Regency Care Home is conveniently situated in Whitefield, between central Manchester and Bury, and is within easy reach of local shops and other amenities including public transport.

The home provides residential care for people who need support with everyday activities such as washing, dressing or eating, as well as keeping on top of taking regular medications. Additionally, the service offers specialist residential care for people who are living with dementia or a mental health condition.

Nursing care is also available at the home for people who live with more complex medical needs.

Short-term respite care is also offered at the home to give family or friends a well-earned break.

Upon arrival, residents are supported by the staff to develop a personalised care plan using an electronic comprehensive integrated Care Planning system. This not only records information around an individual’s care needs but includes interests, hobbies and dietary preferences also. This system gives everyone involved in residents’ care instant access to care information and preferences from their individual care plan to provide responsive and person-centred care.
They use an electronic medication system for clear and accurate and safe administration of medications and they also assist residents, who are able to and chose to look after their own medications.

Traditional home cooking using fresh produce is offered with choices being available. Special diets can be catered for.

With a dedicated activities coordinator in place, you will be rest assured that there will always be meaningful activities taking place in and out of the home for residents to enjoy.

My dad was a resident at Regency Care Home for a few weeks towards the end of his life. Choosing a care home is tough, but from our first visit, we were impressed with the facilities, location, the calm and friendly atmosphere, and professionalism of the team. They knew how to take away the stress that
we felt as a family, seamlessly building a care and nursing plan for my dad including setting up a new GP, pharmacy and community teams. We didn't have to worry anymore. My dad settled in quickly, which surprised us. It was easy for us and his friends to visit and we knew that when we were not there he was not alone. The team spent quality time talking to and getting to know him, you can see that this is a focus with all residents across the entire home, it was lovely to see. We knew that my dad was at all times being treated with respect, cared for, had good nursing support and most importantly was able to smile and laugh. We will be forever grateful to the entire team.

My dad was a resident at Regency Care Centre, Whitefield, for about six months and I can honestly say, there was never any problem. The staff were always ready and willing to help with any problem. The care and hospitality was always above and beyond and I am personally so amazed with the work everyone
does there. I was always at ease knowing my dad was in their care. The receptionist was always polite, informative and very welcoming and also another member of the senior staff, kept us up to date with everything going on with my dad's care. I would highly recommend this service for anyone requiring care for their relative.

Our mum is currently in The Regency and has just completed 12 months there. I and my family are more than happy with the care home, as we know she is treated with dignity and with the highest level of care and compassion. The care, support and communication have been excellent and we can not praise
it enough, right down from the manager and all the staff. Each one has made our mum's care perfect.


The private rooms, day rooms, meals etc., are absolutely excellent. The cleanliness and adherence to procedures are superb and cannot be faulted. We feel 100% reassured that our mum is being cared for to the highest of standards and that she is happy there. They now have a daily Entertainments Manager that helps stimulate the residents which is brilliant.


We cannot recommend The Regency highly enough!

Mum has been residing at the Regency Care Home for one year. Mum isn't great with her mobility and the floor space, room sizes are just right for her (it is like home). The residents who wish to sit in the lounge, are in an area where they can chat with each other, it really does give a family vibe.
The staff are all lovely, and when visiting mum, if there are any matters to discuss, they are there ready to listen and provide input. It is reassuring that the GP is on hand and visits as and when required. Mum is happy, and well cared for and it is heartwarming to know that she is treated as part of their family. It's great knowing that visitors are welcome to visit when they wish.
Big shout out to the activities coordinator who is great with all the residents doing different things to keep them all interested and content during the day. Mum loves having her hair done (the hairdresser attends weekly). Overall, best decision made 12 months ago! Thank you all and keep up the great work.

My father was a resident at Regency care, Whitefield. It is an appalling place where residents are left shouting for the toilet to no avail. When I would visit dad he would ask me for the toilet I would push dad along the corridor and staff would disappear to avoid the task. Would give zero stars if
I could. Lots of money is spent on furnishings as opposed to staff.

I am so sorry for the sad loss of your father whilst in hospital and also sorry that you feel this way, however, it is very important to note that neither you or your family have raised any complaint where we would have had the opportunity to investigate and resolve. I am aware that my team needed to speak with you on one occasion as you were shouting in the corridor which of course was not appropriate and detrimental to other residents. Complete lack of leadership. It starts at the top and the so-called manager of this care home seems to be glued to her seat in her nice little office. The place is understaffed pretty much every day. No matter what other reviews you read, I say it how it is and this place is going downhill fast. Do
not send your loved ones here. You have been warned.

After having experienced both of my parents in other care homes in Bury, I feel comfortable with the knowledge that my mum is now at Regency Care Home. My mother is cared for safely and well. Over the last four years, I have had both parents at the Regency, unfortunately, my dear father passed away
two years ago. Since that time I feel that my mother is so well looked after despite her pain and sorrow. I genuinely feel that on my daily visits to see mum, I observe everyone there apply their best care and the team endeavour to make all residents happy.

