From the moment my sister joined the home I feel she has been extremely well cared for. She seemed to settle after the first 6 months and now after 4 years I can say she is extremely settled and happy. The staff are always kind and caring and always have time to speak to me and keep me advised of my
sister's health. Very happy with Ashurst.

Above all, it is the staff who make the place what it is - always greeting residents and families with a smile, always attentive to the needs of both (only 1 ' non-smiler' seen in 5 weeks of visiting)! All the teams have systems that are well adhered to, housekeeping - not only very efficient with their
daily routine but giving time to the residents and visitors too. Activities coordinator provides a wonderful range of activities. Meals are amazing and all the extra culinary delights for special occasions certainly have the 'wow' factor. So many extras make this home special - flower displays, visiting hand massage, seamstress. The floor care teams are wonderful and get to know their residents well. Their 'one to one' is lovely - but of course, never enough of it with the routines/paperwork that has to be adhered to which occasionally can mean stress for some dementia residents can escalate. The fact that the home runs so well must be down to quiet, but 'on the ball', manager, deputy and team leaders.
Now, if they did day care.........?

Although our mum has only had a short stay, this is just the sort of care home you would want for your family. All of the staff are welcoming, friendly and helpful. The facilities are plentiful and the environment clean and welcoming. Thanks to everybody here at Ashurst Mews Care Home.

My mother recently moved into her new home and she suffered from two chest infections. The staff were absolutely amazing. Their kindness, care and attention were unending and thorough. Happily, my mother has pulled through. I can't thank the staff enough for their patience and support. It is a lovely

There are not enough superlatives to describe quality of care my mother received during her respite stay at Ashurst Mews.
Quality of building, amenities, all outstanding but even better, the humour, positivity, patience, compassion and care shown by all staff. From carers to kitchen.

When the time had come for Mum to choose a care home she decided on Ashurst mews. She has now settled in nicely having been there for 6 months.

Moving mum into a residential home was a very difficult and emotional experience. The staff at Ashurst were excellent at understanding mum's needs and settling her in very quickly. Knowing that all of mum's care needs, especially her own concerns, are being met is a great comfort. We always find the

I can't think of a better home for my Father to live in. Where I was struggling to keep him safe in his own home. At Ashurst court, all his needs are met. He is well looked after. He has regained his confidence and has a sense of purpose in life. I can't thank the manager and her incredible hard working
team who protect my father twenty four hours a day. The home is very clean and well organised.
We are very happy for my Dad to be here. I can rest knowing he is extremely well cared for.

My mother was in need of a great deal of care as she has fibromyalgia and now feels her legs will not carry her. At Ashurst Mews Care Home they soon recognised which equipment she would need to fulfill her every need. The home is light and airy unlike many I visited while trying to choose a home for
mum. It is kept spotless and doesn't smell unpleasant. The manageress is kind and always cheery and joins in with lunch, activities, etc. The staff are a great team always listening to any of your concerns and getting things done quickly to put your mind at rest. I cannot fault them in any way and my mum is settling in well. already calling her room home!

Mum was here as a resident and although very reluctant to move in to "an old people's home" she soon settled in. All of the staff recognise how difficult the initial transition is, and helped enormously to make her feel at home. The staff knew the names of her family and would always greet us when we
visited.
It was lovely to see her joining in the daily activities and she loved having her nails done and the weekly hairdresser's visit. When she became ill and we knew that she would not recover, the staff asked if she could return to the home for her final days - they could not have done more for her, with everyone from cleaners, waitresses, to the manager all calling into her room to see her every day and pass on their thoughts.
When I stayed overnight, a staff member would sit outside her room in case anything happened whilst I was asleep. They made the whole process of Mum's passing so much easier and I will be forever grateful to them all for the wonderful care that she received.

Staff were exceptional when we came to view the home. Very attentive and knowledgeable. Visit to assess nan was reassuring. Transfer to home and welcome was smooth. Took a day or two to settle in (natural) communication between nan and some staff has been difficult due to hearing/accents. Only criticism
to date has been the poor quality of pillows and screwed up sheets on the bed. One nursing issue which was addressed immediately. So far so good!

