My father was admitted into care in October 2015, and was looked after with tenderness and care. The last week or so of his life he required a lot of nursing input which was carried out in a sympathetic and caring manner. All in all he could not have received better care and I will for ever be grateful
to the wonderful caring staff of Stoneyford Christian Care Home. They were marvellous!! I know people do make complaints about care homes but i cannot fault Stoneyford or its staff.

I was amazed and so thrilled when I came here. Nothing is too much trouble. If I needed anything at all I just have to ask for it. Even down to the smallest pack of salt, I only have to ask. The wonderful staff have put themselves our to get it for me. Thank you Stroneyford. I needed comfortable seating
and it was sorted out for me. My Christian side was also needing some help and Stoneyford were so helpful there. I can only reiterate thank you Stoneyford thank you.

My mum has been in the care home since the end of August. Staff are polite and helpful. 1) I would like my mums hair cut etc.
2) Sometimes she looks in need of a drink/liquid looked very dry. I have mentioned this
3) She seems clean and well managed which is appreciated in difficult circumstances.

My aunt doesn't always want to be in a nursing home but always describes the care here as very good. She likes her room and says she enjoys the food. I think the staff are very good, caring and welcoming to visitors. I recently had an issue which was dealt with very well buy the manager. I am confident
that she is well cared for. My only suggestions would be that in time all rooms should be en suite and that attention to detail could be improved e.g. making sure up to date menus are on the table and the clocks altered after the clocks go back on the day it happened. Feel this would improve the orientation of residents. Thanks for all your help.

Current Review Score: 9.1 (9.062)

Overview of Review Score

The Review Score of 9.1 (9.062) out of 10 for Stoneyford Care Home is based on a) the Average Rating and b) the number of positive Reviews.

  • a) The Average Rating is 4.8 out of 5 from 7 Reviews in the last 24 months.

  • b) The score for the number of positive Reviews is 4.3 out of 5 from 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months.

Detailed Breakdown of Review Score

The maximum Review Score for a Care Home is 10, which is made up from the Average Rating of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) and the Number of Reviews (maximum of 5 points) in the last 24 months:

  • a) 5 Points are available for the Average Rating from all Reviews in the last 24 months.

    The Average Rating of 4.759 for Stoneyford Care Home is calculated as follows: ( (66 Excellents x 5) + (14 Goods x 4) + (3 Satisfactorys x 3) ) ÷ 83 Ratings = 4.759

  • b) 5 Points are available for the number of Positive Reviews in the last 24 months. A Positive Review is defined as any Review with an 'Overall Experience' of '4' or '5' (out of a max rating '5').

The 4.303 Points relating to the number of positive Reviews for Stoneyford Care Home is based on 7 positive Reviews in the last 24 months and is calculated as per below:

The 5 points available are broken down as follows:

    • i) 4 points are available for the first 10 Positive Reviews in the last 24 months; 3 points for the first Positive Review, and then 0.125 Points for each of the next four Positive Reviews and then 0.1 Points for the next five Positive Reviews. (1st = 3.000, 2nd = 0.125, 3rd = 0.125, 4th = 0.125, 5th = 0.125, 6th = 0.100, 7th = 0.100, 8th = 0.100, 9th = 0.100, 10th = 0.100) 3 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.125 + 0.1 + 0.1 = 3.7

    • ii) 1 point is available for the number of Positive Reviews reaching 20% of the registered maximum number of service users in the last 24 months. If this number is partially reached, then that proportion of 1 point is given. eg a Care Home registered for a maximum of 50 service users has to reach 10 Positive Reviews to receive 1 point, if it has 7 reviews it will receive 0.7 points. 20% of the 58 registered maximum number of service users is 11.6. 7 Positive Reviews ÷ 11.6 = 0.603

  • When a Review is submitted by someone who has previously submitted a Review, only the latest Review will count towards the Review Score.

  • If a Care Home does not have a review in the last 24 months, then it will not have a Review Score.

Rugma Mohan

Job Title: Home Manager

My name is Rugma, and I am delighted to introduce myself as the new Manager of Stoneyford Care Home, now proudly part of Serene Care.

I bring over nine years of experience in health and social care management, along with a strong academic background. I hold a master’s degree in business administration, a Bachelor's degree in IT, a Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management in Adult Care, and a Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. This diverse skill set has enabled me to effectively manage both the care and operational sides of the home, ensuring that we consistently deliver high-quality, person-centred care.

At Stoneyford, my main priority is to create a nurturing, supportive environment where residents feel safe, valued, and truly at home. I believe that exceptional care starts with a dedicated, well-trained team, and I am deeply committed to the professional growth and development of our staff. By fostering a positive, collaborative atmosphere, we can ensure that our residents receive the best possible care and our team feels inspired and empowered.

In the coming months, I will be focusing on enhancing the quality of care, streamlining operations, and creating a welcoming space for residents, families, and staff. I also envision Stoneyford becoming a vibrant community hub, where local residents and families can engage and benefit from our expertise in residential, dementia, and end-of-life care.

I believe in maintaining open communication and operate with an 'Open Door Policy.' If you'd like to learn more about Stoneyford or discuss how we can continue to improve, I would be more than happy to meet for an informal conversation. Together, we can make Stoneyford a place where everyone feels at home.
