My mum came into Willow Court for respite and has been supported by all the staff for all her care needs. I feel they have a great understanding of my mum's needs. She is treated with dignity and care as we would all like to be treated. The staff and management are always willing to answer any questions
and keep the family up to date. I have nothing but love for everyone who works there.

My mum has been in Willow Court since October 2019. The staff were very welcoming to Mum and the family. The manager of the Kingfisher unit is excellent. She is very honest, reassuring and informative of any changes in Mum's condition, she is always very supportive. The staff always listens to concerns
and manages them alongside the home manager and provides feedback. Mum has had a hospital admission in recent weeks and since returning to Willow Court the care she receives has been amazing. She has been treated with dignity and respect, she is always comfortable. Diet and fluid are always offered to Mum according to what she can manage.

My mother was a resident here for a few months before her death in April 2021. First and foremost the staff on the front line were excellent.
The room was just about acceptable from a size point of view, that wasn’t an en-suite, more like a cupboard so in my view value for money was very poor and also
what I saw of the food basic, to say the least.
What concerns me more is what the staff are being paid. It’s not enough when you look at the dividends the company is paying itself and also where the company has based itself - outside the UK.
The staff should be paid more and the dividends the owners are getting should be less!
My thanks go to the staff for looking after my mother.
To the owners, I say please pay your staff more money for the caring work they do.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We really appreciate you recognising the hard work our care staff undertake each day; we value them immensely. The pay our staff receive is currently under review and a new pay and reward scheme is soon to be implemented. I am very sorry you were not completely satisfied with some aspects of the service we offered. I would have been more than happy to discuss any concerns with your Mother and you at the time to seek to resolve them.

Difficult to complete just now as only the second visit in seven months. On the value for money, I think it is expensive, especially when compared to others who get assistance. Unfair that just because you save or have a property, you pay so much more.

My husband came to Willow Court Care Home in July 2020. He has received excellent care and the staff are very helpful and attentive to his needs. I am informed of any changes and they will answer any queries I have. I am very impressed with the standard of Willow Court and would recommend them to any
family with health issues.

It is wonderful and so heartwarming to have our lovely dad settled into Willow Court. He has been at Willow Court for four weeks now. The kindness and care of the whole staff has been more than we could wish for. The professionalism of the manager and administrator is outstanding. Thank you for treating
our amazing dad with dignity and showing him, that we feel united in, love for him.

My mother was resident at Willow Court for 18 months until her death in March 2020. During that time the care, compassion and kindness shown to her by all the staff was remarkable. And this care was extended to my family at the end when we had a bedside vigil over several days. It was always lovely
to see how my mum reacted with a smile to staff when they came in to see her. She clearly trusted them and it was very evident that the staff genuinely cared for her as a person, not just a resident. The manager was brilliant throughout, and whenever we expressed any concerns over mum's care, she would always ensure that the necessary action was taken to reassure us. I would thoroughly recommend this care home.

Was treated with respect and kindness. The staff and management I can find no fault.
When I arrived here I was quite poorly both physically and mentally. With all the kindness, care and support I am now feeling well in both aspects.

What more can you say? This house fills all the needs. The food is excellent, staff and management are extremely helpful and kind. The nurses are most kind and helpful once again. The activities are excellent and the lady who assists is worth her weight in gold.

My mum came to Willow Court for End of Life Palliative care for terminal cancer and she spent the last three and a half weeks of her life in their care. I could not have asked for her to have any better care, she was treated with care, respect and dignity every day and even after she passed. The Nurses
and Carers and in fact all staff were so kind and the support they gave myself and mum's husband was all that we could've wished for. Mum was so very poorly when she came to Willow Court and needed a lot of care and that is exactly what she got. A wonderful place with wonderful staff, thank you so much.

Mum discharged from hospital to Willow Court and stayed there in respite for 5 weeks. The staff were superb with mum, made her welcome and it felt just like home. Mum went into the home in her wheelchair and was able to walk out independently using her frame due to the good food, care, encouragement
and understanding mum received during her stay. The activities and cognitive stimulation gave me my old mum back. I wish she could have stayed long term at Willow Court to enable us to continue enjoying our time together.

My father was placed at Willow Court Care Home in January 2019 in a nursing care placement funded by the NHS. The initial meeting with the manager was positive and when the placement was being planned, action was swift and efficient although there was potential for improved communication ie agreed date
of transfer from hospital to the care home was not shared with me either by the hospital or the care home manager, I found out by chance as my son visited the hospital and found Dad being organised for transportation.

There are a number of other areas that could be improved which I shall share with the manager, in writing, once the affairs of my father are settled.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We are pleased you felt the overall experience was good and that you are extremely likely to recommend our home. We apologise that communication could have been better, however following the preadmission assessment on 18 January 2019, it was discussed with your Father and sister who was at the assessment, that we could admit the following day. The hospital ward was also made aware of this so that transport and medication arrangements could be made; our understanding was that this information would have been relayed to you. We will endeavour to improve communication between all involved to avoid this happening again.

I moved my mother to this home from another home with a little bit of apprehension.
I was completely wrong my mother was so welcomed and made to feel so at home it was marvellous. I visit her every other day and she has nothing but praise for the staff, home and I can only agree with her. A very well
looked after home and very friendly staff, all the way up the ladder. I would highly recommend this home.

As a family, we have been delighted with both the treatment of my husband and the care and consideration as a family we have been given.
The staff are extremely kind and helpful at all times. In particular, the effort put into stimulating activities is wonderful. The management and administration staff
are extremely efficient and professional.

My mum has been in Willow Court for 4 weeks so far. The staff are all excellent, she is very well cared for. All staff are so friendly, helpful and kind. There are daily activities and every effort is made to include her in these, carers are very supportive and encouraging in helping her to regain her
mobility, following a fall at home.

I visited my aunt in November. As I live in the Channel Islands, my visits are infrequent, approximately 6 months. I am my aunt's deputy and manage her funds etc. I found the staff very caring and supportive towards my aunt and all the other residents. I was requested to take part in a care review for
my aunt - this was reassuring as her needs and well-being are clearly understood by the team. I feel my aunt is in good hands.

This experience of HC One Willow Court is a very important one as the home is an example of how to run and staff a care home. I have had an experience of many homes and the management at HC One Willow Court and their staff are outstanding humans and committed to their vocations. I hope that homes like
this become models for the improvement of care services in the UK.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.103)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.103) out of 10 for Willow Court Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.4 out of 5 from 10 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.7 out of 5 from 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.370 for Willow Court Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (78 Excellents x 5) + (29 Goods x 4) + (1 Satisfactorys x 3) + (11 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 119 Ratings = 4.37

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.733 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Willow Court Care Home is based on 9 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.9

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 54 registered maximum number of service users is 10.8. 9 Positive Reviews ÷ 10.8 = 0.833

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
