A small home, Pytchley Court offers a more intimate environment than many residential settings. The team are able to get to know residents personally, ensuring they provide the care and support they need whilst also seeking different ways to ensure each day brings something to enjoy, whether it be engaging with the varied activities programme or settling down to enjoy a favourite film.

The home is purpose-built and has been recently refurbished, offering residents a modern yet homely feel where there are plenty of spaces to relax, dine and socialise, with everything designed for maximum comfort. I would just like to say for the record that my mother was admitted to Pytchley Court towards the end of March 2020 and remained there until she passed away in June 2020. During her time at this home, she was treated with respect and cared for in the highest possible and professional manner. At first,
she made great progress from whence she arrived and this was no doubt due to the care, help and support from the staff within this home. She was made to feel at home by all members of the nursing team and management. Unfortunately, my mother took a turn for the worse probably caused by her Dementia and finally a stroke; the staffs were extremely attentive and informed us of her condition on a regular basis. I have no hesitation in recommending Pytchley Court Care Home or its staff who I cannot thank enough for all their care and commitment they showed my mother.

I just wish to express my sincere thanks and appreciation to all the staff at Pytchley Court who have shown both myself, my brother and sister such kindness and consideration whilst looking after both my Mum and Dad at Pytchley.
Firstly, my Mum and Dad have received the kindest care, support and
attention during their stay. We have spoken on the telephone for daily updates on the well being of our parents and have visited several times during the difficult COVID period, with an absolute attention to detail, being provided full PPE protection, whilst also demonstrating such a caring and considerate approach to our visits.
We are so impressed having dealt with a great many staff at different times of the day, we have found every member to be very friendly, professional and a pleasure to deal with, making it a lot easier for us during these difficult times.
We sadly lost our lovely mother recently and all the staff were absolutely wonderful.

I still haven't been inside Pytchley Court due to the Covid-19 virus, but today I have the great pleasure of seeing my mother and father through the dining room window. It was a very memorable moment for us all, not having seen them for nearly three months. They both looked happy, smiling, clean and
smart and the first words my mother said was "it's so lovely here, everyone is so lovely to us". That was music to my ears. Thank you to all the staff. My parents both seem settled now and all the staff have kept me well informed about their health and progress. I would personally like to thank each and every member of staff at Pytchley Court for all the hard work and dedication and the great care they have given to my parents at this very difficult time.

When we arrived there was entertainment on for the residents which was very enjoyable.

Both parents and one Uncle and one Aunt all at Pytchley Court. All seem happy and well cared for. They have all only been there for a few weeks and appear to have settled very well. My father has dementia and so far the staff seem to cope with him very well. Mum is not able to do much herself and does
not like to be a bother, but the staff do look after her and check on her regularly.

My 90-year-old brother moved from a previous care home to Pytchley Court on 6th February 2020 and I spent the whle of the following day with him. He seemed a little confused and I promised him I would be with him again on the Sunday. Unfortunately, I was taken ill but rang the home and explained how
anxious I was about my brother. I was assured that he would be well cared for and they would explain to him what had happened. Over a week later I was able to see him and he was so happy about everything. He liked his room, his television, the staff and the meals etc. I was so grateful for the way he had been treated and I have complete faith in Pytchley Court.

I've always found the care home clean and tidy. The residents all appear to be well cared for. There regularly seems to be entertainment for the residents which they seem to enjoy. Staff are friendly. Overall I am pleased with the standard of care at the home.

My dad receives the best possible care provided however there is a shortage of carers but this is by no means the home's fault. The staff are very caring and interact with my dad well and ensure he is comfortable. We are always kept up to date with Dad's care and can approach the manager with any problems
or questions we have. The manager does a fantastic job as do the other staff who are under immense pressure.

My daily visits have now come to an end as my partner passes on. Throughout her 13-odd weeks' residency, the staff not only helped her in every way but ensured by way of frequent discussions with the senior staff that I, also, coped with the situation. The staff are 'pushed' sometimes, but I'm left

Management and staff are very friendly and caring. My father had difficulty in settling in somewhere different than his own home. All the staff at Pytchley Court helped him overcome this. He has now settled down thanks to the patience of all the staff and their caring friendship.

My 98-year-old gran has lived in Yorkshire all her life. However, due to increasing care needs, she needed to move into a residential care home and as the majority of her family now live in the Northampton area, she decided to move to Pytchley Court at the beginning of July 2019.
It was an enormous
change for her, as she had always lived independently until then. However, thanks to the professional, caring and friendly staff at the Pytchley Court, she has adapted and settled well.
It was lovely to visit with my daughter on Sunday (11th August) and sit with gran and other residents, as they enjoyed afternoon tea and cakes. The staff made us feel very welcome and even offered us a cup of tea and cakes too! Seeing my gran look so happy and chatting with another resident and staff was very heart-warming.
I'd like to say a massive thanks to the manager and the team for all of their support, help, understanding and advice in helping gran to settle; you are all doing a fantastic job. Thank you!

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“For me, kind care is taking the time to understand our Residents’ individual needs and cultures.”


As a Registered Nurse with 43 years' experience, Sue has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people, to enrich their lives. Sue is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.


Having worked in the care sector for many years, Sue closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. Sue extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


Sue also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Pytchley Court.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Sue remarked:


“There’s nothing more rewarding than seeing the Residents with a smile on their faces. I love to see them happy.”


Outside of work, Sue enjoys gardening and regularly tending to her chickens at her home.
