Thank you for your review, we value all feedback as this helps us to improve our service where required. We aim to support our Residents to rise and retire at times suitable to their preferences. I have reviewed your Mother’s care plan and have put in place a plan to assist her with rising when she is ready in the morning rather than in the afternoon. We continue to monitor our Residents dependency levels monthly to ensure we are staffing appropriately to meet the needs of our Residents in our home. This information has been cascaded to the whole team to ensure your Mother is supported with her preferences and to support an enjoyable visit for you as a visitor to the home.

At Appleton Manor, we strive to deliver the kindest care for all our Residents, and any incidents are reported efficiently, investigated and safeguarded to protect the Residents involved. We sincerely apologise for the incident that occurred with your sister. The staffing within the Home is reviewed monthly and the Home is staffed according to the dependencies of our Residents to give the best quality of care across the Home. We are delighted that you feel improvements have been made to the Home and the staff team.

Thank you for the positive feedback about the staff at Appleton Manor. It is lovely to hear that you feel your mother is always well looked after.
We are currently replacing some carpets as despite the very best efforts of our housekeeping team we have been unable to eliminate the odour on the first floor. This work is being carried out as a matter of urgency. We are also reviewing décor in residents’ rooms and implementing a programme of redecoration.

What does ‘kindness’ mean to you?
“For me, kindness involves ensuring that each Resident receives person-centred care.”
Amy has worked in the care industry since the age of 18 years old and has gained a wealth of knowledge in providing care and support to people, to enrich their lives. She is a dedicated leader who is passionate about delivering the highest standards in care and quality of life for Residents.
Amy joined Appleton Manor as Home Manager as she shares HC-One’s vision in aiming to provide the kindest care for each and every Resident. She extends this caring approach to her colleagues and works closely with them to deliver care and support to Residents in a way that they gain the most benefit, in a warm and welcoming home.
She also works hard to arrange events and activities with nearby schools and clubs and is always keen to include the local community in life at Appleton Manor.
When asked what she enjoys most about her role, Amy remarked: “I enjoy going into work each day and getting to spend quality time with my Residents.”
Away from work, Amy likes to spend quality time with her friends and family and describes her greatest achievement as being a mum.
