Surrounded by serene countryside to the north-east of Nottingham, Edingley Lodge is set amongst picturesque villages, on one and a half acres of grounds. The home offers residential care. With a large orangery opening out onto this rural beauty, and the blooms of the flowerbeds and greenhouse, peace and quiet are never far away. It's also just a short ride on the courtesy vehicle to the shops, pubs and churches of nearby Farnsfield.

The home has 34 rooms, all of which are en-suite. There are three, open communal lounges, one private lounge and a well-appointed dining room, all tastefully decorated to the highest standards - so you can be proud to call Edingley Lodge your home.

Chefs prepare a daily menu of tasty, nutritional meals which may be taken in the communal dining room or in bedrooms as preferred. Special dietary requirements can be accommodated.

A dedicated activities coordinator plans daily events in the home, as well as regular excursions beyond it. Residents and their families are encouraged to participate in the planning process to make sure everyone's needs and wants are being met.

Overall experience good. Disappointed at lack of physiotherapy when we viewed were assured they would give that service ie. assist with walking but that didn't happen. Need more experienced staff.

I had a lovely stay at Barchester Edingley Lodge Care Home (respite care, two weeks). All staff were friendly and hands-on, day or night, and nothing was too much trouble for them. Housekeeping was excellent and rooms were kept spotless. My laundry was washed just as I liked it. Food was good and dining
three times a day I enjoyed. Enjoyable activities daily too. I would recommend Edingly Lodge and give it ten out of ten.

It was a good experience for me as I felt total confidence with the care being offered for my mum's ten night stay and I could leave her in safe hands. All the staff are caring and paid attention to my mums needs, she was able to be quiet when she wanted to be. The food and company was also something
that she enjoyed immensely as there were not many residents. It did have a feel of home about the place. It was the first time we had tried away from home and we will certainly do it again - thank you to all.

I was very impressed with Barchester Edingley Lodge Care Home. The staff were very friendly. My only concern was that residents including Mum were kept waiting for quite a while to use the toilet. She said she didn't get a daily shower.
I couldn't say anything negative about anything else.

The staff at Edingley are all lovely and very caring. They were always in touch with updates and upcoming events. The care home and its facilities are like a 5-star hotel, and the food and cakes looked amazing. I would definitely recommend this home.

My mum has had two recent four-week stays during which I visited frequently and thought the staff there very welcoming and highly competent. Mum's room was bright and pleasant, and the food appetizing, in a building with modern, upbeat decor in peaceful surroundings. I was very pleased indeed.

Mum was a resident before the refurbishment and couldn't wait to come back, not so much for the beautiful and new well-appointed rooms but because she has never felt so well looked after and cared for. The staff are always friendly, truly caring and genuinely respect all the residents.
Mum's medical
needs are getting a bit more and the care home staff manage this with real professionalism. In short, we couldn't ask for more.

Edingley Lodge Care Home is amazing, more like a hotel than a care home. The staff have always got time for the guests to talk to or just sit with if they need a bit of company. Everything about Edingley Lodge is top of the league; decor, care, food and activities. There is also a beautiful patio/balcony
with views over the fields and to have afternoon tea under the sun shades. It's always a pleasure to walk into when I visit my friend before his game of dominoes. Many thanks to all the staff.

My Mother was very well cared for during her stay (April to September 2021). She had quite complex medical conditions including type 1 diabetes and the staff worked together with the chef and her dietary and medical needs were managed well and the food was always well-presented and appetising.
I
visited regularly and the staff was always polite and attentive and did their best to make me feel welcome. They have a very difficult and challenging job especially during recent times but were always pleasant and caring. My mother wasn’t always the easiest of people to care for and they were patient and approachable and she was always treated with both dignity and respect.
I specifically appreciated how the general manager was always open, honest, professional and approachable. The end of life care my Mother received was the best I could have hoped for, the sensitivity and empathy from all at Edingley Lodge were amazing – thank you all!

Very pleased with everything. Only criticism there was no shower in the room, it really would of put the cherry on the cake but all in all a wonderful respite stay and wouldn't hesitate to come back.

Mum was booked in for two weeks respite care. (1) Room was mucky, (2) staff surly, (3) Mum was left down at the pod 40mins without a reason for her being there.
The huge issue to do with communication, health and safety issue, understaffed and light going off which was very frightening. No suitable
food available. Mum was losing weight, very depressed and very tearful. We spoke at length to care home manager but she was very dismissive even when Mum was overdosed on Oramorph. Not happy. Awful place.

Hi, my name is Jilu Stephen and I am the General Manager at Edingley Lodge Care Home! I am a nurse by profession and completed my nursing studies in India. I moved to the UK in 2010. Since then, I have worked in the health and social care setting. I started my career in the UK as a health care assistant and I joined the Nursing and Midwifery Council. I have also worked as a registered nurse in a number of nursing and care homes. I have experience in supporting and assisting residents with many complex mental health needs. I am very passionate and honest towards my role.


I joined Barchester in 2019 as a bank nurse and worked as Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead for a year. I am now at Edingley Lodge as General Manager, responsible for running this beautiful home.

Job Title: Deputy Manager

Hello, my name is Jo, I joined Edingley Lodge in March 2023. I began my career in care in 2007 in a care home as a carer which I really enjoyed making a difference to the residents that lived in care homes.


I then was given the opportunity to be enrolled in courses to complete my Level 2 & Level 3 in Health and Social care and progressing to senior care within the care setting. I then became Team Leader / Head of Care / Deputy Manager - which then gave me the opportunity to learn the management side of a care home.


I have completed my Level 5 in Health and Social care management. My role within Edingley Lodge is Deputy Manager and I’m looking forward to supporting the residents within Edingley Lodge to live a fulfilled life within the home.

I joined Barchester in 2016 and have previously worked at our sister home, Hall Park as their Home Administrator prior to progressing my career here at the home. I look forward to meeting you when you visit the home.
My role goes beyond just showing residents and loved ones around care homes; I actively engage in networking within the community to identify valuable opportunities that can enrich the lives of our residents. Linda is the Admin backbone of Edingley Lodge, She has got several years of experience in working as Admin. She joined Barchester in 2023.


She is responsible for ensuring all contracts are in place for the people we support and all the staff too. She is in charge of invoicing, payroll, purchases and takes great care of our numbers game in the home.


Linda has an open door policy and is most happy to speak with families, residents and staff that need support in the day. Linda is incredibly organised and a real team player and will always help out whenever she can.
