The team at Bright Meadows Care Home provide residential, nursing convalescent, palliative and respite care for up to 120 residents.

All bedrooms are en suite, maintaining and promoting dignity for residents and allowing as much independence as possible. There is also a spacious dining area where residents can enjoy freshly prepared meals, a café to encourage socialisation between residents and their loved ones, and a music room where residents can enjoy listening to their favourite tracks. Outside the home there is a courtyard with established greenery and places to sit outside and enjoy the fresh air.

The home also has a specialist dementia unit, ensuring residents living with dementia receive the care and attention they need in a part of the home that has been carefully designed for safety, comfort and to help retain skills.

I've been very happy with the care my mother has received in the home since last November. The only issue I have is the loss of clothes. Not only have the staff been very caring with my mum they have interacted with me and kept me up to date with everything regarding her health, giving me encouragement
when my mum was quite poorly.

Thank you for your review. We take all concerns very seriously and apologise that some clothing has been lost. We have been trialling a new tagging system for labelling Resident's clothes which has proved effective, however, it is very time-consuming. We do ask that relatives help their loved ones, and our staff, by asking them to label the clothes. We would be very happy to help if this causes any difficulty for you. Satisfied with the home and staff, give good overall care. However, I would like to see more encouragement and motivation to walk unaided by a wheelchair.

Our staff at Four Seasons fully supports the encouragement of motivating our Residents to mobilise safely, if they are physically able and their medical condition allows them to. We aim to provide the necessary care, documented therapy input, based on the on-going support, assessment and expertise from the multi-disciplinary community physiotherapy teams visiting our residents here at Four Seasons Care Home. Since your mum has been at Four Seasons we have actively being working with the Community Physiotherapy Team who have visited your mom to carry out an assessment to define and explore your mothers mobility needs and abilities. The next stage of her rehabilitation will be dependent on the findings and results of recent medical investigations.
The Home manager operates an open door policy. Please feel free to call in any time to discuss any concerns you may have.

On visiting Auntie, I could not believe the difference. She was dancing and singing. I have never seen her like this before. She was always introverted and the thought of getting up to dance anywhere brought on traumas. She is so different to this time last year when we thought we were looking for her
end of life care.

My wife has been a resident in The Winter unit of over six years and nine months. During the early years, Four Seasons was part of another care home group, which collapsed financially with very serious consequences. After HC-One took over the home improved steadily, with much better facilities, and
in a more stable condition. HC-One established a new management team at the beginning of this year, and under the new home manager, every aspect of the home has been assessed and a plan to further improve the homes standards has been actioned. Some of the carers problems are of long standing but the bad apples are gradually being dismissed, and some first class, new staff have been recruited.

My mother is well cared for and if she has a medical problem nursing staff are quite capable of dealing with it. If not, there is no hesitation and a GP is called to visit her. Food is very good with a choice every day. There is ample entertainment although she will not always join in with it which
is a pity. She needs a push but maybe she is not pushed enough. Overall, this is a good home and I feel confident she is being looked after.

Satisfactory on the whole. Tops of ointment tubes often left off. Mum is on pureed food which never seems appetising. The health worker who reviewed her swallowing suggested mashed banana and ready brek to the kitchen but this has not been followed up. Drinks thickened too much at times.

We can confirm that we have looked into the issues that have been raised.
We are sorry that tops have been found open on tubes of cream. A new system has been put into place to ensure that creams and ointments are stored away from resident bedrooms in a treatment room. These are checked daily by the nurse in charge.
A review of meal service has taken place with the support of a hospitality manager and the catering team are committed to providing appetising and varied texture modified meals. Porridge is available every morning and is fortified to enhance the nutritional content. Honey and preserves are also available to add to the porridge if it is to the person's taste. The chef is happy to provide mashed banana.


We are sorry if drinks have been presented over-thickened. All staff who assist with drinks have been assigned training on the use of thickening agents. Visual prompts have been out into place on the use of thickening agents in resident care documentation and care plans state the consistency required and the number of scoops needed to achieve the consistency.

Mum has recently moved from Autumn to Spring, she has been a resident for 3 years.


Mum is extremely happy on this unit it is nicely decorated with lots of little touches that help when you have dementia i.e different coloured doors, memory boxes, black and white photos and past years memorabilia

that the elderly can relate to. The lounge and dinning room areas are bright and inviting, mums room is bright she has her own en-suite and we have personalised her room with her photos soft furnishing etc.


The staff are cheerful and very accommodating the senior in charge is lovely and is very passionate about the job she does and she cares very much about the residents.


The entertainment is good with various events taking place mum in particular enjoys the singers who entertain with music from days gone bye and a dance the entertainment staff are enthusiastic and encourage residents to join in.


I do hope that the management resolve its current problems restoring the homes reputation.

The carers are extremely kind and try to help the residents to be content and happy. They (the carers) are always pleasant and cheerful and willing to go "that extra step" to support the relatives as well as the residents. The management have an "opendoor" policy so if someone does have a problem they
can be seen to as soon as possible.

I feel the home on the whole has improved, but have issues with the agency nurses on evenings. I've just had a bad incident concerning my husband. The nurse on duty could not change his belly bag. I find that very disturbing. This is not the first time this has happened to my husband, having to go to
hospital about the same thing.

We take on board the comments on this review. We do currently use agency staff alongside our own staff. We are actively recruiting into vacant posts however in the interim we must maintain safe staffing levels with the use of agency. This concern has been addressed formally through our complaints policy and the relevant Agency made aware of the incident formally.

I flew from the Isle of Man to visit my father, nobody knew me or that I was coming, the staff were informative friendly, helpful and they cared. The home smelt nice, is clean, have activity's they had a live singer at night, during their Christmas event, it had an overall feeling of happiness.

am pleased that my Father is being cared for at Four Seasons, he was previously at another home, and this is twice the place, for quite a few reasons, is a very pleasant home.
