From the first visit to secure mum a place, the support and assistance given to her has been excellent. The kindness shown by all staff is exceptional and I cannot thank them enough.

Mum moved into Pytchley Court on 22nd July and a huge weight was taken from my shoulders. Every single carer or staff member is so cheerful, professional yet personable, and incredibly helpful. Mum can be a little bit awkward but she is treated with kindness, respect and dignity. Having been a carer
myself I know just how demanding the job can be and I cannot fault this care home - the staff genuinely care. I am always informed of any changes in Mum; whether she's just off her food, or needs antibiotics. My dad and I joined Mum for Christmas Day and the food was seriously good. We have enjoyed quizzes, singers, musicians, exercises and they make a great cuppa. Both Dad and I, feel a huge sense of warmth and welcome when we enter Pytchley Court. Thank you, each and every one of you, for taking the time to make the last few years of my Mum's life so comfortable.

My mother has been a resident at Pytchley Court for over five years now and in that time, she has received exceptional care from the care staff and other members of staff.
You can tell by the way she smiles and interacts with them that she sees them as her family.
The staff are always very helpful
towards family members and visitors too - nothing is too much trouble.
It is comforting to know that she is so well looked after and we are extremely happy with her care.

As Christmas approached, the home was extremely busy preparing for festive activities. There was an atmosphere of excitement and joy. Activities involved residents, visitors, staff and local children. They enjoyed a themed winter wonderland party, with staff being dressed in Christmas outfits. There
were intergenerational activities. Father Christmas was central to some of the events. The home continues to provide a first-class service to residents with a wide range of differing conditions. The service extends to family and friends of residents. Staff are very caring and proactive in making residents feel loved and cared for. Up to date information is readily available regarding resident's health conditions, needs and wellbeing. This home provides an excellent service for all.

I visit my mother daily since she arrived in October 2023. Her care and support have been excellent! She is well fed and her room is always spotless. The staff are always friendly and helpful to both my mother and myself. The staff put on lots of activities throughout the week and family activities
on weekends. Extremely happy with the care home!

The home staff arranged birthday celebrations for my father's 105 year birthday. They also arranged reporters from local press and radio to interview us to celebrate a magnificent 105 year life. Staff at all levels were attentive and brought (nearly) all residents into the lounge to be entertained by
a duo of singers. They entertained beautifully. Arrangements were also made for a cake to be presented and distributed among all residents at evening meal time in the dining room. Many thanks to all the staff and management.

My dad has been a resident for four months. The admissions and settling process has been hallmarked by professionalism, efficiency and genuine care. The highly experienced manager sets clear priorities putting the resident's needs first. All the staff I have met are genuinely motivated and clearly empathise
with their 'extended family'. They clearly understand the importance of communication, engagement, stimulation and activity to help residents be as happy and comfortable as possible. Other homes may be structurally more modern and expensively appointed but 'A' is the quality of the personal care that is the single most important factor when selecting a home.

My grandmother spent nearly five years in this care home. The care she received was the best we could have wished for. We have been very very pleased with the care and compassion that the staff have given to our relative. We gave been able to go away and know they are in safe hands and will be looked after and be safe. We feel that the building is in need of some TLC including a new heating system and new windows and
the garden needs a complete makeover so the residents have somewhere to sit in the good weather and enjoy some fresh air.
Overall the care has been excellent and would like to thank the staff for all their hard work.

Mum received excellent care from day one when she was downstairs, until the day she died. The staff were all so loving with her and it was warming to see her reaction to them, even at the end she always had a smile for them. Thank you so much for looking after her so well for us.

It has become so much more challenging for staff working in care homes since covid and the carers, nurses and support staff at Pytchley Court Care Home worked incredibly hard just to get through an average day. And yet even so, my Dad's care has been great, especially the emotional support he has gotten
and staff's efforts to enable us to still see my dad and take him out. We are also grateful for the nursing staff's work with my dad trying to make him as comfortable as possible, with illnesses such as parkinsons and dementia, the answers are never clear cut and there is never a perfect outcome, only to do the best they could for him, which they did.
All staff tried so hard to make my dad's experience as lovely as possible and I know how challenging that must have been under the circumstances of lockdowns.
Carers, nurses, support staff and admin and management all made us feel so welcome and at ease, I couldn't have wished for better, more caring people to be around my dad.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“For me, kind care is taking the time to understand our Residents’ individual needs and cultures.”


As a Registered Nurse with 43 years' experience, Sue has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. Sue is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked in the care sector for many years, Sue closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. Sue extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


Sue also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Pytchley Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Sue remarked:


“There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the Residents with a smile on their faces. I love to see them happy.”


Outside of work, Sue enjoys gardening and regularly tending to her chickens at her home.
