Abington Park View Care Home is located opposite Abington Park in Northampton town and has 25 rooms that are suitable for older people and adults diagnosed with dementia.

Abington Park View provides a warm, loving, homely setting with a professional service. It is supported by fundamental principles committed to enhancing the quality of residents' lives. The home has recently been extended and refurbished. It has a new passenger lift and platform lift, 2 stairlifts, one on either wing, 3 communal spaces plus newly landscaped garden.

Residents' privacy and dignity are respected at all times. In addition, residents are encouraged to maintain their independence and are given the choice to select activities to ensure their rights are preserved.

Staff at Abington Park View are highly skilled, trained and experienced in helping adults suffering from dementia and are trained to help those with both physical, mental disabilities and in sensory issues.

The home provides freshly cooked meals daily for all residents. There are regular ongoing activities for the residents on a daily basis plus live music entertainers each month. Residents are regularly taken out to the park, theatre, shopping, etc.

The care home has consistently achieved good CQC ratings.

I could not praise the staff enough, for the love, care and passion they have for all of their residents. The warmth and comfort I personally received will never go forgotten. Always clean and the residents always happy. The care that everyone gave to my grandad was excellent. Unfortunately, we lost
grandad in April but the staff on shift that day took so much care of us as a family. I visited yesterday to say hello to staff and residents and was welcomed with open arms, activities and games being led by staff and the interaction with all residents was great. Each resident is well known and small things to help them feel more at home are thought of and put in place. Thank you to those special people who loved my grandad with us.

Abington Park View is taking wonderful care of my grandmother. All the staff are lovely and caring. They take into consideration individual needs. We are greeted warmly when visiting. They are always open to suggestions and make changes to care needs.

The home is welcoming at all times and keeps in regular contact during which it is apparent the staff know and care about the residents. Staff are retained with a low turnover. Any requests are quickly actioned. The residents look well and are clean and tidy. The meals especially the afternoon tea style
of the evening meal are attractive and appetising.

My mum has now been at Abington Park View for over a year. My mum has lost near all her vocabulary to speak and had become very detached, drowsy and seemed depressed. The manager was adamant that this is not normal for a dementia patient and the team have really helped Mum to come back more to herself.
I visit mum twice a week as does her husband. Mum is definitely more expressive even without many words. Mum's wicked sense of humour is back. She teases the grandchildren on video calls again. I have witnessed a few mealtimes. Residents are encouraged to keep as much independence during meals as possible with help available once needed. The staff work really hard and invest a lot of time in getting to know the residents. When I ring up I will be given detailed information about how mum is. We have navigated hospital visits and Doctors with ease. They also have the local church visit along with entertainment which is really appreciated by Mum.

I have found the care given to my mother (and other residents) has been first rate, I can think of no negatives at all. From the manageress, and carers to the cook - all very friendly with nothing too much trouble, regular updates either by email or phone. The home is very clean and well-maintained.
I would not hesitate in recommending Abington Park View.

Abington Park View is a caring establishment where staff understand and support the individual needs of residents. The well-being of residents is their number one priority. Residents are treated with dignity and respect. The care home is always clean and there is a programme of improvements always geared
towards improving the quality of life of residents. The way in which the home has cared for residents during the Covid-19 pandemic is exemplary. I have nothing but admiration for the work of the carers. Abington Park View is a true 'home'.

My husband and I are extremely happy with my late mother-in-law’s care at this home. The staff were extremely caring and kind and did everything possible to make sure her needs and wishes were met. The home is extremely clean and she had a really lovely room with a great outlook over to the park. We
cannot praise the staff highly enough with the standard of care she received, following the upheaval of moving to Northampton from Essex, where she had lived for many years. We would not hesitate to recommend the home to anyone who needed a residential home for a relative.

I really cannot sing the praises of this care home highly enough. My dad was sometimes a "difficult" resident but the care and consideration he received were truly wonderful. The staff and management are fantastic people, the home is always clean and fresh, the food is great etc.
If I could live there
I would!
I have absolutely nothing but love and admiration for everyone at Abington Park View.

We are extremely pleased with the care. All staff are very professional and caring and we are led by a care manager who goes above and beyond her duties to residents families and her staff. The owners too are very caring and friendly.
The home gives an ambience of one big happy family. When some residents
become upset due to their condition, staff have had good training in overcoming the problem and settle residents in a loving calm manner.
They have wonderful activities eg making Easter bonnets, Christmas parties, celebrating festivals such as Chinese New Year, trips to the garden centre and outings to the local park have also been organised.
Families are also updated on what goes on in the home with meetings throughout the year.

