Mill View offers a range of care services that ensure the right level of care is provided for each resident. Whether staff are helping people to remain as independent as possible or providing complete dementia care, the home will be able to cater for each individual’s needs. Care is available for short or long term requirements and includes dementia care and palliative care.

Mill View comprises of four spacious houses; each house has its own dining room and lounge for residents to enjoy spending time in. All houses have access to the large gardens and bright conservatory and patio area.

Tasty meals are cooked in the home daily, as well as homemade cakes which are served every day with afternoon tea.

The home has several clubs which residents are encouraged to get involved with to continue a hobby, or even start a new one. Clubs include flower arranging, painting and gardening.

Since my grandmother became a resident of Atlas House she has been extremely happy, the staff are amazing and look after her. I now know that it was the right choice for my grandmother as she’s had made friends and everytime I see her she’s smiling which is a pleasure to see. Thank you team Atlas!

The staff are really lovely and definitely care about my nan and her needs. Due to lockdown, I cannot review the actual unit however the visiting pod has been a lifesaver throughout lockdown and we are enjoying being able to see her in person rather than via a screen or on the phone.

My mum has been a resident in Albion House since July 2020 and we are happy with the care she is receiving. The staff are always very helpful and pleasant and regular updates on their Facebook page are a warm and lovely insight into events that the residents participate in. It's good to know that mum
is safe and has settled in.
I look forward to phoning her every few weeks, to have a quick chat and catch up and have done a couple of window visits, weather permitting. With the addition of the visiting POD, this has been an excellent opportunity to bring our family back together in a safe and warm environment, an experience that has been beneficial to us all. It was emotional as Dad hadn't seen mum since 7th March 2020 and we talked, laughed and smiled. I would recommend that families take up the POD visit as it is a heartwarming experience. Thank you to the staff who have helped to support the POD visits.

The staff and care are wonderful at Atlas House. My mum is very comfortable and safe. There is a lot of activities for residents and always helpful if needed.

My mother has severe dementia and has lost the capacity to look after herself. It became apparent just over two years ago that she would need to go into care for her own good, and also to give my father a rest and breathing space from the violence and abuse which can ride tandem with dementia. My mother
had received some respite care at an excellent respite care home, but this was only a temporary solution to the situation. After looking at and visiting several care homes within the area, we found Mill View Care Home. After a single viewing, I had no doubts in my mind whatsoever that this was the best facility we had visited. My mother made a relatively smooth transition to the care home. Almost immediately, her demeanour became more placid and calm. She has since moved units within the care home to cater to her needs. She now resides in the Martin Unit. I cannot praise the staff enough for the care she receives.

My mum is in Rutland house and I can only but praise the whole team. She is so very loved and cared for from such a dedicated team. I can truly see how the staff team really care and meet Mum's needs. Whilst I have missed seeing her in lockdown I know she is happy.

When Dad required care for his Alzheimer’s, we visited so many homes to find him the best possible care home to meet his needs. It was really difficult but my husband and myself, but on visiting Rutland House, part of the Mill View Advina Care Home, we felt welcomed, reassured and comfortable on our
visit. Staff are hardworking, professional and caring.
My dad has lived there since 2015 and we have always been happy and reassured that he is in a safe and homely environment.
We as a family have visited Dad in the past (before COVID), on a regular basis, 2/3 times a week and we have always felt very welcome.
We would like to thank you all for everything you do for my dad. You are very much appreciated.

My wife was in Mill View and got the best care. The nursing staff and careers were brilliant. I must mention the 2 registered nurses on Victoria House where my wife was, they went above and beyond themselves. They printed photos for me to put on her wall and kept me up to date via email on how my wife
was progressing. Nothing was too much trouble even though they had other residents to deal with. In fact, they have become friends. I would recommend Mill View care home to people who have a difficult choice to make.

My dad has been in Mill View Care Home since June 2019. The staff are so very caring. Since COVID they have kept us up to date. They even FaceTime so we can see our dad. They have plenty of activities, the meals are wonderful. I have been on many occasions just before lunch, they have a 3-course meal.
I witnessed a meal for a resident that requires pureed food, it was set out like the proper meal the veg had been puréed separate to the potatoes and meat. All separate so it looked like the meal all the other residents were having. The staff are always very helpful and will do anything for the family and residents. I cannot speak highly enough of all the staff. I would definitely recommend the care come.

Very lovely staff who cared for my Nannie with dignity, care and respect. They were helpful and supportive during the lockdown, organising FaceTime sessions, phone call updates and emails during the day and night. These brought comfort and reassurance during a difficult time. Not only was my Nannie
loved and supported, but care and support were provided for the family too.

From the day we viewed Martin House at Mill View Care Home, we knew this was the right choice for my sister. She has the freedom to walk around safely but is always observed so we know she is safe. The meals always look lovely and daily menus are displayed. Drinks are provided regularly which is so
important. The home always looks very clean with no unpleasant smells and the staff are lovely with my sister and our family.

Mill View has been my mums home for the last four years. She had advanced dementia and the unit she lived in was Rutland house EMI nursing. I cannot praise the staff enough for their care and dedication and respect to my mum, and the care and respect they gave to myself and my family. When my mum was
put on end of life, the staff on Rutland were amazing, it was a very emotional time for me and my family and they were there for us 24/7. God bless you all and thank you.

The staff are all very welcoming. They do their very best for my husband. I am very pleased with all aspects of the home.
They do make my husband comfortable. He is always well presented.

My mother is very well looked after by the dedicated staff. The home is very clean and well cared for with a comfortable lounge. She has a key carer who lets me know if any supplies such as toiletries are required.

As an occasional visitor, I cannot comment on some of the questions. I find the staff excellent and hardworking. The rooms in Maring House need a refurb as does the whole building inside and outside area. Another of the houses seemed much more bright and cheerful and welcoming, and fresher we do take
the resident outside weather permitting and would welcome more seating and perhaps a little shelter of some kind, perhaps like a bus shelter for colder windy days.

My mother, 99, has lived in Atlas House, Mill View Care Home, Bolton, for 17 months, since 10th October 2017.
I have wide experience of care homes, as a priest and as an ex-community psychiatric nurse for the elderly.
Rarely have I witnessed such kindness, patience, imagination, creativity, personalised
care as my mother and our family receive here. We dreaded a care home, but our fears were groundless.

My Aunt went into Mill View Care Home for respite and then into longterm care, between September - December 2018, at which point I moved her due to the lack of care, she often had incorrect clothing no socks or underwear, dirty hair, she was not encouraged to walk and constantly put into a wheelchair.
She
was so ill when I visited in December I had to request that staff call a doctor -symptoms had gone untreated and not reviewed appropriately.
I did not see a caring environment or any respect for any of the elderly clients. There were too few staff and they were often sitting around not engaging with clients.
My Aunt lost 4.5 kilos in 1 week.
Thankfully she is now in a new care home in a different part of the country almost back to her old self, walking everywhere and putting weight on.
I would not recommend this establishment.

I have over 37 years of experience in care which began from leaving school when I did a youth training scheme at an all-women’s care home in Chorley where I quickly progressed to Senior Carer. To widen my knowledge and progress my career, I took the role of Care Assistant at Mill View in 1992 when it was a Nursing home. Through the years, I have seen many changes to the home with different company take-overs and the home becoming dual registered for both Nursing & Residential Care.