Brilliant, brilliant care is all I can say about the team who looked after my Nan. My Nan did not want to go to a care home but fortunately, the team reassured my Nan as soon as she arrived and showed compassion and care alongside great dignity. The respect she received from the team was absolutely
fantastic. We were bit bit sceptical as a family when we arrived at the nursing home but all our fears were put to one side when we saw how much care she was receiving from a great team. Her pain was managed well and she was supported to maintain her dignity while she was there. Sadly she was only at the Regency a few weeks before she passed away and a difficult time was made easier by the honest conversations we had with the nursing staff.

Mum stayed at the Regency Care Home in February 2022. She was very nervous when she arrived but received lots of encouragement from the team and by the next day she was quite calm. The staff managed her needs extremely well and were very aware went to give her additional pain relief. As a family, we
received excellent communication from the team but especially from the nurse in charge. What was an extremely difficult time was made easier by the care and compassion that was shown to my mum but also to us as a family.
When my mum sadly passed away in March we were kept fully informed of what needed to done next and support was given to us.
The team are really lovely and very helpful.

My Mother in law was in Regency Care Home from February 2022 to March 2022. She was on the nursing unit. The care and compassion she received at the Regency was absolutely fabulous. When she arrived she was very anxious, but she received reassurance as soon as she arrived. Although she was only there
a few weeks before she sadly passed away I have to say she was very, very complimentary of the staff. As a family we found the staff to be compassionate. As a family, we found the staff and kind. A special mention is for the nurse in charge as her communication and honesty of the situation was superb.
I do believe she could not have had any better care anywhere else. When she passed away the staff were incredibly kind and patient answering all our questions. Another special mention for one staff member in the office whose communication and knowledge was excellent.
I can't thank the team enough for the way they cared for my mother in law in her last few weeks.

The care and kindness that my aunty has received at Regency have been excellent! All of the staff treated her with gentle, empathetic, and genuine care. When she arrived she was frightened and anxious but by the next day, she was calm and comfortable. I cannot thank the managers and their team enough

My gran sadly had dementia and was only in the home for a week or so before she left us, but I cannot begin to express how grateful I am for the care my gran was given during her last few days of life. Every single member of staff that helped my gran were absolutely amazing with her and gave me and
my family so much support when she passed away. From the bottom of my heart, thank you. I will be forever in your debt.

The care, love and support shown to my mum and our family was incredible. The care was above standard. All the staff were very professional, friendly, caring and were genuine. My mum felt safe, loved and cared for. During Covid, it was a particularly hard time for everyone, but Regency ensured we had
phone calls and drive-by visits. On special occasions, the carers made sure the residents had a wonderful time. I will always be indebted to your kindness and can’t thank you enough for the way you all cared for my mum. The dementia team were amazing and I really mean each and every one of you. “My passion is end of life care and ensuring that residents are advocated for and families experience support at the worst time.”


Nichola has worked in the Health and Social Care sector for 17 years and has been with Regency for four years. Nichola comes from a family of nurses and believes this was her calling in life.


Why did you decide to join Lovett Care
Having suffered bereavements myself, it emphasised my need to want to care for others. I wanted to be a positive change agent ensuring the delivery of meaningful care and treatment to a high standard.
Also, I was really impressed by the care and nursing team at Regency as they strive to deliver person-centred care to the highest achievable standard. I liked how the home is friendly, engaging and has a homely atmosphere.

What do you enjoy most about your job?
As the Registered Manager, I enjoy having the opportunity to make meaningful changes to the service that directly affects the health optimisation of the residents in my care. Also, I like how nothing is too much for the care team and they always go above and beyond their duties to ensure the residents lives are enriched.
My passion is end of life care and ensuring that residents are advocated for and families experience support at the worst time.


What are your favourite hobbies and pastimes?
I have two teenage children and my little dog Bella, so I enjoy spending time with family and going on trips away. I am also passionate about fundraising for charities.


Are there any highlights in your career you are particularly proud of?
In 2018, I was awarded the FSHC National Deputy Manager Award from 235 applicants. Also, in 2019, the Chief Nursing Officer visited Regency and commended the service we provide.


Recently, in 2020 myself and the home was awarded 'The High Sheriff Special Recognition Award' for outstanding care delivered and innovation shown throughout the Covid-19 pandemic.


What are your Qualifications?
I worked as a hospital auxiliary for the first part of my career. Then I went on to complete my nurse training. I worked a registered mental health nurse across a variety of hospital settings, before working the private sector in 2015.
In 2016, I took the role of Deputy Home Manager at Regency. After a short period, I became the registered Home Manager.


What top tips would you give someone when looking for the right care home?
If you are looking to place a loved one in care, I would advise anyone to read the CQC inspection report and look around all available facilities to ensure the choice you make is the right one for you and your family.
