My mum was bedbound in Marple Dale but the grounds and activities seemed really lovely. My mum was cared for very well indeed, checked every hour and repositioned every four hours. The staff were very friendly and kind. Mum was not there for long and on her final night I was supported with genuine care
and kindness by the nursing team.
My only very slight and inconsequential negative would be the furniture in the room was a little tired but the people were amazing and that's what counts.

The staff were all very caring and helpful even though they were often 'pushed for time'. The home is very well organised and the facilities were excellent in every way including organised activities.

Do not! consider this an option if thinking of moving your relatives here.
In mid-November, my grandad got moved here on end-of-life care.
And we've had nothing but hassle whilst he has been here. He's asked for basic things which are not being provided.
He got left on his commode from 6:00 AM
till 8:00 AM shivering, crying ringing his buzzer, and no one coming! We live in Offerton and got there quicker than they could get up the stairs to him. They do none of his washing, we have to do it all for him, and he gets left for hours in his room. None of the staff make an effort to smile at him or talk to him. All of these issues above have also been raised to the staff and we got promised he would be better looked after and seen no improvements. I could honestly go into much more detail about how awful his last few weeks of being alive are being treated there.
Absolute joke how he is being treated. That's my grandad you're treating like this. You have one job. Get it together.

My dad had to move into Marple Dale following a fall at home. It was his decision, but I still thought he would be unhappy, to begin with. However, he settled in amazingly quickly. I have never heard a complaint from him. He especially loves the food and the activities. During the initial enquiry stage,
the staff were helpful and friendly in guiding us through the process. One thing that impressed me at that time was that when I would telephone, someone always answered the phone quickly.

My sister has been a resident here since March 2022. Since then, I have been impressed with the standard of care she receives and the professionalism of the staff. I have found everyone to be approachable, friendly, caring and responsive - nothing is too much trouble. The accommodation is lovely, and
the gardens are spectacular. My sister thoroughly enjoys the activities offered, from scrabble afternoons to shopping trips, to a barge trip on a local canal. My sister reports that the food is good; there is always a choice of meals, and it is all homecooked too. I was apprehensive at first, but everything is better than I expected.

My wife and I find it frustrating to arrange visits (Marple Dale Care Home). The process is too complicated through the head office (website) then through the home to arrange times. Our resident got a few visitors yet we find restrictions on visits. We are aware of the quirks during the pandemic but
it is very sad that visits seem obstructive.

My wife has been a resident at Marple Dale for nearly 4 years. She has always been given excellent care there. The staff are fantastic and there is a real family atmosphere with the other residents. My wife settled in quickly and is as happy as she can be. I am happy too because I have complete confidence
that she is being looked after so well.

I have been here two and a half years and have enjoyed my stay at Marple Dale. I enjoy spending time with the activity team. My room is always kept clean and tidy.

My experience with this home has been good. Agency staff not quite as caring as regular staff. Transfer to get service users out and about is poor. The whole of the outside is shabby and needs a good painting, and some work over windows needs cleaning; this is evident when you drive up to the front
of the building.

We continually review our rota's to ensure we are continually meeting the needs of our residents as their health needs change. We are in the process of recruiting new staff to the team and our service is being monitored by the Regional team. We do have a maintenance program in place and hope to be able to continue works as the weather permits. We operate an open-door policy and extend a warm invitation to all our residents and families to discuss any concerns they may have.

I speak to my father by telephone almost every day and he has nothing but praise for the care home. They have worked hard to keep him safe and happy during very difficult times; restrictions are in place but the staff do their best to minimise the impact and to explain why things are being done in different
ways.
With the recent relaxation of visiting restrictions, I was able to see my father for the first time in four and a half months. Precautions against Covid-19 were in place but both effective and unobtrusive. It was good to see him and reassuring to know that he was in safe hands.
A big thanks to all the staff.

I have always found the home to be helpful, considerate and efficient in dealing with my brother's problems.
I have never had any concern that he is not getting the best possible care.

Hi, my name is Michelle, and I am the General Manager here at Marple Dale Care Centre.


Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Marple Dale Care Centre has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life. I have worked for the Healthcare sector for approximately 25 years as a Registered General Nurse, Nurse Manager, Turnaround Manager and Registered Manager throughout the Manchester & Lancashire Area working alongside a wealth of experienced healthcare professionals.


I love my role and what I do and I am lucky to be supported by a fantastic team that demonstrates a nurturing warm and compassionate approach.


The home's core objective is to promote a high standard of person-centred, kind and compassionate care.
