Broadgate Nursing Home is skilled in a wide range of nursing and care requirements, located in scenic surroundings and a centre of excellence for dementia care.

The home has recently been refurbished to incorporate modern and innovative techniques, while being organised with homeliness, comfort and dignity in mind. Extensions mean the home now has 41 single en-suite rooms, four lounge and dining rooms with comfortable character, a dedicated hair salon and sun lounge with shop and bar area, and a safe and enclosed garden area.

The interior is designed to suit the needs of clients, helping them to remain independent and even incorporating themes and decorations to suit the mental health challenges each client faces, for which staff are trained by specialists in best practice.

Loving refurbishment means the home will now have a forty-one room capacity.

Overall, Broadgate is a good, caring, care home, run by careful, committed staff, who are well-led by the management. The dark wood of the corridors can make it ab it heavy, but each resident's spacious bedroom (with ensuite toilet), is kept very clean. A cleaner is employed specifically to clean at
all times. Any spills are dealt with immediately. Food is good, varied and presented temptingly and the dining hall is a cheerful, sunny environment. There are plenty of staff, though, at lunchtime, they are very busy. Residents are kept safe and quite carefully supervised. Staff are kind and toilet needs are treated with dignity. The home has begun to branch out and increase singers/musicians, to broaden residents' horizons.

The nursing home and resident rooms were always very clean. The security was good and the staff were always helpful offering to escort you and offered a choice of the lift or stairs. The staff are amazing. Always welcoming, friendly, approachable and very helpful and supportive. I sat with a resident
as he passed away and the staff were there for us but gave us privacy. Truly grateful to all of them.

My mother's care has been first-class. All her needs have been catered for. Always clean. Never had an odour of a person that is double incontinent. All the staff have been friendly and approachable.

Our family has found the staff to be thoughtful, effective and professional in their approach to dad's care. Within hours of dad's arrival his nurse had made great efforts to not only perform the necessary checks and gather information on dad's needs but had made a connection with dad too. This instant
building of an effective relationship with him is very important to us all. Communication has been excellent ensuring we are continuing to be involved in his care. It feels like home from home.

Although I am described as next of kin, I am actually a professional who has been involved with a person now residing at Broadgate. As this person has no relatives and I had supported them in their own flat for over 10 years I am treated by the home as a de facto next of kin. When this person developed
dementia we chose Broadgate because it was in a familiar local area. I was aware of the unfavourable reviews but went in with an open mind. Despite the difficult Covid environment, the staff went out of their way to make our first visit a joy. When they became a resident, Broadgate went above and beyond to provide a brilliant service. This resident had many additional needs and at every opportunity, the staff have worked hard to draw in additional resources whenever needed, to respond to changing circumstances. Additionally, the staff have always included me in any decisions. I cannot recommend Broadgate enough.

My mum has been a resident at Broadgate since March 2021. Whilst her entry (during covid) was very difficult both for her and the family we feel that the extremely caring staff have gone above and beyond to help her settle. Unfortunately, my mum is still a little unsettled, however, due to the expertise
and care given to her (and us) since then, her family feel that the situation will keep on improving. We have nothing but praise and admiration for all the staff at Broadgate and fully recommend it to anyone I know is in need. A big heartfelt thank you them them all.

This is the third care home that my dad has been in. Luckily the first two were only temporary, but I wasn’t looking forward to choosing somewhere on a permanent basis because of what I had previously not only seen, but what I have heard has happened in care homes. Our first choice was Broadgate, based
on the website, the location and on what reviews I could find. However, since he has been there, I have never, ever had any cause for concern. Since day one, the staff has been fantastic. They keep us regularly informed of my father's health and well being. My dad's personal growth has also been unbelievable. He has gained weight, he no longer looks in the pain he was in, in hospital. He always looks clean, fed and happy and for his family that is priceless. My family will forever be grateful to the staff at Broadgate Care Home. I have never felt it is ‘just a job’ to anybody. I see that they genuinely care about my dad. Thank you to everyone at Broadgate. You are all just so special.

My mother has been having regular periods of respite care at Broadgate since July 2021. We have been very happy with the care and support that she has received over that period. The staff and management are extremely kind, friendly and caring. The home is safe, caring, responsive and well-fed by the
manager who is very helpful. My mum is happy here and we'll be using this again.

Another lovely visit with our mum, it's always a pleasure to visit not just our mum but the staff too. This is like home from home the residents here are treated like family by all the staff, Mum has always been content the staff have always kept us informed of any changes which bring comfort and confidence
to everyone that Mum is being cared for with dignity in every way.
We are so pleased we chose Broadgate for Mum and would not hesitate to recommend to others, we can't thank the staff enough they do a fantastic job which is not easy and is not without challenges, yet every aspect of care and social interaction that you would want for your loved ones are met to a high standard.

My 94-year-old mother entered Broadgate House Nursing Home after a spell in hospital so that her health care needs could be assessed. After years of trying to manage her complex needs myself with the occasional help of paid carers in her warden aided flat, I was delighted to discover that a haven like
this existed!! The management is approachable, friendly, empathetic, supportive and efficient, whilst the duty nurse, along with her nursing colleagues, have done everything possible to understand my mother's medical and clinical needs. I cannot sing their praises enough- suffice it to say that I would recommend Broadgate House unconditionally! And it is unbelievable value compared to other nursing home establishments we have considered!
My mother is now sadly bedbound, sleeping much of the time, but I am happy to know that she is in a cosy room, cared for by cheerful, kind individuals who try to make her waking moments lively and stimulating.

I am very happy and cannot praise the home and the staff highly enough. They have made the transition into the home for both myself and my mum fantastic. The links with the external caregiving teams, such as the mental health team, have been so quick and efficient with Mum's emotional and physical wellbeing
at the heart of it all. The speed and quality we have received throughout, of care so far, has been remarkable.

There have been a few issues at Broadgate with my father getting out, but myself and the rest of my family hope that matter has been resolved. I cannot fault the staff and the care my father gets. I would like to see the bedrooms get a bit of decoration ie paint the walls. I am also hoping that with
the change of management everything will improve given time.
