Red Rose Care Community is a truly charming, home-from-home purpose-built Care Home located in Farndon, which is South-West of the historic market town of Newark on Trent, Nottinghamshire. Red Rose employs a dedicated team who are experienced in many forms of provision, which include long-term residential care, short and long-term respite, dementia care and palliative care.

As part of the Red Homes family, Red Rose embodies its founders’ ethos of delivering exceptional, personalised, quality care to their residents and support to their families. The consistency of care is led by the manager Diane Watson, Deputy Karen Borland and the Heads of Department who all work closely with the local surgery, and community teams to provide this care and support.

Staff are well-qualified and experienced in the challenges of mental health, adhering to care packages that suit each individual user, with needs fully assessed prior to admission. The home offers inclusive, purposeful, and exciting lifestyle and activity choices including music, dancing, gardening and crafts. The activities co-ordinator creates a rich timetable for the week, whilst the cook prepares nutritious meals and snacks, tailored to individual residents' dietary requirements.

Red Rose is a nice clean and tidy care home. Staff are very friendly and polite. They keep Dad cleanly dressed and tidy. Did have a few issues with his shaving but has been solved now. Food seems to be improving with a choice on the menu. They are now sourcing local produce which is great!

I think Red Rose Care Community is an ideal memory unit for dementia patients. The staff are very caring and kind and also very professional with looking after my husband. I would highly recommend Red Rose Care Community.

Red Rose is the best dementia choice of placement for my wife as far as I am concerned and the new management is immediately responsive. I am the chairman of a Dementia Carers Group.

Joanne Brown

Job Title: General Manager

Joined: 2024

Joanne started at Red Roofs Care Home, Newark in 2011 as a carer. Since then, her dedication and passion have seen her continually take on more responsibility becoming Deputy Manager at Red Roofs in 2016 and she has now moved to become the Home Manager at Red Rose Care Community in Farndon.


With a passion for learning and helping people, Joanne is a calming influence and offers strong leadership to support both residents and staff in bringing the best out in our community. You will often find her talking to residents to find new ways to help with different activities, extra facilities or events. For Joanne, it is important that every person gets the very best care.
