Mill View offers a range of care services that ensure the right level of care is provided for each resident. Whether staff are helping people to remain as independent as possible or providing complete dementia care, the home will be able to cater for each individual’s needs. Care is available for short or long term requirements and includes dementia care and palliative care.

Mill View comprises of four spacious houses; each house has its own dining room and lounge for residents to enjoy spending time in. All houses have access to the large gardens and bright conservatory and patio area.

Tasty meals are cooked in the home daily, as well as homemade cakes which are served every day with afternoon tea.

The home has several clubs which residents are encouraged to get involved with to continue a hobby, or even start a new one. Clubs include flower arranging, painting and gardening.

My dad was discharged from hospital into Mill View on 10 October.
This was an extremely difficult time for my family as my brother died in June and, at the time dad was due to be discharged from hospital, my mum suffered a stroke and, against all expectations, died in hospital before she was discharged.
During
dads stay in Mill View the staff and management were extremely understanding and supportive of my family’s needs; they allowed a member of staff to escort my dad to mums funeral in November and treated dad with absolute kindness and respect.
They kept me in the loop every step of the way if anything happened or anything was needed.
Sadly my dad also died on 3 December after a brief illness; however the day before, he was bright and cheerful.
Everyone in dads unit did their utmost to cater for dads practical and emotional needs.
I honestly cannot thank them enough.

When we started looking for care homes for my grandad (who at the time had spent months in hospital and couldn't return home). We viewed homes in the 10s. We wanted the best for my grandad somewhere we could spend with him as a family. Millview (Rutland) made us feel very welcome. They are a very friendly
team and welcome us every time we visit. I often take my two young children (age 11 months and 5 years). Since moving to Millview grandad has come on leaps and bounds. The staff team support him round the clock (often having a little dance at 2am in the morning). My grandma often struggles leaving him and can gets upset. The team are very supportive of her too. They even provided us with space to have an 80th birthday party which meant so much, making memories that will last. We are very happy with Mill View Care Home. The staff have a very difficult job and they do it day and night. I can’t thank them enough for all that they do, thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Always a good welcome by the staff when I visit. Staff always listen if I comment on an issue and deal with it. The unit always has a warm and friendly atmosphere. My Mother in Law is always dealt with, with dignity. A nice place.

I have no issues with the quality of care that my mother is receiving. All the staff are approachable, considerate, friendly and very helpful. My only concern is that it seems to be the policy that all toiletries have been removed from the sink area and in my mother's case placed in the wardrobe. Not
a good idea for those who are forgetful and don't remember where they are kept.

No matter what time you visit Atlas Houser has a lovely atmosphere. Everyone is welcoming and always have a spare minute to say hello. I've been a nurse for 34 years and expect the best possible care for my 103-year-old grandma and I believe she receives this.
It's good to know my very special/wonderful
grandma is receiving the care she should.

Mill View has a warm and friendly atmosphere. The staff are very caring and friendly with all the residents. They go out of their way to help you and keep you informed about your partner's care. My husband always looks clean, tidy and nicely dressed. The home is kept very clean and is always nice and
warm. I know my husband is being well cared for and I feel quite happy leaving him there. Thank you for looking after my husband.

Since my husband went to stay at Mill view I feel confident the staff will care and look after him to the best of their ability. They do a marvellous job which must be very difficult at times. They do not get the recognition they deserve.

My husband had vascular dementia, due to my illness and treatment he had to go into care. He was re-assessed after 3 months to needing more secure accommodation and went to Millview (Albion House). He settled very well under the excellent care received, but had to be hospitalised with flu. After 8 weeks
in the hospital, he was re-assessed as end of life care and moved back to Millview Rutland House. Under the excellent care, he was back to normal in 3 months.

It is now Dad's second stay at Mill View. He was in Dove House, but now resident in Martin House. His vascular dementia has made him a different chap to look after and his obsession to escape care is heartbreaking at times. But we fee Martin House are looking after him as is best possible. We feel he
is in the best place, with Mum being across in Albion, which means we can get them together on visits. Martin House phones us to keep us in touch with any issues or concerns regarding Dad, which give us peace of mind when we can't be there.

Since my Dad moved into Mill View I have seen a marked improvement in his overall appearance. He is well groomed and clean. He is not left in isolation and although his communication with others is limited, he responds to the staff who are always polite and patient with him. The management keeps me
informed of his everyday wellbeing and overall health. So, in summary, I would say he is as comfortable as can be.

Mum has Alzheimer's and has been a resident in Albion House for over a year now. She seems to have settled in at Albion. She praises the staff and tells us how well they look after her. With Dad being in Martin House Mum is happy as long as she gets to see Dad, which we try to achieve as often as possible.
We feel confident Mum is being well looked after when we are not there with her. Albion phones us with any concerns or issue regarding Mum, which gives us peace of mind she is in good hands.

Just to say how much I am impressed with the care and attention I find the staff most diligent and caring. On a personal note, I find staff most helpful if I have to ask about my brother I always get an update on his wellbeing. I find Mill View Care Home most clean and fresh. I have been on numerous
occasions visiting gardens and coming along to meetings.

I like this care home for my dad because it is the only home Dad has settled in. He is very happy and safe in Mill View. Dad always enjoys his meals and eats well. Dad is also very supported by all staff involved.

My father had a brief stay in Dove house, Mill View recently before passing away. The staff in the home were always helpful and very welcoming. I live some distance away so would often call to speak with my father over the phone. Enabling this to happen was an additional task in their day. I found they
tried as much as possible to make this happen and showed an awareness of how much it helped him to communicate with us.
I know how hard it can be to care for the different needs of residents and felt the staff there strove to achieve this whenever possible, treating dad with the dignity he deserved.

I have over 37 years of experience in care which began from leaving school when I did a youth training scheme at an all-women’s care home in Chorley where I quickly progressed to Senior Carer. To widen my knowledge and progress my career, I took the role of Care Assistant at Mill View in 1992 when it was a Nursing home. Through the years, I have seen many changes to the home with different company take-overs and the home becoming dual registered for both Nursing & Residential Care.


I am very approachable as a manager and am always happy to help and support my team to deliver the best possible care.”
