Thorton Lodge is in a different league in its care of my father and knows exactly what to do to defuse his anxiety and confusion (something the other home didn’t do although they claim to offer dementia care!)
The carers here are welcoming, efficient and seem totally genuine in their care with the residents. Some of the areas/furniture etc are a bit tired looking but it’s the care they offer that’s important and this far outweighs the look!

Since moving into Thornton Lodge, my mother's physical, psychological and emotional health and well-being have improved astonishingly. She is happy, conversant and better cared for than she has been in long while.
The care, commitment and dedication of the staff and their attention to the residents is exemplary. I would highly recommend this home to anyone.

Our main emphasis is the care of the residents and they are looked after at all times in a safe environment. Your uncle is dearly missed by all. Now that the home have employed an activities coordinator there are more opportunities for stimulation, which is especially important for my Mother, who suffers with dementia. I look forward to this role growing, and welcome increasing variety of activities on offer.
The inner decor is currently under refurbishment, and is already starting to look both brighter and cleaner.

Thanks for your review Marc. As we have spoken many times, we treat every resident with the compassion and in a dignified manner which makes all residents comfortable. I am pleased that you find us approachable and that we have listened, as I believe we help to look after the residents families as well as the residents.
The refurbishment is taking a little longer than hoped, but next thing are the carpets and chairs. Once this is done, hopefully will look even more brighter.
