Overall Experience

Mammar is looked after amazingly at Wren Hall Nursing Home.
Staff will constantly be giving her reassurance and support, throughout the day.
Mammar has become more sociable and engaging in numerous activities. She's made some special connections with staff and family members (residents) which puts

a smile on her face.
I can't thank team Wren for everything they have done.

Nanna has transformed since moving into Wren Hall. The staff are so loving and caring towards her, and she has renewed interest in her appearance and life in general. She was really depressed and lonely at home - but no more! Thank you, Wren Hall.

Overall Experience

My sister is really well cared for and happy at Wren Hall Nursing Home. The staff are welcoming and friendly and after living alone for over 20 years she really enjoys the company, tasty meals and all the help with personal care that she was beginning to find difficult to manage.
Our brother was previously

a resident at Wren years ago and after visiting him here she expressed the wish that if she ever needed to move into a care home this would be her choice.

Overall Experience

The staff at Wren Hall Nursing Home clearly care deeply about the residents of the care home, and as a relative, I never have any concerns that my father is well looked after and shown respect and affection, despite him having very challenging behaviour.
I would give 5 stars but feel that the communication

from the head office could be better. This is becoming less important as we are allowed back into the home (only very recently have restrictions eased) but during Covid was a source of constant frustration where we very much felt out of the loop.
That said, it was a comfort to know he was in safe hands during a time when we were unable to see/speak to him.

We have some admin staff who like myself were working covering care and nursing staff who were isolating having tested positive. We did not have spare staff to keep updating relatives so I added my personal mobile number to all correspondence and invited relatives to contact me at any time. I am sorry this did not work for you.

Overall Experience

Mum is settled here and in safe hands. The girls and guys are lovely and extremely kind and patient, which with Mum is a must.

Overall Experience

My husband is well looked after and loved. The staff is lovely and very welcoming. The food is very good and my husband likes the sweet shop. He is always clean and tidy. Would like to see our loved ones going out a bit more.

As you know Covid-19 took its toll on care homes and outings were not viewed as safe. We were taking our family members out in summer but as winter nears and Covid-19 rates increase we are reluctant to do this.
Our activities are far more than going out and we have an amazing garden where our tearoom, church, beach feature and chickens provide many hours of engagement. We are setting up one cabin as a pub and revamping our miniature golf feature. Our sunroom is being added too so it can be used as a sensory (Namaste) lounge with aromatherapy too. Inside we offer activities such as baking, card and board games, quizzes, crosswords, crafts, household activities, musical activities and so much more. If you wish for your loved one to participate in more activities, please liaise with our staff and we will happily facilitate this.

Overall Experience

In general, the care my grandmother has received has been excellent and the staff are excellent.
However, during Covid, the facilities haven’t been there and some of the visiting rooms and situations have not been great. At certain times common sense hasn’t been used and forward planning hasn’t been

very efficient.
But overall we are happy.

We offered visiting in our Christine Bates Centre, Sun lounge, Tearoom and Pond Room, as well as in individual's bedrooms. We strived to make these areas as comfortable as possible.
I would like to know more about what 'was not great' so that I can address the issues. Please call me at your convenience or arrange a meeting with me so that we can make the necessary improvements.

My mum has terminal dementia, she does not speak or really make any movement, most of the time her eyes are tightly shut. In the month prior to the start of the pandemic I transferred her from another care home in the South-East, it was part of a large chain, and Mum was just a number. I am so glad

I did, since moving her to Wren Hall I feel that she is cared for as a whole person. The pandemic took hold and I was not able to visit her for eighteen months. I was able to follow her care on the internet and speak to staff when I need to. I feel that the staff go above and beyond their roles to ensure the Wren Hall family enjoy life as much as is possible in these strange times. I would recommend Wren Hall to anyone who is looking for a care home for their loved ones.

