unfortunately, I was very disappointed. My father and myself get ignored. The facilities for visitors (coffee and tea are near impossible) The machine is always out of order, and the kitchen is now locked up. The kitchen staff are super but no longer available as
it's closed. I have made complaints many times, this doesn't help either. My father is very lonely and feels the same. I could be there for 3 - 4 hours and see no - one at all. My father may be demented but he says a lot to me.

My mum was placed on end-of-life care and I couldn't have wished for a better place for Mum to be. We were looked after as a family. Very caring staff, respectful and helpful. Mum was very poorly but she was nursed extremely professionally.

Absolutely outstanding care and support were given to all of us. Hubby was admitted for his last week fighting terminal cancer Everyone we came into contact with was caring, compassionate and welcoming. We were able to visit whenever we wanted and nothing was too much trouble whenever we arrived. His
last hours were filled with so much care and compassion, very comforting for us all. So sorry I did not get to do this earlier forever grateful!

My mother was suffering from Dementia and Alzheimers and spent her final 6 months at Eccleshare Court. A difficult and upsetting time for us all. The care she received was excellent, she was treated with compassion, understanding and dignity at all times. The staff are clearly very experienced, pragmatic
and knowledgeable in dealing with dementia patients and we cannot thank them enough for their professionalism and standard of care. Thank you.

My brother who was terminally ill with cancer spent his final week in this nursing home. He was professionally and compassionately cared for, made comfortable and treated with dignity. My Father moved into Eccleshare Court in February a few weeks after losing his wife after 67 years of marriage. I live abroad and due to Covid, was not able to be with him when he moved but luckily his fantastic carer and friend organised everything. The Manager was so incredibly sensitive to our situation
that she put me at ease at once, was always available to my many questions, and helped the transition into the care home go seamlessly. I was then lucky enough to have a call with the person who organises all the activities and we organised regular video calls which meant the world to me. We finally were able to visit at the beginning of October and all the staff made us so incredibly welcome, we arrived late on the first afternoon but that didn't matter and they let us see Dad as soon as we arrived. The following days were amazing and we even had lunch in the "Pub" with Dad and then the following day took him out. Thank you to all at Eccleshare for everything.

I feel that mum has received the best care from the home under some extreme conditions, lack of staff, and Covid restrictions. Mum had a spell in hospital and then went back to the care home, we were kept informed of Mum's care plan due to her hospital stay and nothing was too much of a trouble for
the nurses if we needed to speak to them.

Having to find a care home for our father in the middle of a pandemic lockdown last year, and with the additional complications of his dementia and diabetes, was not an easy task. We did have one advantage, another family member has been at Eccleshare for several years, so we had a personal recommendation
from his wife, who is a nurse herself. Until recently, Mum was only allowed to see him in restricted areas, but in the last couple of weeks, she’s been able to see him in his room, which has helped her picture him when she can’t be with him. Dad seems very content, and the staff take good care of him, even on his grumpy days. He reports that the food is really good, and he seems to enjoy spending time with the other residents, COVID permitting. The only slight negative is that it can be tricky getting through on the phone, but when she does, the staff are always happy to talk to Mum and reassure her. Now that we can, we are looking forward to visiting Dad as a family as soon as we can.

Nothing ever seems too much trouble. Everyone is always smiling and seem very happy in their work. There are entertainment days (even in the aftermath of Covid). The home is always spotless and never smells untoward as many do.

I know my father is happy here but it is virtually impossible to get through to you on the phone. I tried every day for two weeks to try and speak to someone and that was six times a day (fitting this between work, using breaks etc.) Not once was the phone picked up. I have the correct number and I
know it's the same for when my mum tries. Please update your phone system or even have an answering system which will get back to someone who calls.

I wouldn't even send my dying dog into this place as the care you get is minimal and if you have a particular reason for extra care then it is not adhered to, and thus, your family or friend suffer more than they should. And, if you are medically trained and ask questions they hate answering them.
Thats even if you can get through on the phone at all, especially on the weekends. And god forbid you ask for a callback, thats a big nono, and if we had the chance to pick again, then it would definitely not be here.

My husband has been a resident in Eccleshare Court since 2017. The home is a friendly community with a big heart. The food is wonderful and the home is clean and comfortable. The care he receives is simply lovely, the staff are thoughtful, kind knowledgeable, and most importantly, caring, led by a manager
who has installed a sense of pride and commitment to the work they all do. I cannot begin to express my gratitude to them the feeling of leaving your beloved husband to be cared for by others is the worst decision I have ever made, but they have all supported both of us, and I know my husband is cared for with dignity and love...Thank you all.

Lisa Dent

Lisa is our manager here at Eccleshare Court. Lisa has been with Country Court for over 15 years, previously managing Swanholme Court and working as Deputy Manager at its sister home Eccleshare Court. Her hard work and dedication were recognised with a staff award for treating residents, staff & relatives with dignity, respect, care & compassion.


David

David Stacey

Job Title: RMN Nurse

Joined: 2018

David joined Eccleshare Court in April 2018, after working as an agency nurse and had done some shifts at Eccleshare over the previous 2-3 months. He really liked the home, so he applied for a permanent role. Prior to this, he worked for United Health in care homes in Lincoln and Scunthorpe so he was familiar with the care home environment.


David felt that he could use his skills in a more meaningful way in a care home, as nurses have much more time with people and don’t just treat them and move them on as quickly as possible. In a care home you get to know a person’s medical history but also their personal background enabling you to build long term relationships not just with them but their families too. You make connections with people that you just don’t get working in acute care. The goal here is about enabling people to have the best possible quality of life.

Noel is our Chef Manager at Eccleshare Court he is a highly skilled chef with a background in catering onboard cruise ships.
Noel works closely with the care team, residents and their families to understand everyone's individual preferences and nutrition needs. He takes care to ensure that he asks for feedback by speaking to residents regularly about their meals.


Noel and his team provide fresh cakes every day in our coffee shop for residents to enjoy with their visitors. Noel is especially creative with celebration cakes for birthdays and special events and ensures that every resident has a personalised birthday cake.
