Eccleshare Court is a purpose-built care home offering nursing, residential and specialist dementia care. The home is located in the quiet residential area of Hartsholme in Lincoln, close to Hartsholme Country Park.

The home features a dementia friendly village with its very own pub, café, shop, hairdressers and nail bar. The facilities provide the opportunity to offer person centred activities in themed areas of the care home. Residents can enjoy dominoes and games in the pub, pampering in the nail bar and socialising and reminiscing over tea and cakes in the café.

The recently refurbished home offers spacious accommodation and each self-contained flat has a kitchenette, sitting area and WC. Residents are encouraged to personalise their room with their own furniture. The newly refurbished lounges have a warm, homely feel and themed areas in corridors have been thoughtfully designed to reflect residents' interests and to stimulate reminiscing.

My father received excellent care in the few days he was there. They built him up with their meals they gave him. We are grateful to everyone there.

My mum came into a transitional care bed from hosptial following a fall. She had a chest infection and a UTI and had some confusion. My dad has Alzheimers and can't live alone. He came as a temporary resident to the care home next door and the staff of both homes helped them to spend the day together.
Both the activities leaders encouraged them to join in activities and tried to involved mum in things she could do - she is registered blind. Encouraging her to recite poetry which she enjoyed doing. She had lost a lot of weight prior to admission as she had stopped eating. The food was excellent and staff encourage both parents with small meals and they are now both eating normally again. Staff treated them with dignity and affection and I am very grateful.

Mum was only in respite for 3 weeks but received excellent care from all the staff and particularly liked the way all residents were spoken to. Even if they couldn't answer, they were treated as human beings at all times.

My mother has been a resident here for 2 and a half years. Initially, we were attracted by the quality of accommodation offered but obviously, there is much more to making a care home feel like home. This happens as a result of the kindness and patience shown by the staff on a daily basis. Most importantly,
I have seen for myself how management is responding to areas recently deemed to 'requires improvement' and I am genuinely impressed by their openness to discuss their shortcomings and their determination to improve their service.

My wife has been a resident at Eccleshare Court since August 2016. She has Vascular dementia and is immobile so nursing care is very important for her as well as personal care and feeding. This has become progressively more demanding over the past 6 months. The care home staff and nursing have done
a good job caring for her especially when I was unable to visit due to illness. Initially undergoing refurbishment when she was admitted with a change in management and a number of new staff it was I who was concerned for her well being, but I did not need to be as she has been well cared for and nursed throughout and the improvements to the home have seen a much better environment especially for the residents. My wife does not communicate now but does seem to have settled in very well.
Regular meetings between Management and residents and relatives are a great help to all concerned as the need for communication all round is important.

Two family members have been resident for over a year. I was pleased and reassured when I first visited the home and I have not been disappointed. Despite the challenges of meeting complex needs, I feel that the care is compassionate, the environment is clean and comfortable and there is a range of
services and activities available. Residents are able to personalise their rooms, visitors are welcomed and engaged with and particular needs are accommodated where possible.


Of late, major redecorating has been undertaking bringing a fresh vibrancy to the home. This has been enhanced by homely touches in lounges and common areas. The walls have stimulating and interesting pictures and there are displays to help with memories and associations.


The garden remains a key centre point of the home at anytime of year. The location of the home puts it in the middle of the community adding stimulus for residents looking out into daily life.

Lisa is our manager here at Eccleshare Court. Lisa has been with Country Court for over 15 years, previously managing Swanholme Court and working as Deputy Manager at its sister home Eccleshare Court. Her hard work and dedication were recognised with a staff award for treating residents, staff & relatives with dignity, respect, care & compassion.


David

David Stacey

Job Title: RMN Nurse

Joined: 2018

David joined Eccleshare Court in April 2018, after working as an agency nurse and had done some shifts at Eccleshare over the previous 2-3 months. He really liked the home, so he applied for a permanent role. Prior to this, he worked for United Health in care homes in Lincoln and Scunthorpe so he was familiar with the care home environment.


David felt that he could use his skills in a more meaningful way in a care home, as nurses have much more time with people and don’t just treat them and move them on as quickly as possible. In a care home you get to know a person’s medical history but also their personal background enabling you to build long term relationships not just with them but their families too. You make connections with people that you just don’t get working in acute care. The goal here is about enabling people to have the best possible quality of life.

Noel is our Chef Manager at Eccleshare Court he is a highly skilled chef with a background in catering onboard cruise ships.
Noel works closely with the care team, residents and their families to understand everyone's individual preferences and nutrition needs. He takes care to ensure that he asks for feedback by speaking to residents regularly about their meals.


Noel and his team provide fresh cakes every day in our coffee shop for residents to enjoy with their visitors. Noel is especially creative with celebration cakes for birthdays and special events and ensures that every resident has a personalised birthday cake.
