My Father is a resident at Hunter's Creek and I cannot fault the care he receives. During January he caught a cold virus and was quite ill. The staff contacted the doctor who visited quickly and they made sure he was comfortable and well-observed during his illness. Also, as he was in the RAF during
the war, they arranged for some local students to interview him and he enjoyed recounting some of his wartime experiences and also enjoyed showing them his uniform and pilot logbooks.

My aunt is now bedridden and requires a lot of care and a special diet. When I visit, she is always clean and her room is tidy. She is regularly bathed and she is occasionally put in a special chair so she can sit with other residents. I have been in many care homes and believe this is one of the best.
I'm very pleased with the way my aunt is treated.

Staff appear very knowledgeable and can prevent fights occurring between Dementia patients and relatives. The only time I have witnessed violence was at dinner times when all the staff were busy taking patients back to their rooms and no staff were present in the dining room. Once the staff are aware,
they are great at stopping it. The artwork on the walls is very stimulating for the Dementia patients and is a very good idea. Overall, one of the best care homes for Dementia all of the family has seen.

My husband has been in Hunter's Creek nearly 3 years and has asked me to complete this on his behalf.
He is very happy with the treatment he has received and finds most of the staff very caring and helpful. The meals are first class and usually on time, with a variety of choice. Activities are good,
but wishes there was some kind of activity at weekends, as not everybody wants to watch television or a DVD.
He does wish there was some transport - like there was at one time, to have visits to local garden centres or to Skegness for fish and ships!! Maybe something can be done about this.

My mother-in-law has been at Hunters Creek for four years now, and in that time has been very well looked after. It is not just the physical care we are pleased with, but the activities for the residents provide mental stimulation. Although my mother-in-law is not always a willing participant, we are
certain it has made a big difference to her quality of life.

I visit my friend to do her hair most weeks. I always find the staff very friendly and caring. The home always looks clean and most important does not smell (odd times there has been a smell but that I know cannot be helped). The residents all seem happy and well looked after. I know several of them
so therefore I chat to them in the communal areas. I love the fact that there's often people in to entertain which i know the residents love. I would be happy for any of my family to be cared for at Hunters Creek.

As most places, the feeling you get about the home depends on who is working on the day, who is working there to earn a wage and who is passionate about their job. We have been when the home smells of urine when you walk in and the person we are visiting hasn't been offered a drink. We have been there
other times and there has been no smell and the staff have been fantastic. When we went yesterday everyone was lovely and helpful. My relative is well looked after and in this day and age of abuse I have no fears. They are happy and for their age look well. The activities in the week are great but lack slightly at the weekend. They look after them on their birthdays and work with the family. I don't think any home ever replaces their own home, but when need 24 hour care, this offers a home in a new building which looks well looked after and has plenty of lounge and sofa areas to sit away from your room. My relative has never mentioned the food once which suggests it is good. The only down side, which isn't anything to do with the home it is a long way from where I live so I don't get to see my relative as much as I would like, so to see when a passionate carer is working and talking to her like a friend is lovely.

My mother has been in the care home as a resident privately funded since October 2014, she enjoys the company but I know she is sometime disappointed by the food and feels more could be done for those residents that have full capacity and are somewhat independent. She appears happy. I would like to
see them do trips out for those residents able to go (there are four homes in the group maybe a shared mini bus) I also feel it unfair that extra's have charges i.e escorts to hospital appointments. Value for money well it seems expensive at around £3,400 per month.

Hunter's Creek provides very good individual care for each residents needs. Care plans and daily details recorded in residents room for staff to read ensuring continuity. Comfortable rooms tailored to residents needs e.g. air mattresses. Attractive reception/sitting area with patio doors and outside
seating for residents etc. Beautiful patio. Efficient, caring and knowledgeable receptionist. Nurses/manager always ready to discuss any issues. All staff treat residents with respect and are sensitive to their feelings and needs, caring for my mother very well.