My husband went into Wren Hall for 2 weeks respite on 9th March 2020 just as Covid struck. Unfortunately, I had to go into isolation so he had to stay on, as I thought, temporarily. It later had to become permanent. I can only say, that if I had had years to look over other care homes, I could not have

chosen better. The staff are incredibly caring while their professionalism is outstanding. The efforts to keep us involved with our loved ones over the past 22 hard months, through window visits, video calls and the online platform gave us at least a glimpse into their new lives. This was at a time when the staff were experiencing unbelievably harrowing and traumatic events themselves while dealing with family who had Covid. Thank you Wren Hall Staff. You are incredible!

Please let me know what you would like to see in terms of improvement to our activities. I am sure that you are aware that we offer a wide range of activities such as daily household chores - dusting, cleaning, polishing brasses, baking, gardening, washing up, pairing socks etc. We sing, dance, paint, knit, sew. We offer intergenerational activities with our nursery children and school and college students who visit. Some activities are complete activities eg baking cakes and others are sensory activities such as tasting or feeling textures of items. The type of activity depends on the ability of each family member (resident). We know and support your wife to dance and sing, which she enjoys. However, should you believe we can offer her more, please let us know what you would like to see?

Overall Experience

Wren Hall provided palliative care for our dad, who passed away on Christmas Eve 2021.
The care Dad received at Wren Hall was exceptional, Dad was kept as comfortable as possible whilst we as a family were also treated with so much genuine compassion. Watching them care for Dad during those last days

was a moving and honestly humbling experience and we cannot praise the staff enough.

Wren Hall provides exceptional care for my mum and support for families.
I have 100% confidence in Wren Hall. After moving Mum to Wren Hall from another home we saw a massive improvement in Mum's health and well-being. Sedative medication was now rarely needed as Mum was calm, engaged and happy with

her life.
The level of professionalism and knowledge about family members individual visual needs is second to none!

My mother has been in Wren Hall since June 2020, following the sudden death of my father, who cared for her. Although reluctant to put her in a home, her advanced Motor Neurone disease meant she needed 24-hour care and although we tried to care for her initially while we all dealt with bereavement,

we were advised to find a suitable nursing home. Wren Hall came strongly recommended, even then we were worried, feeling that we had “abandoned” her to some extent and that she needed her family most. We shouldn’t have worried. Despite dealing with everything Covid-19 has thrown at them, the manager and the staff have gone beyond our expectations, providing an extremely high standard of nursing care, but more importantly, a seemingly never-ending amount of kindness and patience. Despite my mother being given only a few months to live, she is still there after a year, surely a testament to the high level of care she gets. We are so lucky to have her there. Thank you to the manager and all the staff!

Overall Experience

Wren Hall is my husband's third care home. The 3 year wait for a place was, in the end, worth it. All sections of the care provided demonstrate a high standard, putting the residents first. The lockdown had a devastating effect on the home, but when I contacted staff for any reason, staff always presented

a positive front to me, even though I knew what they were up against.

Overall Experience

Wren Hall is a wonderful, caring and loving environment. Despite the Covid lockdown, we have been able to access daily updates on how mum is doing and the staff are always on hand to facilitate Facetime calls. The wonderful staff have also dealt with mum's challenging behaviour with understanding and

patience, working through the various ways in which mum might be entertained, distracted or pacified (depending on her mood). In previous residential care settings, the emphasis was on controlling mum through drugs and by constraining her choices. At Wren Hall, they have worked with us as a family, and with the GP, to get mum off the medication and provide more therapeutic support. At Wren Hall, mum is allowed the freedom, choice and space to be herself but in an environment that is supportive and safe. We really couldn't find a better home and family environment for her (and we have tried)! I would thoroughly recommend it.

Even before the pandemic Wren Hall Nursing Home was an amazing care home, treating my husband with love, care and respect at all times. During the pandemic they have kept me in touch with the online system of being able to see every day what my husband is doing, including photographs for me to look

at which has been a great comfort to me and the family. All the staff are amazing!
