I am happy with the care given to my husband and help from the staff but feel the staff are overworked and need more of them. The food is good.

My father was a resident at Tanglewood Nursing Home for two years. During that time, his health changed from living independently with support to requiring palliative care. Throughout his stay, the staff at Tanglewood were unfailingly compassionate, respectful and thorough and they managed his changing
care needs skillfully and kindly, enabling him to maintain his dignity and safety. I am enormously grateful to this caring and compassionate team. Thank you so much!

My parents are both residents and I know they are looked after physically, emotionally and mentally and we are very happy. The staff are professional, helpful and friendly and often go above and beyond! Would highly recommend.

Tanglewood Nursing Home is a lovely home, it's modern, purpose-built and has a lot of personal touches that make it feel more homely; especially in the dementia area with shops, countryside etc scenes on the walls. The personal care is excellent and Dad is always treated with dignity. I am satisfied
with the manner in which Dad is treated as an individual, with the staff interacting with his unique character to keep him happy and contented. The only area where I believe there is room for improvement is the communication between staff members. On a few occasions, I have requested a change to improve Dad's care which has been agreed, but the message never seems to be relayed to all staff, meaning only some are putting the change into action, even weeks after the request.

My dad has been at Tanglewood Nursing Home for one year. Initially to rehab post-stroke, unfortunately, with further strokes and dementia, his condition has worsened. His needs are complex and vary from day to day. The staff are superb, very caring and work together as a team. Good home-cooked hot food
at lunch, soup and sandwiches for tea. They alter food choices on the day if a resident changes their mind. The manager is excellent, listens and cares and responds efficiently and thoroughly to any concerns or requests.

Mum is always happy and smiling. The staff are all so kind and supportive, ensuring Mum is safe and well cared for at all times. Mum has dementia and needs assistance with everything. The manager is so approachable and makes you feel very welcome in the home. I would recommend Tanglewood to anyone looking
for a lovely home for their loved ones.

From the beginning, my 90-year-old Mum was made to feel welcome at Tanglewood Nursing Home when she admitted for assessment and respite care following a fractured hip operation and worsening dementia. As her daughter, I was consulted and guided in all aspects of her care by the cheerful and caring team.
Despite Covid restrictions, window visits and following quarantine, the all-important face to 'mask' reunions were readily accommodated. Thanks to the staff and the very stylish surroundings, Mum feels totally at home. The grounds are lovely and everywhere is spotless, neat and well organised. Thanks also to the dedicated activities team, Mum has responded well to the stimulation and her dementia has 'improved'. The nursing team are proactive in alerting me to any potential health problems (slips, trips and falls and fluid monitoring) and all in all, it's a huge relief to know that Mum is being looked after so well. Tanglewood Nursing Home is highly recommended.

My mum was diagnosed with terminal oesophagus cancer and spent the last 10-days of her life in Tanglewood in Horncastle. It is an amazing home, and we could not have had better care for my mum. They looked after me, my husband and our daughter whilst we sat with her for the last hours. They let me spend
the last night with her as I did not want to leave her. The compassion from the staff was second to none. We could not fault it at all. Totally recommend this home.

My wife had terminal cancer and was given a prognosis of 3-months. I needed a nursing home that could look after my wife's complex nursing needs and treat her with the care and dignity that every human being deserves. I must admit, I was very hesitant to admit her to Tanglewood, but after meeting the
home manager and discussing my wife's needs, I felt that this was the best place for her. The manager runs a very tight ship, and her staff are told that it's not just the resident that they look after, it's also the resident's visitors. Nothing was too much trouble for the staff, and I wouldn't hesitate in recommending Tanglewood in Horncastle in the future.

Tanglewood Care Home in Horncastle is within pleasant facilities in a beautiful Lincolnshire Wolds market town. There is a lovely secure garden for residents and visitors to sit together. The building interior is bright with lots of windows overlooking the garden. My mother moved to Tanglewood in the
New Year 2020. For 3 months she was in a single room and then was fortunate to live in a double room just as COVID19 hit the UK. The staff were always friendly, welcoming and happy to assist with any special requirements. During the past 9 months, their dedication to their job and the residents was outstanding. There was a special bond between carers and residents in trying to beat the virus. The staff were also pro-active with regards to special occasions e.g. bake cakes for birthdays and arrange dedicated activities around special calendar events. The activities co-ordinator communicated well with families in terms of keeping everyone informed of the weekly plan for residents and us.

