Our family can only say a huge thank you to everyone looking after our Mum in Arbour Court over the last 8-months.
We can see that she is well cared for in every aspect. She speaks to her carers with kind responses so we know that is how they treat her!
It has been an emotional time finding a home
and settling Mum in. The staff have been wonderful and everyone’s attitude to us has been helpful and considerate. We can’t thank them enough and feel that we have found our extended family.

All the staff who saw me were incredibly friendly and courteous. I’ve always been made to feel welcome. Mum is looked after incredibly well and I know she is being given the best care possible. Warm room and tv on for entertainment.

Since mum became a resident at Arbour Court, she is now pleasantly muddled and very settled. This is down to the excellent loving care she has received. The staff know their patients as people, not statistics and because of that have the gift of “reading” the resident’s needs without waiting for the
resident to tell them. I miss my mum but I don’t worry about her as I know she is safe and receiving the expert care that we could no longer give her in the family home.

The resident and I value the fact he is allowed the choice of remaining in his room or going into the lounge. He is always clean and smartly dressed and the meals are nicely presented, looks and smell appetising. I've omitted to tick activities because I don't know if he participates?
Unfortunately,
the is often the aroma of urine in the corridor having low ceilings, carpets and enclosed corridors make it inevitable sometimes.

My wife was taken into Arbour Court one year ago. A difficult time for all due to Covid. Over that year I have found all the staff to be kind, caring and helpful. I have been particularly impressed by the Covid prevention measures put in place in general, and the extra precautions to handle times of
greater need. I feel very comfortable with the care that my wife is receiving.

My wife has been been a resident at Arbour Court for just over 2 years but due to Covid, it has been very difficult for residents and relatives. I have lost contact with most of the staff and only meet a small number at limited visiting time. However, I have no reason not to praise all the staff including
Gardener, House Keepers, Chef's, Carers, Nursing and Management Staff. I have always found all the staff polite helpful and sympathetic when the time is appropriate. There will always be times when one feels your concern/problem should be treated more urgently but one may not be aware of a far more serious situation is at the forefront. Situations are always changing and I have never seen the staff panicking. We have had an experience of a very bad residential care home, which put us on guard on admission to Arbour Court. I am delighted to state I am very pleased with the love and care my wife receives if she only knew us all and her living surroundings. A very good team all round.

My Mum has been a resident of Barchester Arbour Court Care Home for nearly a year. She has vascular dementia and was very frail after having a fall at a previous care home. When admitted she was refusing to eat and was end of life.
The care and attention she has received from all her nursing team has
been great. Mum is now eating and looking a lot better with colour in her cheeks.
Her room is lovely and has everything she needs and surrounded by lots of family photos.
I would highly recommend Arbour Court without a doubt.

My feedback is related to the magnificent care that my mother is receiving from your team. I truly thought that she was at the end of her life in May 2020 when she went under your care but you have performed miracles with her physical condition.
Given Covid restrictions and the fact that I live 300
miles away, I call to speak to my mother frequently and each time I call I always try to have a conversation with the care team members on duty. I am extremely grateful that every one of the care team has given me the time to talk to me and explain in kind, but factual, terms how my mother is actually doing. The care team members display a calm, patient and pleasant manner and seem to have a genuine affection towards my mother (this view is entirely endorsed by my mother).
To finish, I wish to formally thank all of you for what you are doing to care for my mother and I would be quite willing to publicly endorse this facility and the staff in any way I can.

My mother moved into Arbour Court in February 2020 after her carer, my father, became seriously ill. I was worried about the prospect of my mother going into care but I needn't have been. From day one when I was given a guided tour of Arbour Court I was immediately struck by the professionalism and
the friendliness of the staff. The feeling I got on entering was very much of a home where everyone is loved and treated with the utmost care, respect and dignity. My father eventually passed away at the end of February and my mother was admitted to Arbour Court permanently. It's clear from the conversations I have with my mother that she's incredibly happy there. She has company, support and activities to keep her mind active and good food. Her room is lovely, backing out onto a beautiful garden area. I really couldn't be happier with the whole setup at Arbour Court.

I just wanted to take the time to write a review about all the fantastic staff at Arbour Court.
My aunt has recently passed away with vascular dementia and she spent the last two years at Arbour Court after us really struggling, as a family, to find a suitable home as she was really poorly and displaying
very challenging behaviour. From the moment my aunt arrived she was given fabulous care. Staff were patient and caring and it was clear my aunt felt settled. Staff have been amazing at supporting both my aunt and us as a family in the final stages of her illness.

I ran a voluntary exercise class at Arbour and was very very impressed with the warmth of the welcome, the caring nature of the activities team and they're willing to engage with my activities. Residents were clearly very settled and safe and, without exception, were called by name and treated with
dignity. I was also very impressed that the home management team who took an interest in my work and were receptive to feedback. I cannot comment on all areas of the home, or on costs but its clearly a great environment. Thanks to all the team.

My mother stayed from 29th December 2017 until 29th December 2018. The staff were fantastic, warm, friendly, kind and made us part of a family. I can't thank them enough for the way they looked after my mam until she passed away. They always had a smile on their faces - a brilliant home for my mum.

The duty manager has treated our dad with dignity, respect and with the care my dad deserves.
He is always available to answer questions in layman's terms and in a way that explains how something may affect his quality of life. He is extremely knowledgeable and understanding in an area which is very
complex and has, at times, received some bad press which certainly doesn't apply in this case. We couldn't recommend the home highly enough and are very grateful for the care received.

During the last two years, Arbour Court have provided exemplary care to my mother who suffered from the latter stages of dementia. My mother was also at a very high risk of falling and had many other health complications. The care home manager was incredibly kind and sympathetic and was evidently liked
by the residents as he had such a caring nature and showed great compassion, whilst being efficient and knowledgeable. The nurses and carers also provided superb care to my mother who was very challenging. Like many dementia residents, her condition meant that it was not always possible for her to look clean and well groomed, as she would often become aggressive or aggravated if they tried to intervene. Thus it proved best that only her essential care needs were met, to a very high standard, in order to keep her comfortable and safe. I have nothing but praise for the care she received and the attentive and thoughtful approach of all those at the care home. Thank you very much.

My husband's mobility has improved a great deal since moving to Arbour Court.
The staff are very friendly and they treat each resident with the utmost care and attention, seeing to their individual needs with patience.
My husband is enjoying his meals - particularly the homemade muffin with his afternoon
cup of tea which is a real treat.

My name is Lisa and I’m the General Manager here at Arbour Court Care Home.


I have worked for the NHS and Care Home sector for almost 12 years as a Registered General Nurse, Nurse Manager, Deputy Manager and Clinical Lead.


The Care Home sector for me is the most rewarding and satisfying and I feel it’s where I belong and thebe.


I appreciate being a part of the dementia journey not only caring for the residents but also getting to know the families, working alongside the staff to make a positive difference in people’s lives and ensuring that those live as comfortably as possible within our home.