My parents tarted living at this care home in January 2016. Without exception I have found the level of care exceptional. The manager and her staff go well beyond the call of duty to deliver the best possible experience for all the family at a very emotional time.
The home is beautifully decorated
throughout and has none of the less pleasant aspects common to other homes.

I visit this home on a regular basis and I am always treated by such friendly staff. Everyone from the receptionist to the activities co ordinator always have lovely smiles on their faces. The residents I see will always tell me what they have been up to and it is evident how much fun they have on their
Facebook page.
Not being too many years away from retiring myself, I would absolutely choose this home to live.

The care home is a nice size (not too big) plush, modern, clean and in my opinion well run. The staff are very good with the residents and visitors alike. They treat the residents with respect and dignity not forcing anything on anyone and the care is what you would hope my mother has been here now
for four months and I have been very happy with everything.

My name is Bindu and I am the Home Deputy Manager here at Ashurst Mews, my role is to oversee the home runs smoothly in the Home Manager's absence. I oversee the Nursing Team and support all of the team to provide Person-Centred care and that all resident's needs are met.


I started my career as a Qualified Nurse back home in India. I moved to the UK for a higher study in Nursing, graduating BSC Hons from the University of Bedfordshire. I started my career as a Home Carer, was promoted to Senior, Team Leader and then was given the opportunity to become an Advanced Care Practitioner for nursing care. I was encouraged and promoted to Deputy Manager, I have been working at Ashurst Mews for 12 years now.


I am proud to be a part of the wonderful caring Ashurst Team, I am very compassionate, dedicated and committed to my team, residents and families.

Keeley Wan

Job Title: Head Chef

Joined: 2017

Hello, I'm Keeley and I work in the kitchen at Ashurst Mews as Head Chef.


I have actually worked for Avery for 13 years, working in 4 different homes during this time, but I have settled and found my future here at Ashurst Mews where I have now been for 6 years.


Part of my role is to come up with different meals that are both healthy, nutritious and tasty. I tailor the meals to the individual needs and dietary requirements of each resident within the home and make these meals look inviting and the menus appealing.


My favourite thing about my role is seeing the faces of the residents tucking into their food, with my favourite quote being " That was my favourite meal." In my kitchen, I also spend time making sweet treats, for staff birthdays, coffee mornings, visitors and my most enjoyable to make, the resident's birthday cakes. When their faces light up it really makes my day.

Job Title: Well-Being & Activities Coordinator

My name is Georgina & I am the Well-Being & Activities Coordinator at Ashurst Mews. I am new to the role but have many years of experience in activities, planning and supporting the well-being of others.


I largely gained my experience from working within the Educational System for 15 years, working my way from unqualified to management, using my skills as transferable skills to the home.


I really enjoy event planning and making each and every activity larger than life, adding the small details and tailoring the day to the residents and also our families and friends.


My family are very close and we enjoy taking time out of our personal lives to support the elderly within our community, so what better way to extend that than to support those residing in Ashurst Mews? I am excited about the future and can't wait to share it with you all.

Hi, I'm Julia and I have worked at Ashurst Mews Since May 2017.


Within my role I ensure the house is kept in a presentable condition, and that residents are living in a warm, welcoming, clean and fresh environment, making this their home from home and a place they are comfortable in.


I have a team who work alongside me, they are a very strong and reliable team who work hard to maintain high standards. I am proud of my team and the standards we produce. Within our role we also make time to gain bonds with the residents and their visitors, we meet and greet them in their rooms daily, supporting them with any cleaning tasks, laundry needs and general housekeeping. We ensure everything is labelled correctly, hung and sorted for each resident.


I enjoy taking time to get to know residents' routines and their personalities so I can support them on a person-centred approach.

My name is Pat and I'm the Head of Maintenance at Ashurst Mews.


Daily I look after the running of the maintenance side of the home, planning and carrying out scheduled tasks as necessary.


I have been doing maintenance for 25 years now but with Avery, I have been employed for 1 year. I always ensure any issues are always dealt with and make sure Ashurst Mews runs smoothly and safely for all who enter and live in the home.


I feel Ashurst Mews is a home that is running very well with very good communication and the atmosphere is always a pleasure to work in.
