Ideally located on the edge of Oldham and recently benefitting from a refurbishment programme, Avalon Park offers personalised residential and residential dementia care in a home from home environment.

Residents benefit from a range of comfortable areas where they can socialise and relax, including a number of dining spaces that provide a welcoming space to enjoy meals with fellow residents, or family and friends. The delightful tea room is also a firm favourite with residents and their loved ones.

The team across the home, from Care Assistants to Wellbeing Coordinators and Chefs, is dedicated to promoting and enhancing resident wellbeing. The catering team creates delicious meals to ensure a lovely dining experience for all residents and visitors, whilst the care team at Avalon Park creates a varied activities programme to suit the interests and capabilities of each resident.

Avalon Park also understands the importance of social connection, so whether building relationships with local community groups and schools or taking trips around the area, residents are encouraged to engage with the local community in Oldham.

This care home does not care for their residents. They do not show residents the dignity and respect they should. Residents are allowed to wander into other residents' rooms. Residents allowed to sleep in other residents' beds and staff seem to just ignore this. Personal belongings keep going missing
and staff use residents' items on other residents such as hair brushes etc. If you miss a meal such as breakfast - then you miss it. There is no option to have a late breakfast. Residents are not properly dressed in the morning - there have been many occasions when we have had to re-dress a resident.

Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. These concerns were brought to our attention directly and as such they have been fully investigated and responded to. Some of the Residents at Avalon Park are living with dementia and therefore they do, at times, go into other Residents’ bedrooms. Staff do distract them from doing so as far as possible and most certainly do not ignore situations where Residents fall asleep on beds that they think are theirs. We are very flexible with providing meals when Residents wish to eat. When a Resident has a lie in we always ensure that breakfast is provided for them when they want it. Alternatives are offered at every mealtime to ensure that our Residents can have a lighter or more substantial meal at a time that suits them.

I would like to say that since my mum has been in the care home, I have found all the staff and carers kind, helpful, very caring and polite in a friendly atmosphere.
They treat my mum with respect and care for all her needs. It's not easy for the relatives sometimes having somebody in a care home,
they feel guilty but the staff look after my mum as I would that gives me comfort knowing she is safe and being looked after.

I leave my Mum every day with confidence and reassurance that she is being very well looked after. The staff are quick to notice and deal with issues as they arise. They are also very welcoming, smile easily and make good eye contact. Mum reports they are kind and supportive.

A very welcoming reception area with a lovely administrator who is extremely busy but always very pleasant and eager to help.


The staff are all lovely. They are all so busy but always find the time to meet mum's needs and demands great maintenance staff.


The food is amazing and the head chef is

so pleasant and offers to try and meet any changes requested - laundry is brilliant and the cleaners are great. Thank you.

Mum is a stroke patient with loss of left side movement. The care and treatment she has received in her time here has been second to none! The staff are amazing. They work so hard and there are not enough of them. It is welcoming, warm and a happy place.

My mother has been a resident for approximately 10 months. The care she receives is great. The home is clean and tidy. I feel that my mum's needs are met. My mum has been at Avalon Park Care Home for 2 years. She received excellent care from the dedicated staff. Mum is always clean and well cared for and I feel she is in a safe and secure environment.
The meals they receive are of a good quality and special diets and needs are catered for. Residents
are always treated with respect. I feel as though I can talk to any member of staff regarding any concerns I have.
