A small home, Pytchley Court offers a more intimate environment than many residential settings. The team are able to get to know residents personally, ensuring they provide the care and support they need whilst also seeking different ways to ensure each day brings something to enjoy, whether it be engaging with the varied activities programme or settling down to enjoy a favourite film.

The home is purpose-built and has been recently refurbished, offering residents a modern yet homely feel where there are plenty of spaces to relax, dine and socialise, with everything designed for maximum comfort. There are not many words to describe our experience of Pytchley Court. But if pushed, phenomenal, springs to mind - excellent is another. The staff work tirelessly to ensure the welfare of the residents is upheld. The home is well run and organised with the staff from top to bottom superb. I personally
cannot fault it nor any of my family and would certainly recommend it to anyone without hesitation.

Lovely setting, residents appeared happy and well cared for. The staff were welcoming and had an excellent insight into the individual needs of the residents.
The resident I visited appeared happy, he looked very well, dressed and had a haircut. The staff were very aware of his likes and dislikes
and how to engage with him.

My mother was a resident at the home from 1/11/21 until her death on 23/03/22. I cannot praise the staff enough for the great care that my mother received. For the last three weeks, mum was on end of life care. During this time, the staff were amazing, both to my mum and in the care and support they
gave me and other members of mum's family. A wonderful team of people, so dedicated, caring and just 'lovely'. Thank to them all.

I just wanted to recognise the activities co-coordinator for the way she passionately cares so much and understands the residents' needs. The way she goes about her care is exemplary and really feel she should be recognised. I have been in other care homes and have never seen such a "caring family home"
this is clearly enhanced by the staff within it.

The most important thing about Pytchley Court Care Home is the evident care and love displayed by the staff, not just to my uncle but to me as well. Also, the material things are delivered as well. Pytchley is not a luxury home what they did was always to the best standard - food, rooms, activities,

Mum has been at Pytchley Court since October. She has improved in health and confidence now she has settled. All staff are kind, considerate and caring. Mum is treated with respect and provided with one to one care when required. I am kept informed of any health issues and her well-being. I am also

Right from the start I have found all the staff friendly, caring and supportive towards my Mum and us as her family, plus thank you to the manager. Mum's room was clean and bright with no underlying smells which was extremely welcoming. Mum is at the end of life care and the care home has treated us
with sensitivity and caring, enabling us to visit Mum at any time. The grounds are beautiful and kept tidy.

Through very harrowing times before with my wife's illness to find a care home with the staff so caring is such a relief. Now I know I don't need to worry as she is in a safe environment, and in the hands of very caring staff. I can't thank them enough. To send me photos of my wife getting involved,

My Aunt has been at Pytchley Court for over four years now. After major surgery at 89 years old, she moved into Pytchley Court unable to do anything. She has received excellent care throughout and is a testament to the care she been delivered by amazing consistent care of the staff. This includes the
laundry lady, handyman, care activity coordinator as well as nurses and carers. She had her 94th Birthday yesterday and with the ongoing care, will see 95!

Mum has been at Pytchley Court since January 2020. The last few months have been very difficult, not being able to visit Mum due to Covid-19, but both Dad and myself have had regular contact by phone. Mum struggles to hold a conversation over the phone now but she is encouraged to tell us what she has
been doing by the staff helping her. She seems happy, settled and still has her cheeky sense of humour. When we were able to visit pre-Lockdown, the staff were pleasant, attentive and always willing to answer questions, bearing in mind Mum was only there eight weeks before Lockdown started. So we were new to everything, but the staff couldn't have been more helpful and understanding. The home was clean and tidy and there was a fair bit of decorating going on. Mum moved into a newly decorated room which was bright and airy. The garden is very nice and I believe Mum was out there during the Summer. A huge thank you to all of the staff at Pytchley Court, you have all been amazing.

If you are reading this review wondering whether to choose this care home for your loved one and worried that due to the current pandemic you are unable to visit to see if it is suitable, worry no more! The staff are very caring and regularly keep me updated with my mum's care plan and any issues. The
situation at the moment is extremely stressful and sad due to not seeing my mum often but they send me videos and FaceTime. Well done to all of the staff!

Pytchley Court is a very organised care home and I am satisfied with the care my Mum receives. It would appear she is not happy about having to wait to be escorted to her room in the evenings, probably a busy time for staff? meals are varied and mostly tasty and portions satisfactory. The cleanliness
of the building is good.

Due to Covid19, I have obviously not been into the Home for at least 6 months, so most of my observations are dated. However, I must thank the entire staff, particularly the senior management and senior carers, for their passion and dedication during what is an extremely difficult period in all of our
lives.
Over the last 12 months, through better quality leadership in maintenance, there has been a great improvement in the quality of the decor both inside and out. However, the property is very tired and is in need of serious renovation. The heating system is an extremely old storage heater system that can cause the Home to be uncomfortably hot in summer and cold in winter at times. I understand that the bedrooms were all being refurbished but COVID has halted this.
I believe that my 102-year-old Mother is being well looked after at Pytchley due simply to a dedicated staff but to make me able to highly recommend the Home needs a serious refurbishment cash injection.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“For me, kind care is taking the time to understand our Residents’ individual needs and cultures.”


As a Registered Nurse with 43 years' experience, Sue has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. Sue is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked in the care sector for many years, Sue closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. Sue extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


Sue also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Pytchley Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Sue remarked:


“There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the Residents with a smile on their faces. I love to see them happy.”


Outside of work, Sue enjoys gardening and regularly tending to her chickens at her home.
