My auntie has really improved health-wise since being at King's Court Care Home. She loves joining in the daily activities and going out to town. She really enjoys the meals as she is quite a fussy eater but the kitchen will always make sure she has a meal that she will enjoy before she moved to Kings
Court her appetite was not very good but now she really enjoys all her meals. All the staff are lovely and made my auntie feel really welcome when she arrived the staff go above and beyond to meet my aunties needs even if she wants something from the shops someone will pop out and get what she has asked for. She loves being at Kings Court Care Home and for us as a family it is a relief that we know she is being well cared for and happy where she is.

Thank you for your kind comments, I will ensure that this is passed on to the staff. Your auntie is our Bingo Queen and always participates in the activities with great enthusiasm and I am so pleased that she settled quickly into life here with us at Kings Court.

Fab staff who cared for Grandad, each one gave back his voice and confidence he lost in his stroke. We had peace of mind leaving home knowing he would have support and what felt like friendly faces around him.

Generally service is good. Carers do a sterling job, however, I have concerns about the continous short staff issues. I reported to social services but management blatantly lied over staffing arrangements, when speaking to different carers it became that it is on a regular basis even from a senior member
of staff. Only 2-3 carers a night, which is not acceptable as if there is fire patients won't get out. Reported.

I was unable to answer the question related to management as I have not yet had any dealings with the managers so I asked my friend/resident, he immediately said competent and helpful, then added friendly.
My only other comment would be to say he would prefer to have smaller portions, especially the
mid-day meal, he hates waste. Apart from that he is very happy and satisfied.

Thank you for your feedback. I will pass this on to the staff. It was a pleasure caring for him, he was a true gentleman.

My sister came into the care of the home in October 2022. Altogether, she was there for 18 months. During that time she was treated with respect, love and patience. She was encouraged to remain active, her opinion was valued and her medical GP appointments were kept. As visitors, we were always welcomed,
felt that all the staff knew who we were and everyone was friendly towards us. We would certainly recommend this care home.

My grandma was incredibly happy at Kings Court, she was treated with love, dignity and respect and all of the staff helped to ensure her twilight years were full of happiness. Words cannot express my gratitude to all of the staff.

On our visit, we were assured that my sister was relaxed and happy in the care of the staff at the home. She enjoyed all the activities organised, was confident in the personal diabetic care she received and enjoyed regular conversations with the staff. Our thanks to all the staff at the care home for
their loving care.

Mum was always happy with such a lovely smile on her face. The carers always had time for Mum, the way they talked, supported and cared for Mum was lovely, very professional, very caring and nothing was too much.
She enjoyed the activities and spending time with other residents. She enjoyed the one-to-one
activities such as foot massage, fingernail painting and even the trip to the shops and the local Church.
Kings Court is a happy and safe home.

The care that my father received at Kings Court, was excellent. He spent the last three months of his life at the home. The staff were friendly and caring. They treated Dad with respect at all times, as though he was one of their own. The surroundings are very homely and welcoming. The food was excellent
and Dad really appreciated this, whilst he could. Thank you to the manager and her staff. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend you to anyone.

I cannot praise too highly the staff at Kings Courts Nursing Home. The staff are kind, hardworking and conscientious and the care that my mother received was excellent. Mum had always been anxious about going in to care home but the staff very quickly helped her to feel at home and put her at her ease.
As a family, we also felt that we were welcome and the staff were both kind and courteous to us at all times. I would have no hesitation in recommending Kings Court Nursing Home to anyone who may find themselves in need of full time residential or nursing care.

Our mother arrived at Kings Court in February 2014 and our lives have been enriched in so many ways. The care she receives is second to none and for a long time now she has been much more contended and calmer and this is entirely as a result of the outstanding care she is receiving. The staff are so
friendly and helpful, ever kind and caring and totally dedicated to looking after her every need. Nothing is too much trouble and they always have time to listen to her and talk to her. The team also always have time for my sister and I, they welcome us warmly and include us in all areas of our mother's care, they have become like a second family and help us enormously in understanding our mother's dementia. The food at the home is excellent and I would recommend the home to other friends!

Current Review Score: 9.3 (9.343)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.3 (9.343) out of 10 for Kings Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 9 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.9 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.443 for Kings Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (63 Excellents x 5) + (31 Goods x 4) + (10 Satisfactorys x 3) + (2 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 106 Ratings = 4.443

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.9 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Kings Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 29 registered maximum number of service users is 5.8, which has been reached with 9 Positive reviews. Points = 1

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
