My husband spent 6 weeks in hospital after a mini-stroke and collapsed at home. He fell many times despite constant surveillance and never ate a meal there. He hated it. He was given respite care allocation by an authoritative body but the home was totally unsuitable. He fell many times would not eat
and was very unhappy, wanting to die rather than stay there. As soon as he arrived at The Royal, he loved it, nice room with a view, lovely staff, great food and a caring atmosphere. he fell almost every day because his knees hive way and he gets giddy, but after one-to-one care, four weeks have passed without any falls. When he was at home before his collapse, I was with him all the time, although he could walk and stand, but now I could not cope by myself and we have no children or family to rely on. The Royal has made both of us much happier and it is without doubt the best care home I have known and I have seen quite a few over the years! Many thanks to everyone at The Royal. We love you all.

Although extremely busy, staff were caring, friendly and always treated our mum with dignity and respect. Any concerns that we raised were dealt with quicky and effectively. Family and friends that visited were always made to feel welcomed. The onsite hairdressers and activities program are fully inclusive.
We also enjoyed attending the resident and community coffee morning held on a Thursday.

The staff at The Royal Care Home looked after my grandad with such respect and dignity. My grandad's needs were always met. He really enjoyed his time there. cannot thank the staff enough for what they did for my grandad.

I think it’s generally ok, but sometimes the staff seem a little too busy and overworked. Everyone seems friendly and polite. Not too happy about patients wandering in and out of my mum's room. However, I realise it’s hard to stop this.

The Royal is an excellent home. From hairdressing to entertainment. Meals are also excellent. Staff very caring. Couldn’t ask for anything better for my mother. I would definitely recommend this care home.

My father was a resident at The Royal for about 2 years until he passed away on 07/10/2023. During my visits he would always comment on how well the staff looked after him. I was impressed that staff upon my arrival would ask if I wanted to see my father in his room or day lounge or indeed the cabin
out in the garden. The cabin was my favourite place to spend time with my father. Any queries I raised were always answered promptly. My father enjoyed his time at The Royal and the staff must take full credit for that.
Following my father's death I was contacted immediately by a staff member and I can only thank the staff who greatly assisted in his transfer to the funeral company's chapel of rest. The Royal is professionally operated by very competent staff and I cannot thank them enough for the care of my father in his final years.

This care home is run to a high standard and has all the facilities needed to provide excellent care. The staff are extremely caring and the residents always look happy. There is a great activities program and all the residents are included in this no matter of any disability or health issues they may
have.
The home is always clean and I always feel welcome when visiting.
I would have every confidence in the staff and manager of The Royal should I need a care facility for members of my own family.

My mother is a resident at this home since February and I only have praise for the home. They are very welcoming and accommodating. My mother has very challenging behaviour at times and a lot of care needs due to her Alzheimer’s and the staff go above and beyond to meet all her needs. All are very friendly
and caring to her and the family. They are also very good with my father who has found my mother needing to be in care very difficult. The home has a lovely garden for residents and family to use. There are always activities and events going on. My mother also likes to get her hair and nails done at their salon.

My Grandma has been a resident in this care home now for 8 years, we cannot fault the staff. They go above and beyond and have a real care and passion for what they do. They listen to residents and family members on their residents needs. My grandma before having dementia always had her hair and nails
done perfectly and they ensured this was maintained where possible. It’s the attention to detail which is key and the staff here are amazing at what they do. I would recommend The Royal to everyone.

Couldn’t thank the Royal care home enough. My husband's grandad was in for a short time and I absolutely loved hearing his stories about what he had been up to. My mum is currently a resident at the Royal and we are so pleased with the care she is receiving. The staff are so caring to my mum, even though she does sometimes have a temper, due to Alzheimer’s. They are also so warm and welcoming to us. The home put on some great activities for the residents and
we love seeing my mum taking part in these on the updates on Facebook. I would definitely recommend the Royal and its amazing staff.

My father had a very short stay at the Royal and sadly he passed away on the 12th April 2022. I just wanted to say how impressed we were as a family with the care, respect, and dignity my father received in his final days. I would like to say thank you on behalf of our family for the kindness, care,

Slightly lower ratings due to some issues regarding communication, however, we are aware that the pandemic may have attributed to some of this. The staff appeared to be very caring and acted upon concerns when they were raised, also recognising when medical help was needed and contacting the doctors.
My brother appeared to be very fond of the staff who took the time to understand his sense of humour.

My mother was cared for at The Royal care home between November 2019 and November 2021. Throughout this long period, I was impressed by the dedication shown by all members of staff involved in looking after her. This ranges from the cooks, cleaning staff, carers, and nursing staff, to managers and the
activities coordinator. Unfortunately, during this period, the care home had to follow national guidelines regarding the covid-19 pandemic. The staff adapted and continued in their caring roles and importantly, enabled contact with Mum to continue (although restricted) due to her circumstances. I believe that my mum's generally positive state of mind and health, during much of this time, was due to the caring attitude of the staff who looked after her, as well as the nursing care she received. For this reason, I will always be grateful and would recommend the Royal as a place for quality care.

With bad dementia, the gentleman was treated with dignity and was able to communicate with the staff in a restricted way. But he was happy and settled, enjoying his meals and living the life he was able to, during the pandemic, which he did not understand at all.

My dad went into the Royal in March 2021. From that day until Saturday, February 2022 the staff have been fantastic. He was cared for with dignity, love and kindness which my family will never forget. Dad loved having a joke with the staff, who always were approachable and caring towards the family.
Me and my sisters can't praise all the staff enough. Thanks for all the kindness, care and compassion you showed to my dad and us at the end of his life. Thanks to you all.

My mother was admitted to the Royal care home as she required end-of-life care. We found the staff were very friendly, approachable, and caring both towards my mum and to her family. The Royal is a clean, comfortable place, they provide some activities (around covid restrictions). Mum enjoyed having
her hair and nails done regularly. I can't praise the staff highly enough for their understanding, care, and compassion. Thank you to all.

My mother has been a resident here for 8-years. The care that she has received, in this time, is outstanding. The staff are amazing with the care they provide, despite my Mum being difficult to deal with due to dementia. The food is very good and is freshly cooked on a daily basis. Residents have secure
