The staff are always happy, friendly and approachable. The facilities are good and although my father prefers not to take part in any of the activities, the staff ensure there are plenty of options available for residents. The décor is a little outdated and the home could benefit from a freshen up!
Overall I have been very satisfied with the care my dad receives at Woodview Care Home.

This excellent care and nursing home offers a dedicated and professional service to everyone - residents AND their relatives. The addition of 24-hour qualified nursing staff to the carefully selected and highly trained care staff makes this home stand out. In order to ensure the highest standards of
care being available to every individual resident, the staff are always willing to go to the utmost of their ability and commitment.
Importantly, the administration of the home is also excellent and the manager is always available to visitors (and to residents) to discuss any problems or enquiries they may have.
Care is supplemented by a range of activities provided by a dedicated activities leader, aimed at allowing residents to take part in such pastimes as painting, drawing, knitting and so on.
This home is an ideal choice for anyone seeking peace of mind over choosing the right home for their needs - or those of a relative.

Having been in Woodview for 20 months, I have improved healthwise due to the care and attention from all the staff in all departments. I can think of no issues that would change my mind in that department.

The care home is quite a comfortable place to be. The staff are very helpful in most ways. There's entertainment in an afternoon and trips out which are most enjoyable. The room is kept very clean. The food is quite good and palatable. I am quite happy here.

Current Review Score: 7.7 (7.697)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 7.7 (7.697) out of 10 for Woodview Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 3.8 out of 5 from 6 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 3.9 out of 5 from 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 3.800 for Woodview Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (26 Excellents x 5) + (25 Goods x 4) + (7 Satisfactorys x 3) + (3 Poors x 2) + (9 Very Poors x 1) ) ÷ 70 Ratings = 3.8

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 3.897 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Woodview Care Home is based on 5 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 = 3.5

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 63 registered maximum number of service users is 12.6. 5 Positive Reviews ÷ 12.6 = 0.397

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.
