My dad has been in your care for three months in what was an unexpected downturn in his health. His family around him have been made to feel so welcome in this time which has meant he has a constant diary of visitors. The team go the extra mile on every occasion and has not only facilitated a beautiful
golden wedding party but also enabled us to have an extra special Christmas with ten of us being accommodated in beautiful surroundings with delicious food, all by a wonderfully friendly team. Thank you for everything you do and have done.

My mother has been in Barchester Claremont Parkway Care Home for the last eighteen months. In the last four months, three of the residents, including her, formed a very close bond. The youngest of them died unexpectedly in hospital on a Friday evening. My mum and the other resident were shocked and
bereft. Her death was totally unexpected. A carer in charge of activities came in on her day off without being asked to comfort them both. She was so caring and went way above the call of duty. A simply marvellous asset to Claremont.

My wife has been a resident at Barchester Claremont Parkway Care Home since May 2024, where she was originally placed by local authorities for respite care, after release from hospital where she was treated for a serious stroke. Whilst at Claremont, she has had good care, treated with dignity, care
staff look after her well. The manager has provided me with some invaluable advice over the past months.

Overall experience was good and all staff were lovely and caring. They always had time to talk to us and update our family. Very nice and clean environment, pleasant lounges for visiting times. Only complaint was the bathroom bin and bag for stoma disposal were not changed during the respite week.

The two areas which I feel need attention are;
1) Staff levels - the staff, especially carers, are very stretched which means residents often have very lengthy waits for attention.
2) The food - menu items are sometimes strange choices for elderly residents, with foreign/vegetarian options with which
they are unfamiliar. I suspect simpler, more traditional offerings (shepherd pie, for instance) would be more popular and get eaten.

Before choosing to send Mum to Barchester Claremont Parkway Care Home we visited a number of local alternatives and have not been disappointed with the choice we made on her behalf. Claremont Parkway is a very well-appointed care home, my mum's reaction on being shown around was very posh and that's
from someone who sets her standards high. We have found the care provided to be kind, compassionate, professional and flexible. This attitude pervades the organisation and having talked privately to staff I know they feel valued and cared for. Excellent.

My mother has been in Barchester Claremont Parkway Care Home for nearly four years and I can't praise and thank the staff enough for their excellent care. My mother is always clean and tidy and chats to the staff who know all her little ways and character. No task, however small, is too much trouble,
any concerns are sorted quickly. I know my mother is safe and comfortable which is a great comfort to the rest of the family. Thank you all.

For me, the staff are the vital core of the care home. The upgrade in material facilities which of course have helped with the ambience of the home. I am sure the staff are more relaxed. I genuinely feel there is a comfortable empathy between residents and staff. As a visitor, I have found it easy to

My Dad has recently gone to the Claremont Parkway for respite care and we are very happy with the support he is receiving. He needs a lot of help and he is given this with compassion, understanding and good humour - he loves to joke with the staff and they jolly him along when he is in the doldrums.
They have even got him joining in with some of the musical events, which is something I thought I'd never see! Beyond that, the staff have arranged for him to have a trip out each week so that he can keep doing some of his weekly activities, which he has really appreciated and makes such a difference.
The staff are all lovely and friendly and clearly care about the residents. They are happy to help with whatever the request is and have responded quickly to any concerns raised. Altogether, we are very pleased with how Dad is being looked after, and fully appreciate that this is not an easy job - the team there have made a difficult time much easier for us all.

We also make sure everyone has the bed and mattress they need according to their needs. And then I look forward to helping people begin the new day feeling as well as they can. Food is freshly cooked in our own kitchen and we can blend or thicken food and drinks for residents who require some support with swallowing. We also have Dining Hosts to provide assistance with menu choices and serving. We have lots of celebrations and special events here so the Kitchen Team and I make lots of cakes and treats.

Hello, my name is Madalina and I'm the Head of Housekeeping here at Claremont Parkway.


I joined the Claremont Parkway team in 2016. Starting in laundry and working my way up to learn all the necessary skills to provide the quality of service Barchester Healthcare requires of a Head of Housekeeping. I'm an organised person who believes everything has its place. It is a daily pleasure for me to be able to care for our residents’ rooms and their belongings. Getting to know them, and their families is a real privilege.


I’m a local lady with a teenage son, husband and dog! With a passion for horticulture and house plants, the flora in and around Claremont Parkway will also be safe in my hands.

I like to see residents making friends and chatting with each other. We also have regular visits by therapy pets which residents find very relaxing.
