This is an example of what all care homes should be like. All the staff were amazing, both to residents and visitors. The standard of care that my grandpa received was outstanding. He was treated with such kindness and dignity at the end of his life and me and my family could not have asked for more. All of the staff were amazing and I would like to thank them all for their kindness.

Further to my review in September I felt compelled to write again about the care my dad received at Lawn Park. Dad was at the end of life care. The care from every member of staff gave him dignity and respect up to his final hours. The staff not only cared for my dad they cared for me and my family
as we sat with him, especially in his last two days. Lawn Park is a family of staff and residents. It has been my privilege to be a small part of that family.

My father-in-law spent the last six weeks of his life as a resident at Lawn Park. It was a very successful move for him to receive end-of-life care in this environment. The staff were unfailingly supportive, caring and professional in all their duties. He was content to be there and appreciated the
attractive surroundings. When his final days came, every care was taken to keep him comfortable and allow him to end his days in peace. My wife and I are very grateful that this was made possible.

All the staff were very caring and compassionate towards my father's needs through the last year of his life. We were always kept informed of any changes in his condition. The staff were empathetic and supportive to us at all times during his stay. I can't thank them enough for their kindness.

My mum has been in the care home for some months now and the level of care and attention has been exceptional but most of all, I was most impressed by a recent visit where I went to her room, only to hear voices behind the door and suspecting it was not appropriate to enter, I stood behind the door
and waited. Unbeknown to me, the young carer was feeding my mum her lunch and so it took me a while to realise this. Listening to their ongoing conversation, I was hugely impressed by the way she addressed my mum; there was genuine warmth, care, sensitivity and above all, dignity in her voice. I was so impressed that I even took a moment to express this in a recent care review, which they were most pleased to hear.

My dad was made welcome at Lawn Park. The staff are very caring - small details, staff attaching children's pictures to Dad's wardrobe so he can see them mean a great deal.
On the day of the Queen's funeral, staff dressed residents in their "best clothes", curled the women's hair and the kitchen staff
prepared bagels in lovely dishes. The residents were offered a choice of wine, beer and fruit drinks. In the sitting room, fresh fruit, biscuits, and a fruit drink are always available. Fresh flowers are in the sitting room and entrance hall. The home is spotlessly clean.

My father was a resident and Lawn Park from 27th of September 2021 - 1st of September 2022. during his time he was treated with kindness and with dignity. During the last few weeks of his life the staff were very compassionate remaining with him when I was not visiting. When he died the staff were with
him. They were very attentive to his needs and ensured he was comfortable. The staff were also attentive to me which made a difficult time easier to bear.

We can't recommend Lawn Park Care Home enough since being there only six weeks my father has thrived from day one he was given first class treatment, attention, made to feel loved and met a wonderful strange who became good friends. My father is well respected, cared for and always looks immaculately
dressed. The staff are highly trained, hard working and the dedication they have shown to myself, my husband and father it is a credit to the manager of the home who leads her staff. Who give over 100% to look after their residents, we can't praise this care home enough. Thank you.

My wife spent two and a half years at Lawn Park Care Home at which time her room was spotless, her care was 100% and the food was perfect. I was always made welcome and it was like home to me. The management and staff were excellent and always there to help in whichever way possible, also they were

My aunt came into Lawn park in June-July 2019. Whilst she was here as a resident she had no complaints about the staff. For the last 2 years, she enjoyed her time here. It is a really hard decision to put a family member in the hands of someone else when they are vulnerable, especially when you have the guilt of needing a break. This was something we have done for a few years as our mum needed time to for herself, after constantly putting dad first. We did this through
weekly breaks at care homes. After using one, that Dad wasn't happy in, someone recommeded we try here and I am so glad we did! Lawn Park is amazing, from the building, accomadation and staff. It is clean and welcoming, spacious rooms and beautiful location.
Although my dad was a former resident they were still in contact before his visit to prepare for any changes that may be needed now. They make sure all his needs are met in a friendly welcoming manner, and also support us through reassurance, information and encouraging regular contact with my dad, even if we couldn't get there one day. We are a million % happy. Which gives us peace of mind, as we know dad is happy and safe.

My brother is very happy and feels safe. He is very well looked after and couldn't wish for more. Every time I have visited the staff are very friendly and caring. They always phone me to tell me how he is and if he has had the doctor or any procedure. I have no complaints at all. I think all the staff

From the first conversation with the care manager and interactions with the staff, I felt confident and reassured my mum was under a high standard of care. Medical and activities of daily living catered for. The commitment of care was deserved and understanding the residents individual requirements

Rosalind

Rosalind Kennedy-Brown

Job Title: Home Manager at Lawn Park Care Home, Sutton in Ashfield

Rosalind has been at Lawn Park for three decades and still looks forward to going to work every day. She has been passionate about caring for the elderly from a young age and was confident that it was the perfect career path for her.


Before becoming Home Manager, she completed her nursing training and then became a clinical lead for a while before progressing to Deputy Manager. Rosalind is very proud of herself and her team for consistently achieving a ‘Good’ rating for CQC and a ‘Band Five’ for Quality Banding.


Outside of work, Rosalind loves socialising, gardening and walking her two beautiful dogs; she previously accomplished climbing Croagh Patrick Mountain in West Ireland.


Words of encouragement from Rosalind for someone looking for the right care home would be: “I would recommend that you look around a few homes, look at their CQC report and choose the home that you felt the most comfortable visiting.”