Tanglewood, Horncastle is blessed with pleasant facilities in a beautiful wolds market town location. There is a lovely secure garden for residents and visitors to sit together and the building interior is bright with lots of windows overlooking the garden. It was a difficult decision for the family to move Mum into a care home. Mum has dementia and was not coping well on her own after Dad died. We persuaded Mum to 'give Tanglewood a try' and without doubt, it is the best decision we ever made. The staff are very professional, respectful and caring with
a positive attitude. As soon as you enter the home, you are met with a friendly greeting. All of the staff are friendly and cheerful and make a fuss of Mum if she is returning from a day out. I can tell by the way they talk to Mum and her reaction to them, they really know and understand her. During the pandemic, we have received regular updates. Mum is very sociable and the home with all the activities (usually twice a day) is ideal. Taking part is optional and not forced upon anyone. The food is excellent with plenty of variety. Mum loved to cook and really enjoys the food. Family can book a lunch too. Marked down value for money and room because of small room size and no ensuite.

Mum moved into Tanglewood almost six years ago following the death of my Dad. I was very concerned initially because the home where my Dad had been for only less than a week in Grantham was terrible, so for the first 2 years of Mum being in Tanglewood I visited every day at all hours to try and catch
them out but thankfully I never did.
The staff are lovely and caring, always welcoming. My Mum is as happy as one could be in a nursing home. The activities are varied, plenty to do and everyone is encouraged to participate if they want. Outside entertainment is provided in normal times. The food is plentiful and of very good quality.
It is a very clean and warm environment.
My only grumbles are :
1. It would be nice to have canopies outside so residents could be outside more, possibly eat their meals outside, etc. in mild weather.
2. Instead of spending on replacing still serviceable furnishings, etc. put the money towards staff pay rises.
The COVID crisis has been handled brilliantly.

My husband is well looked after. The staff are excellent. There used to be a smell of urine (very strong) but I have noticed there has been no smell these last few weeks. Food is excellent but needs to drink more as he is prone to urine infections. It would be nice if they could play music in the rooms
as this seems to calm him down. Not only has he dementia, but has a lot of other things wrong with his health so the staff really look after him and keep me informed by phone when he is poorly.

Early days but so far I feel happy with the care that my friend is receiving. This is a very expensive home and the care is probably no better than somewhere cheaper. The environment is very comfortable, plush decor and high standards in how things are presented (dining table, etc). This group of homes
have a corporate image that resembles a five star hotel but I'm more concerned about the nursing care. No reason for complaint so far, staff seem respectful and helpful. Occasionally I've had to ask that my friend gets her hair washed and the laundry can be an issue with clothes going missing.

My very elderly and frail grandmother moved to Tanglewood recently. The care and kindness the staff have shown to Grandma is so touching and they consider her dignity at all times. I always leave the home knowing Grandma is going to be cared for properly, considering her needs at all times. The manager
is professional and efficient and has such empathy with families, she clearly understands how difficult it is for us to place our most wonderful grandmother into her care.

I am excited to be starting my journey with Tanglewood to continue to progress and develop in a career that I love.
Personal experiences led me to switch from retail management to pursuing a career in care. I started my journey as a support worker in 2016. My main goal was to repay the care and kindness of the people involved in my own families care and rehabilitation. I have a wealth of knowledge from working in various different settings, in varied roles with different client groups. I have been lucky to have worked with fabulous managers who have helped me develop, grow and achieve my ambitions so far.
I am committed and passionate about providing a safe, welcoming and happy home for the people that live, visit and work at the service. Prioritizing the physical, emotional and social needs of our residents and staff.
I have self-funded my own learning and have completed The Certificate of Higher Education in Adult Health and Social Care and gained a Level 5 qualification in Leadership and Management for Adult Care. I am keen to work towards level 6 and 7 qualifications in the future.
My proudest achievement has been being nominated for the Care Home Registered Manager Award for the Lincolnshire Care Awards two years running by the staff and residents at my previous service. I won the award in March 2024 and remain dedicated and proud of the work I do to make a real difference to people’s lives.
In my personal life I love animals and enjoy reading, learning, theatre, spending time with my family and walking. I am a proud Mum, Daughter and Wife. My family are very supportive, which enables me to have a calm and positive approach and dedicate myself to the work I do to enhance people’s lives.
