Overall very nice home.
My mum's been here for nearly a year and has been really well looked after.
The staff treat the residents as if they were their own relatives, with care and compassion.
Nothing is too much trouble for them.

My friend was at Seacroft for ten months. The staff are amazing, nothing is too much trouble. Visitors are made to feel welcome if you do have any concerns you feel able to voice them and know you are listened to. The care and love my friend was given was lovely and I felt supported too. The last week
of her life she received the love and care that we would all want. I'm now a volunteer at Seacrodt as I love to go there.

My nan joined this care home around January time, she has dementia and recently lost her husband. She was nervous about leaving home but I can honestly say, she settled so quickly, she has wonderful friends and loves talking to everyone. Her room is beautiful, you can add anything you like to it to
make it her own. The best part about this care home is the staff, they always go above and beyond for her and our family. We always feel welcome, have a laugh and a chat. I can leave knowing my nan is in the best of hands. Overall. the staff absolutely make this place.

From the moment I entered the care home, I was made welcome from management down to the cleaners. I would recommend your home if I had to at any time. I have a great time here.
The only problem would be agency staff not up to spec, but apart from that, no problem at all.
It's been a great stay.

The standards of the home have gone down since my mother arrived. It has needed improvement in all areas according to the CQC since August 2018. Unfortunately, there has been no improvement since then. The present management team have made no progress in addressing the situation. The home as a building
needs money spent on it, especially the heating. They quite often seem to be short-staffed.

Reply from James Wood, Managing Director at Seacroft Court

Whilst acknowledging the home Required Improvement at the last CQC inspection it should be noted that the home implemented a detailed action plan under a newly appointed manager, with all actions noted in the report being addressed. Many of the issues identified were in relation to the environment and staff practice around CoVid 19, all of which have been addressed, with further refurbishment work undertaken, albeit with a small amount due to be completed as lockdown restrictions are lifted.
The home is fully staffed and has had no shortages to its daily staffing roster, in addition, bank staff are employed to cover holiday and absence, and the home enjoys the benefit of a fully recruited team of nurses, which has been expanded of late. During the clients stay no concerns or complaints were raised by the family in relation to the care offered, a letter of thanks and a gift for staff was left by the author when their relative sadly passed away.

The main meals were being served at teatime, not lunchtime. The food at the main meal was good but at completely the wrong time of day. Apart from breakfast, food at other times of the day was not so good. No record was kept of how much fluid had been taken during the day. Actual nursing care was questionable,
as was the input from district nurses and GP. The bedroom always had food on the floor and was generally untidy. The management of the home was also questionable. Hardly any activities for the residents.

I would never send any other person here.
Little to no interaction from staff to residents.
Corridors to bedrooms always covered in food and the floors are sticky.
There’s no real activities or anything to interest residents.

A wonderful, caring home for nearly eight years and was well loved by everyone. The care was exceptional and nothing was too much trouble. The staff became our second family. The quality of the food etc is extremely good and is offered to all visitors.

Current Review Score: 8.4 (8.436)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 8.4 (8.436) out of 10 for Seacroft Court is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.9 out of 5 from 3 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.6 out of 5 from 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.886 for Seacroft Court is calculated as follows: ( (31 Excellents x 5) + (4 Goods x 4) ) ÷ 35 Ratings = 4.886

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.55 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Seacroft Court is based on 3 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.25

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 50 registered maximum number of service users is 10. 3 Positive Reviews ÷ 10 = 0.3

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
