Kenyon Lodge care home provides professional care to residents in an environment which offers family members peace of mind about the care their loved ones are receiving.

The home has 30 rooms located on the ground floor and another 30 rooms on the 1st floor, all single occupancy with en-suite facilities. There are also private gardens with a patio area for residents to enjoy.

Kenyon Lodge provides nursing and residential care for residents who are in their senior years or have a physical disability.

The home has been victorious across multiple areas at the Great British Care Awards, winning the Social Care Covid Hero Award in November 2021 and March 2022, as well as being the regional winner for the Registered Manager in November 2021.

Family members are not safe under Kenyon Lodge's care. Nursing staff failed to call an ambulance when clear stroke signs were being exhibited and she was found unresponsive in her room after being left alone for 1.5 hours.
Food is not home cooked contrary to some other reviews, as one of the 'chefs'
told us we do not cook the food, it is brought in as we cannot cook for 60 residents. Staff openly call the manager names. Very unprofessional.
Care staff do not respond quick enough to residents who are on palliative care ringing their buzzer. I have witnessed with other residents as well as my own family member.

My parents moved into Kenyon Lodge during the pandemic and lived there for over three years until my father's death in November 2023. It is difficult to sum up in words the peace of mind I had whilst they were there, but I will try to convey in this review, my personal experience. The staff are caring,
conscientious, and polite and do their upmost for the residents. Because I was permitted to be there beyond visiting times due to unique circumstances, I knew the staff continued with their dedicated work. In short, when you have a family member in KL, you become part of the KL family and together with the management and staff, you create the optimum atmosphere for your loved ones. When my mum passed away at the beginning of 2023, it was as though the staff had lost a member of their own family as they become so close to the residents. My dad continued to live at Kenyon Lodge after my mother's death and when he passed away, knowing that he was so well cared for, was a great comfort.

Moving my dad for the 3rd time has been very difficult. I was nervous at first as I live close by and heard it had a poor reputation. Dad has been here for 6 months and he has no pressure sores which is unusual as he is bed-bound and had many before. He has a few baths more here and he has not sat in
a chair in 3 years. I was amazed to see this and very thankful, he also gained weight which is positive.

Kenyon Lodge is a secure and safe place for my elderly mother.
The standards of cleaning, care and continuous attention to detail is excellent and I am confident that my mum is very well cared for.
The dayrooms and dining rooms are clean, well-presented and well-used.
I particularly like the central
garden areas where walkways and benches add real value and again, are well used by residents and visitors and a nice view out of bedroom windows.

My dad moved into Kenyon Lodge in January 2024. When we viewed the home we immediately felt this was the right home for Dad. The staff are lovely, engaging, polite and make eye contact. The home-cooked food was also a plus. Since Dad moved here we have been happy with Dad's care. I have to date, no
complaints.

We are very happy with Dad's care in Kenyon Lodge. The staff are all lovely and so conscientious. The laundry lady goes above and beyond for both residents and their families, always with a beautiful smile. The nursing staff are engaging and have always answered any questions promptly.

Mum came to Kenyon Lodge initially for respite care over Christmas. She returned on a permanent basis at the beginning of February.
She has settled in well and enjoys the company and activities, having her hair and nails done as well is a bonus.

Changes to Kenyon over the last 12 months, new manager, refurb (tidy up) and new staff have all been positive and the family feel it has improved our experiences and Mum's care. The nursing staff and carers know Mum well and provide personalised care for her. Mum is settled in Kenyon and we feel that
Mum would be happy to stay here. She enjoys the food and chatting to staff on her good days.

A lovely home with caring staff. All staff were amazing with my Dad, nothing was ever an issue and they went above and beyond, not only for Dad but for his family who visited him. They treated Dad with dignity in his last days. Would highly recommend it to anyone thinking of coming to Kenyon Lodge.

My dad moved into Kenyon Lodge after coming out of hospital after a bad fall, which he no longer could walk after. He suffered with severe dementia. The staff at Kenyon Lodge looked after him so well, caring about his wellbeing. The nurses in particular were wonderful. If in the future I had to go into
a care home myself, this would be the place for me. I can't recommend the home as much as I am, it's wonderful.

The care Mum has been given by all the carers who have provided one to one care has ensured Mum is less anxious and upset, she feels loved and cared for. The caring provided has been the best experience as the home treat Mum as family, not just a resident needing nursing care, thank you.

My stepdad went in for respite, he’s been in for two weeks up to now in a four-week stay, in this time he has been involved in a trip out to the sea life centre and been involved in a rock and roll night which I attended. They interact with him really well and make it enjoyable for him to be there,
he is able to see and interact with other residents and all of his needs (as he can sometimes be fussy) are beyond met.

My dad stayed here for respite from 16th to 26th June, during his stay he was treated with respect and compassion and his dignity was upheld throughout. He really involved himself with karaoke and the activity staff member took him to his much-loved bowling club in sweltering heat, he pushed my dad
in a wheelchair to ensure he enjoyed his experience. Dad loved his room with a view of the bird feeder and gardens. Staff assisted him to feed the birds and were always on hand to help. Dad said he enjoyed the food most days, he hadn't eaten for 4 weeks before coming into respite, however, he ate everything whilst here. He commented on how peaceful the ground floor unit was and that his stay had indeed been a pleasurable one. He will be back in July. Thank-you to everyone involved in my dad's stay, you have made some lovely memories for him.

Seems nice enough. The resident seems in a better place. Would be nice if he could get out a bit more or go on regular trips out.

Excellent facilities and care staff, always someone to speak to if you need anything. The staff and manager are always friendly. Good balanced meals and excellent entertainment. We can relax knowing our family member is looked after and has friendly staff who help and support them.
