The manager has only been in place for a few weeks and has to reorganise the home. My sister is a long term resident and was self-funded initially, but now contributes to her payments from works pension fund and state pension. Local authority pay the rest. My sister is "special needs" from birth.


My

husband is also a resident and not very mobile due to a long term illness. The staff are very kind to him.

Since becoming a resident at The Beeches in December 2015, my father's health has improved dramatically. He has gained weight and although he still misses his "old home", he has benefitted tremendously from having company.


My father does have health issues, obviously, but the GP is always called

promptly she the need arises and this gives me peace of mind.


Overall, my father is looked after very well and I cannot thank the staff enough.

During the short time I have been here, the Beeches has become "home" to me. The staff are friendly, caring and attentive to me even though I am able bodied compared to some of the other residents.
The home is very clean, food is good. I have the opportunity to be by myself if I need to.

Our experience was outstanding. Every need was given to my mother above and beyond our expectations. My mother was always kept clean, looked pleasantly dressed and never had a bad word to say about management or staff.
Nothing seemed too much trouble, even when my mother had to be hoisted out of a
chair into a wheelchair to be able to go outside for a cigarette, or a walk to the local shops etc. We were always met with a smile from whoever opened the door, kept up to date with every aspect (eating, drinking, medications etc). When my mother was nearing the end of her life we were able to stay overnight and be with her. Thank you all.

Although mum's stay was short she was very quickly made to feel at home at The Beeches. The staff showed great kindness to her as she settled into her new environment. At the time of her death and following it they also took the time to care for us as a family. Thanks to everyone involved in any aspect

After experience with several nursing homes when my elderly parents needed care I was somewhat worried when my husband needed care. I need not have worried as the level of care, kindness and dignity shown to all the residents is second to none and has restored my faith in care homes.
I go frequently
into The Beeches and I feel that everyone from the manager, the administrator and all the staff have become our friends. We are shown friendliness, always made to feel as though we matter and I have observed these traits carried through to all the residents. I have particularly impressed with the cleanliness and freshness of the home. I have also observed the high standard and choice of the food served in hotel conditions. Well done everyone!!

My dad has been cared for at The Beeches since October 2015 and the service and care provision are excellent. The staff and management are all lovely, caring people and treat the residents like family. This creates a comfortable, pleasant and welcoming atmosphere which you feel as soon as you walk through
the door.
My dad has Alzheimer's and finding people who care and understand is not easy but we know that he is happy at The Beeches. They are also very kind to relatives of residents and extend a warm welcome to everyone.

Our relative had a terminal illness and was treated very well. She died early am (7.30 ish) and one of the carers was with her when she died and held her hand (superb). We visited regularly and the staff were always pleasant and helpful.

Manager very welcoming and understanding, helpful with any problems or concerns, she installs confidence in care of your relative. Carers are very friendly, welcoming and go to great lengths to make a relative comfortable and attend to their needs physically and mentally (e.g to cheer them up when they
are feeling tearful and relatives too) all the staff cleaners, cooks provide and contribute to a lovely clean home and enjoyable food.

My mother has been at The Beeches for nearly three years and I am extremely satisfied with the care she gets from everyone there. All the staff are so kind and helpful, the carers are wonderful and the kitchen staff, office staff and cleaners are so kind. I have peace of mind knowing that my mother
is well looked after by everyone there and that her food, medication and everything else is given to her with every care. I am satisfied that I definitely chose the right home for her.

I cannot praise too highly the care and attention received by my wife in this care home. A doctor is called when it is thought necessary. Personal attention for chiropody and hairdressing are a regular provision. The rooms and corridors are bright and nicely appointed and clean. All staff are patient,
cheerful and attentive.

My husband is in remission from prostate cancer, he has mobility problems and memory loss. He is now 85 years and I have been his carer for over ten years. I am 80 years old and recently required respite help for him. We were lucky enough to find that this was available at The Beeches which is very
near to our home. My husband spent a week there in October and loved it. He is now attending two days each week and it has definitely become a life changing experience for both of us. All the staff from the manager and everyone else have shown kindness and consideration to us and all my husbands needs have been addressed in ways that have exceeded my expectations.

My mother now aged 97 had been at The Beeches Arnold Nottingham for over 3 ½ years. Prior to that she had lived independently until having a stroke and several falls. Since being in this care home she has put on weight, eats, sleeps well, enjoys company, stimulating and various activities, music, movement/dance.
Visits her local church and torch trust for the blind. Both manager, deputy and all the staff including cook, handyman are friendly, helpful and go to considerable lengths to care for and love my quite demanding mum, highly recommended.

My Aunt was in this care home from April till August for end of life care. The staff are marvelous, and take as much care with relatives of the residents as the residents themselves. Up until 3 weeks before my Aunt died she really enjoyed being at the Beeches, for the company and all the care that was
shown to her. She enjoyed having her hair done and mixing with the other residents. Also when the local school children did shows, she enjoyed that too. I can't thank the staff at Beeches enough for making my Aunt's last months pleasurable and comfortable to the end.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?


“For me, kindness means treating everyone with respect and treating everyone as an individual, being a great listener and helping people to make their own choices and not to judge people.”


Donna has gained a wealth of experience in providing care and nursing support to elderly people to enrich their lives. She is a knowledgeable and dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for residents.


Having worked in the care sector for many years, Donna closely shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.


When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Donna remarked:


“My favourite thing about being a Home Manager is to make people feel happy and to smile each day and to feel valued. I like to care for people and give them a better quality of life, while helping them retain their independence.”


Donna says her proudest achievement as Home Manager has been:


“Being able to deliver excellent care and having an excellent team working with me.”


Outside of work, Donna enjoys spending time with her family and dog, going on holiday, going out for walks and being out in the open air.