Our auntie was admitted to Abington Park View in December 2018. The owners and the manager did everything in their power to support us and help us make the right decisions. Our auntie is kept impeccably clean and smart, fed very well, kept warm and occupied. The room is lovely and kept very clean. We
can't thank all the members of staff for their hard work. The Christmas activities were tremendous and homely.

My 95-year-old mother was discharged from the local hospital after a fall and was placed in Abington Park View. Due to her very confused state of mind caused by her dementia, her arrival at the home was very distressing and this was compounded by having to wait in the discharge lounge at the hospital
for six hours. On her arrival, the manager met my mother and with compassion and understanding, was able to calm her down and reassure her. The following day I visited and was impressed with the treatment my mother was receiving from all members of staff, they were constantly monitoring her and working with each other to ensure that she became familiar with her surroundings. I was extremely pleased with the work being done by the manager to ensure that all protocols were being followed and she kept me fully informed at each stage. Her professionalism and dedication to the residents and her calm reassuring manner is an inspiration to her staff. I highly recommend Abington Park View.

My wife and I have been visiting the home since December '15 and have always found the home very clean. The residents are looked after very well and all the staff are pleasant, friendly and caring and a credit to the home.

My mother is very happy in the home. She is well looked after. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. She feels safe. I have every confidence in them. From the moment you walk into the home, you sense a friendly welcoming atmosphere. It is a clean environment and there are no nasty odours. My father is residing here. He is 93 years old and as he was falling at home and lives a long way away from us. We decided he needed to be in a care home.
Having looked at around ten homes, we chose this home because the staff are caring and efficient, the owners are pleasant and my father enjoys
being there.

My name is Sarahjane and I am the Manager here at Abington Park View. I have a passion for delivering truly, quality driven care and a particular passion for dementia care, believing that every individual with a dementia, can live a fulfilling life .I have a vast amount of experience of consistently delivering high standards of care over the past 20 years. I have shaped and managed APV for the past 3 and a half years (with a gap of 3 months). My main responsibilities are to oversee the safe and effective management of the Home, ensuring standards are maintained and exceeded. We have developed a team with exceptional values and commitment to delivering safe, quality care support. I am very proud of what we have achieved so far and what we can still achieve, striving for continuous improvement, led by our residents. This is a bespoke Home providing a bespoke, truly personalised service. All departments work hard as a team to create and understand the needs of our residents. Our Home and the decisions taken within it are led by our residents, from where a picture is to be hung, to the colour of their bedrooms, to what the menu consists of. Everyday, we strive to ensure APV is a place where our residents experience Joy and Happiness and a place where we strive to continuously, enhance, lives. We are told often what a lovely ‘feel’ the Home has and how consistent the staff team is, mostly, the team have been together for a number of years, which says much about the APV ‘family’ particularly in the current climate.

Hi my name is Steven, I am the Health and Safety and Maintenance Manager at Abington park view care home. One of the most positive aspects of working here is the team spirit. Everyone from household, seniors, wellbeing coordinators and kitchen staff all work together making sure all is done safely and properly for the benefit of our residents. We all try to work as efficiently as possible and one of my roles is to facilitate this process considering the needs of staff and residents thereby creating a happy and pleasant atmosphere.
My primary concern is the comfort and safety of all our residents and staff. No less important my role also encompasses the security and safety of the building it's framework and contents. I work proactively to pre-empt risk and find solutions to ensure well-being and needs are met for everyone here. It's an ever-changing environment of new challenges and developments and during my time here I have bought many projects to successful completion. These include both improvements in the working environment for the staff and enhancing the atmosphere of the resident’s home here at Abington Park view.

My name is Lisa, and I am the wellbeing co-ordinator at Abington Park View. My role is to enhance resident’s wellbeing by providing both one to one and group activities catered to everyone’s individual needs. This may be an activity surrounding previous occupations, hobbies, interests or to support with emotional needs by providing companionship and reassurance. Where possible I arrange for visits outside of the home and make great use of the superb locality to Abington Park. During the restrictions of covid my role has become integral to supporting residents who were unable to be visited by their relatives or access the community and proved how vital activities and social interactions are for anyone’s emotional wellbeing.
