Thank you for the positive feedback regarding the Home and staff. I have noted your concern and value your comments regarding Residents going outside. We always encourage Residents to enjoy our lovely gardens and to relax under the shade of the gazebo. Next Spring when the weather warms up we aim to make more use of our minibus with visits to local parks and attractions.

Since July 2017 a new home manager has been in post who has been working with staff in order to promote the visibility of staff within the home, along with promoting communication between staff, residents and relatives with the relaunch of a monthly newsletter to inform them of changes taking place within the home.
The lounge and dining areas are scheduled to undergo full refresh works in the coming months in order to promote the resident’s experience and general wellbeing.
The garden area at the front of the home has had a number of flower pots and hanging baskets in place since early summer along with two seating areas that have new garden furniture. The seating area at the back of the home is fully accessible to residents, however, once the refresh works in the home are completed there are plans to extend this seating area and create an area with wheelchair accessible flower beds that will enable all residents to participate in gardening if they so wish.
We are also continually reviewing our mealtime experience and therefore encourage residents and visitors to the home to inform us of any issues with regards to food at the time so that we might be able to rectify this in a more timely manner.

Donna has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.
Having worked in the care sector for many years, Donna closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Donna remarked:
“My favourite thing about being a Home Manager is to make people feel happy and to smile each day and to feel valued. I like to care for people and give them a better quality of life, while helping them retain their independence.”
Donna says her proudest achievement as Home Manager has been:
“Being able to deliver excellent care and having an excellent team working with me.”
Outside of work, Donna enjoys spending time with her family and dog, going on holiday, going out for walks and being out in the open air.
